Keanu
Selena played me.
Confirming I wasted years loving someone who didn’t love me back.
It should be easy to move on, but since she dumped me, I can’t shake her from my thoughts, no matter how hard I try.
Dates and random hookups don’t help, because no one measures up to the girl I still love with my whole heart.
When she appears at my door, begging me for help, I can’t turn her away. My protective instincts kick in, and I grasp this second chance with both hands.
This time, I’m determined to open her eyes.
To help her realize she made a mistake throwing what we had away.
To prove our love is the real deal.

Selena
Keanu has it all wrong.
I let him go because I love him too much to continue holding him back.
And I’ve paid for it every day since.
I didn’t think it was possible to miss someone this much, but my entire being aches for him in a way that isn’t healthy.
It’s why I continue to keep my distance even though it’s killing me inside.
No one understands me the way he does, so, when my ugly past returns, threatening to undo years of progress, he’s the first person I run to.
If anyone can keep me safe, it’s the love of my life.
Maybe, this time, I’m strong enough to be the woman he deserves.
If my past doesn’t take me from him first.

Releasing Keanu is a STANDALONE new adult romance in the Kennedy Boys world. No cliffhanger, no cheating, and a guaranteed HEA.

I thought Keaton was the sweetest Kennedy brother, but I was wrong. Get ready for Keanu to sweep you off your feet because he is EVERYTHING!

This book has a very different vibe than the other books in the series. It's an emotionally charged, coming of age story with dark undertones. Low on drama, medium on angst, and high on emotion, this one will give you ALL THE FEELS. I don't think I've written a sweeter couple and I couldn't be happier with how this book has turned out.

Please read the trigger warning at the start of the book.

#SELENAANDKEANU4EVER

FIVE EMOTIONAL STARS for Selena and Keanu 💖💖💖!!!

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This book is O.M.G. 😭😭😭!!!

It's not a secret that Siobhan Davis is one of my favorite authors this year and ever but she is the author who always surprises me with every new book she has to write.

I loved Faye and Kyler's story.

I loved Lana and Kalvin's story.

But, this story has something that stole my heart and that is the main reason why it became my favorite one from "The Kennedy Boys" series for now (because who knows what we'll get from Siobhan in the last two books 😱).

"Releasing Keanu" is a truly painful and emotional romance story that will make your heart bleed, because of the pain that both characters are going through.

Selena is a female character that I admire because she found the strength to continue living her life after her childhood was destroyed.

Keanu is a male character that makes you wish is the real man in your real life because he is everything one woman needs.

He is...

Her friend.

Her boyfriend.

Her protector.

Her whole world.

Their relationship was really complicated from the first time they started dating but they showed how the relationship can survive all ups and downs if both partners truly love each other no matter how much scars one of them has.

Highly recommended!!!

P.S. I can't wait to read about the next Kennedy Boy 😍❤🔥!!!

Throughout The Kennedy Boys series, I have been curious about Keanu and Selena. The teasing details we have received left me with the belief their story would be a powerful read, one that would rip me apart and put me back together again. I expected the kind of book that would break me in the best of way, but the truth is this wasn’t quite all I had expected.

That is not to say I did not enjoy this addition to The Kennedy Boys series, it simply was not my favourite. The reason for this, however, is an easy one. The topic touched upon in this book is one I’m extremely picky about. In fact, I mostly stay away from books that deal with this topic. A lot of research needs to be done to make it right, and from the work I do, I find myself picking things apart instead of enjoying it. That is not to say it was badly done, it simply did not hit me as hard as it should have. Due to the work I do, it takes a lot for the horrors of the world to result in an emotional response from me. That is not to say I’m immune, I’ve simply learned to keep my emotions buried deep. The last thing someone wants when they are getting counselling after a traumatic experience is to see the person they are sharing their horrors with getting emotional. However, in the case of the horror handled in this book, this is one situation where I find it difficult to keep my emotions locked out. This is the one time where I have to work to keep my face straight and my comments locked down, as it’s the one thing that I have trouble pretending I’m immune to the details of.

It is due to the above that I expected this book to hit me hard. I have trouble remaining neutral when I’m hearing it at work, therefore I expected the emotions to come out when I was reading about it. Sure, there were a few moments that were emotional, but for the most part I did not feel the crippling anxiety I feel when listening to it at work. It’s why I’m so picky about these books. As I’ve heard real life stories, it takes a lot for the fictional ones to have the same emotional impact on me. I’m sure many will be hit hard by it – it is a real issue, it’s one that needs to be dealt with, and more people need to be made aware of what is going on – but due to my real-world knowledge, I need more.

