This was a solid issue. A lot of forward progress in the narrative. The stakes are getting higher and the plot is moving in a way that really makes sense and evokes a little more of the original Dark Crystal that I felt the last couple of issues of this series was missing.

It’s still unclear what is going on relationally between Thurma and Kensho. Which is a bummer for me because the fate of Thra and Mithra has always been the harmony and love between the franchise’s many protagonists sets. This time around though, there’s quite a bit of separation between Thurma and Kensho. While Thurma obviously misses him, as well as everything about Thra that brought them together. Kensho hasn’t really said much about her on all these issues? And his new Gelfling friend, Thula seems to be romantically falling for him pretty hard - though there’s not evidence he returns those exact feelings. I don’t have a problem with the series moving away from romantic partnerships being the center of their plots, but I will have a problem with it if they do nothing in the next few issues to shore up the relationship between Thurma and Kensho and at the end expect us to believe their still the same lovely-dovey couple they were in the last series or even the first page of this series’ first issue. With these two going on very different physical and spiritual journeys it would be hard to believe that their relationship remains exactly the same - it’s gotta grow and change in some ways also (whether that means bringing them even closer together and more in love or changing from romantic to platonic love, I don’t care). But if Thula is falling in love with Kensho, than that also needs to be addressed and dealt with by Kensho rather than him and other characters be oblivious for the rest of the 6 issues...