This is just me being picky, though. It’s another addition to The Kennedy Boys series that will have fans powering through the book. Although I am not labelling this one my favourite, I remain in need of the rest of the series.

Siobhan Davis has outdone herself. While bringing another Kennedy boy’s story to life, she has scraped out a raw story of one young woman’s living hell, and its aftermath affecting all who know, love or can relate to her.

This time out, we are still given the passion, but it is far surpassed by the emotional tsunami that fills each page as this gut-churning tale unfolds and a soul-deep healing process begins for its characters. Think of your worst nightmare, imagine it happening to a young woman you love and multiply it. Now visualize a tortured healing process, and the tentative light that shines at the end of a dark and terrifying tunel.

Siobhan Davis has put it all into words with the grace of a master wordsmith, leaving no person who reads this untouched. RELEASING KEANU is powerful and gritty, yet, it is still a love story that is like a new beginning.

I received a complimentary ARC edition from Siobhan Davis! This is my honest and voluntary review.

Releasing Keanu is the eighth book in The Kennedy Boys series. I have not read all the books, so I can vouch for Releasing Keanu as being a standalone novel.

Releasing Keanu follows Selena and Keanu's reunion after a devastating breakup two years prior. This second chance romance will make you swoon while also breaking your heart. Trigger warnings for child sexual abuse, rape, depression, anxiety, and just about everything else.

Selena is an incredibly strong and powerful character. She's experienced trauma most people cannot even conceive of, yet she's headstrong and independent. Releasing Keanu is aptly named as this novel is Selena's healing story. All of her actions are in service of bettering her mental health and life. If you're looking for a romance, look elsewhere as Releasing Keanu gives readers a story about trauma and healing with a bonus romance.

Keanu is as gentle and understanding as they come. He's learned how best to help Selena while putting aside is own needs and desires. Davis strikes a perfect balance between kind and aggressive.

What I enjoyed most about the plot was Davis’ choice not to focus on an action-packed climax. Instead, the story concludes softly reinforcing the focus of the story on Selena and her healing.

Overall, Releasing Keanu is a beautiful story about healing from unimaginable trauma and finding inner strength to open yourself up to the world again.

There’s no question that Siobhan Davis is the queen of sexy, angsty and emotional young adult books, and Releasing Keanu delivered on all fronts but was also surprisingly less drama filled than the previous books in the series.

Keanu and Selena had been a constant throughout most of The Kennedy Boys series until Selena dumped Keanu and he was left lonely, heartbroken and at the mercy of his very wild brother but he was never able to get over the love of his life and then she shows up on his doorstep broken and needing help. Keanu doesn’t think twice about this second chance. He’s bound and determined not only to help her but also to make her realize that their love is worth everything.

I had always wondered about Keanu and Selena’s very guarded relationship. In Releasing Keanu we get to know about the strong and brave survivor of sexual abuse, her struggles with PTSD and the thrilling end to her harrowing past.

I was really glad there was no over the top drama on top of Selena’s very sad and dark past, but the contrast between the latter and the sugary sweet, cavity inducing love between her and Keanu did leave me a bit flummoxed.

Releasing Keanu is book #8 of the Kennedy Boys series by Siobhan Davis. It is standalone contemporary romance told by both points of view with a happy ending. It has mature content (language, sexual assault/violence).

I have read other books by Siobhan Davis but Releasing Keanu is the first one I had read in The Kennedy Boys series. Releasing Keanu is book eight in The Kennedy Boys series. It can be read as a standalone. There is an author note in the begining that it's recommended to read the series from the beginning but you can read this one as a standalone. I want to read the whole series but really didn't have the time right now so I just jumped into this one. Keanu's family pops up throughout his story and yeah those interaction probably would have meant more to me if I had read the previous ones but I don't think that took anything away from Keanu and Selena's story. After reading this one, I'm definitely going go back and see which of the Kennedy boys already have books.

This one has emotions, angst, suspense, and romance all wrapped up into a prefect story. Keanu and Selena had a relationship before but Selena called it quits. They both still love each other though and when Selena needs help she turns to him. Keanu a is sweet and nice guy. I really liked him. He is everything Selena needs. Selena has had a traumatic past that not many people know about. She's a super strong character. The story line and characters pulled me and I didn't want to put t down. I loved this one and definitely recommend it.

5 BEAUTIFUL HEALING STARS!! OMG....The feels in this story pulled all my heartstrings and twisted them up. Keanu and Selena are so strong and have a beautiful story to tell you and you need to hear it. This is my favorite one in the Kennedy Boys so far. This author has hit all the buttons for the perfect book. Can be read as standalone, but would recommend reading all the books in the series.

Books like this annoy me bc I feel the author picks the heorine to be damaged so they have to be celibate and the hero doesnt. Authors will look for any way they can to keep the heroine a virgin or celibate.

In Releasing Keanu, book eight in her The Kennedy Boys series, Siobhan Davis takes a slightly different approach in addressing this character's story and proves her versatility in storytelling while still maintaining her signature voice.

Siobhan Davis handled her portrayal of Keanu perfectly managing to create a sensitive and capable hero who could believably navigate Selena's issues. Keanu was kind and generous, two traits not highlighted often enough in heroes. This guy gave off all the feels and even better Selena got his appeal even while struggling with a past so horrific that any interaction for her was a painful experience. It was refreshing to see Selena rise above being a victim and grasping at what she wanted even as she resorted to unconventional methods to live her life and achieve her goals. There was no back and forth between this couple once they reconnected, they were in it for the long haul. Their dynamic was in making sure that they did not allow others and their own insecurities to interfere and hold them back from each other. The love and patience that existed between Keanu and Selena was staggering in its depth and beautiful to experience.

Ms. Davis tackled some seriously heavy subject matter head on tempering it with empathy and care. Releasing Keanu is not light reading but it was good reading and was consistent with Ms. Davis's compassion and insight into her characters. This work relied more on the recollection of past events and the catalysts that triggered them rather than full on action to move it forward but was not any less engrossing as the characters worked through their issues. Connecting all her past stories as she moves forward with her current work is a strength of this author even while making each work an independent entity. Releasing Keanu was dark, touching and hopeful showing Siobhan Davis at her emotional best.

*I was given an advanced copy. All opinions expressed are my own. *
*While this book can be read as a stand alone to enhance readers overall reading experience reading the previous books in The Kennedy Boys series is recommended.*

I went into this book knowing I would like it. So far, I have loved everything this author has written, but I didn't realize it would emotionally take hold of me the way it did. It's a little different from her normal work but still held what I love about her books most. A plot deep enough to drown yourself in.

Keanu thought he had found the love of his life, Selena. He gave her all the love he had to give, all the time and devotion but when she goes and rips his heart out of his chest and breaks it into a million pieces. He is left looking like an idiot, and his reaction to this heartache is drinking himself silly and screw everything and anything that moved, just to try and get her out of his mind, and his heart and his life. But of course, this little tick only masks it and for the most part, it wasn't helping nor was it working, so when Selena finds herself at his door, in need of his help... He sees this as a chance to try and get her back and he is willing to do whatever it took to make her his forever.

Selena has gone through more than any human being should go through, the trauma and the tragic back story to this girl were enough to cripple me. I found myself completely consumed by this woman and a bit of her story I could relate to. But the strength she showed even after all the pain, the suffering she had to endure was powerful and amazing, and she was just an incredible character and I think the author wrote her perfectly.

This second chance romance took me on a ride I didn't expect. It grabbed hold of my heart and didn't release it right until the book. I knew it would have depth and I knew it would have an emotional scene but damn it, I did not realize how deep this would run and how much this story would grab hold of me. It touches some pretty sensitive subjects, so there is a trigger warning. Seeing these two try and piece together a relationship and Keanu's heart that had been broken by this girl he wants back so badly was beautiful yet heartbreaking.

I think the author handles these triggering subjects with grace. It was very well written and thought out. She wrote this flawlessly and I found myself lost within her words.

Captivating, emotional, tragically beautiful and all-consuming... I couldn't put it down.

Another 5 Star read by Siobhan Davis.

Siobhan Davis wrote another emotional book to grip you and make you fall in love with yet another Kennedy brother!

Releasing Keanu is Selena and Keanu’s second chance romance. It took me a little bit to get into, but once the book got going I was feeling all of the emotions.

I didn’t realise just how much I would fall for Keanu. He was romantic, sweet and passionate and his love for Selena knew no bounds.

There are some trigger warnings in this book though, the prologue caught me completely off guard and I was a bit like holy shit, Siobhan Davis is not messing around here!

All in all, a heartfelt second chance romance that can be read as a stand-alone, but if you want to know all of the characters better then I suggest reading the whole series.

Releasing Keanu is definitely one of the lesser dramatic but sweeter books in this series. However, it does have some dark undertones to it. It can be easily read as a standalone within the series. Siobhan does a superb job of giving you glimpses of the other characters in her series and it's just the right amount to give you want you need in this story but make you want to read their stories too (if you have not already).

Anyway, I digress. Releasing Keanu may not have all the dramatics and flare as some of the other books in this series, but it is just as intense read as though. It has some dark undertones due to Selena's past so be warned that certain parts might be triggers for some readers. Siobhan (like she always does) does not make light of any situation but also tries to keep from going too dark too. It is very emotionally charged read, more than I anticipated.

This is definitely powerful story of true love. I love Keanu and Selena so much. I will be honest - they were not a couple high on my list for wanting their story, but I am so glad that I read it. They quickly became a favorite of mine.

Selena is an extremely strong and unbreakable woman. Her past has made her experience things we could never conjure up in our worst nightmares. Yet, she refuses to allow it to define her and run her life. However, she does have her moments when her past returns and things become too much for her.

Keanu is the most understanding, empathetic and selfless character I have read in quite some time. Hell - I wish he was real. LOL From their past relationship, he already knows how to handle Selena and will stop at nothing from keeping her by his side.

Siobhan writes these characters and their actions exquisitely. These two are so compatible and Siobhan shows not only their weaknesses but matches them perfectly with their strengths and they are this super power couple.

You can see that Siobhan has truly done her research on many things within this book because it all is very accurate and real. This is very little drama and action in this book. Instead, Siobhan chose to focus more on Selena, her healing and mending the relationship with Keanu. While the ending felt rushed, I think it was done on purpose so the focus wouldn't be on the more dramatic parts.

Overall, another great book in the Kennedy Boys and another couple to add to my list of faves.

❝𝑹𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑲𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒖 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒋𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒎𝒆. 𝑰𝒕 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒉𝒊𝒎 𝒕𝒐𝒐.❞
Releasing Keanu by Siobhan Davis is the eighth book in the Kennedy Boys Series. Releasing Keanu is an emotional, new adult, second chance romance that you do not want to miss! Although Releasing Keanu can be read as a standalone, to further enjoy the Kennedy family, I would most definitely recommend reading the previous books in the Kennedy Boys Series. For those of you who are familiar with the Kennedy Boys, get ready because you are about to fall in love with yet ANOTHER Kennedy boy! I have read ALL of them and trust me, I could re-read them again and again! This whole series has just been amazing! 😍 I went from wanting to find, lose, AND keep Kyler, to loving Kalvin, to wanting to save Brad, to wanting to seduce Kaden, to forgiving Keven, and NOW… I’m supposed to release Keanu… but I’m not gonna! I’m claiming ALL of the Kennedy boys!

Keanu is one of the Kennedy triplets, he’s also a male model. Which is how he met the lovely Selena Douglas when they were just young teens. Selena and Keanu quickly became friends when Selena refused to work with anyone other than Keanu. Their relationship went from friends to a relationship soon after that.

Keanu is EVERYTHING to Selena. Her best friend, her boyfriend, her protector, her entire world.

Until she breaks up with him. Breaking Keanu’s heart and her own in the process.
❝𝑰 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒂𝒍𝒘𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒉𝒊𝒎, 𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒉𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒎𝒚 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈. 𝑩𝒖𝒕 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆𝒔 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒎𝒆𝒂𝒏𝒔 𝒘𝒆 𝒎𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒍𝒆𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎 𝒈𝒐.❞
Selena has her reasons for breaking things off with Keanu, but she never really gave him the explanation that he very much deserved.

Two years after their split, horrors from Selena’s childhood unexpectedly show up in Boston.

The only person Selena has ever felt safe with is Keanu. So she runs to him. Keanu doesn’t hesitate and takes her in with open arms.

Now that the two have finally found their way back together, they just have to figure out a way to protect Selena and keep the past from repeating itself.
❝𝑨 𝒎𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒉𝒊𝒎 𝒉𝒂𝒔 𝒃𝒆𝒆𝒏 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒓𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏𝒈𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒕 𝒔𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒏 𝒚𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒔. 𝑨𝒏𝒅 𝑰’𝒎 𝒈𝒖𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒉𝒆’𝒔 𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝒕𝒐𝒐 𝒆𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒐 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒕 𝒆𝒙𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒑𝒂𝒚𝒃𝒂𝒄𝒌.❞

Gahhh… if you have been following the Kennedy Boys Series then let me just say, it all makes perfect sense now. I have soooo much more I want to say about this one, seriously SO.FREAKIN.MUCH.MORE, but this is just one of those ones you have to go in without all the deets! Trust me, you won’t regret it!
❝𝑯𝒆𝒓 𝒊𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒓 𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒆𝒏𝒈𝒕𝒉 𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒘𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝒔𝒉𝒆’𝒔 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝒚𝒐𝒖.❞
Keanu… my sweet, sweet Keanu. He is literally EVERYTHING that you look for in a book boyfriend, or hell a real boyfriend for that matter! He was a mess without Selena for the two years that they were separated and he’s willing to do anything to keep her with him and safe now that she’s finally back in his life.

Throughout the Kennedy Boy Series, we have continued to read bread crumbs about Selena and Keanu, but Selena was always an especially evasive “mystery” character. I always thought she was just shy… but now we know exactly why she didn’t participate in all those Kennedy family functions in the past.

Selena may be bent but she’s far from broken, even after everything that she’s been through she is such a strong character. Her PTSD and anxiety make her feel like she’s weak but she is FAR from it. Although I hate that they both had to go through the heartbreak of separation, Selena did the right thing. She needed to grow and heal on her own, instead of always leaning and relying on Keanu. Her choosing to let Keanu go, no matter how much it crushed her to do it, to become the woman that she needed to be for not only him but for herself, just shows how truly special this leading lady is.
❝𝑰 𝒌𝒏𝒆𝒘 𝑰 𝒘𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒅 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒖𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒏 𝒐𝒏 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒊𝒏𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒂𝒅 𝒐𝒇 𝒑𝒖𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝒎𝒚 𝒇𝒆𝒂𝒓𝒔, 𝒑𝒖𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒚𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇 𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒎𝒚 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒕 𝒛𝒐𝒏𝒆, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑰 𝒌𝒏𝒆𝒘 𝒊𝒇 𝑰 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆 𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒍𝒚 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒕𝒉𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝑰 𝒏𝒆𝒆𝒅𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒎𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒂 𝒄𝒍𝒆𝒂𝒏 𝒃𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒌. These two have had it tough. Even at the beginning of their relationship when they were just kids, they had so many hurdles to face with all that Selena has been through. Both of these characters have been through so, so much that my heart broke for them. I was more than a little teary-eyed once things finally started to fall in place.
❝𝑺𝒉𝒆’𝒔 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒐𝒏, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒔.❞
If you follow my reviews then you already know I am a HUGE Siobhan Davis fan! There is just no one that writes the way she does. Period! I have never been so captivated and enthralled by a story then I am when I read one of her releases. I knew that I would enjoy Releasing Keanu but what I wasn’t prepared for was just how emotionally devastating this book would be. I was completely hooked, from the prologue until the very last page. Releasing Keanu is a prime example of why I love everything, Siobhan Davis . She’s not afraid to delve into the hard stuff, the tough topics, the ones that need warning labels.

There are only two more Kennedy boys left, two more stories to read. I am super excited to finally have Keaton and Kent’s stories BUT… I’m also going to be sad to see this amazing family go. Hopefully, Davis will check in with them every once in a while. *HINT, HINT* Next up is Keaton’s story, and after those bread crumbs at the end, I already have some theories, and if his story is going where I think it’s going… come on September 2020 I am so ready for Adoring Keaton ! I highly recommend checking out Releasing Keanu as well as the rest of the Kennedy Boy Series!

🔥🔥🔥 𝟙/𝟚 – Due to the subject matter in this one, it’s most definitely not as “spicy” as some of Davis’s other work. But with Selena testing the waters of her sexuality, there are still some pretty sexy scenes but they are written exactly how they should be for this couple, more sweet and sexy. Either way, Davis did not disappoint.

🌪 ℂ𝕝𝕚𝕗𝕗𝕙𝕒𝕟𝕘𝕖𝕣 𝕎𝕒𝕣𝕟𝕚𝕟𝕘 – Nope, no cliffhanger. After a whole lot of heartbreak Keanu and Selena’s story wraps up with a HEA. There are bread crumbs though for Keaton’s story, Adoring Keaton , and let me just say come on September 2020 because I already have a whole bunch of theories about where I think Davis is going with Keaton’s story and if I am right… GAHHH 😍😍😍 I’m beyond ready for it!

First of all there is "Note From The Author

Some of the content in this book is dark and disturbing when it references things that happened to Selena as a child. If you have triggers in relation to sexual assault/sexual violence, you might want to skip this installment."

This book can be read as a standalone, there are scenes with previous characters and couples from earlier books but I haven't read them all and it didn't matter.
It starts after the breakup and very quickly we see them get back together so for most of the book they are together.
There are detailed scenes from the heroine's memory of her abuse so definitely triggers.

During separation the heroine due to her issues spent her time trying to get help and heal, she struggles to be touched so there is no way she would be with anyone else.

The Hero is heartbroken over the breakup, at first he is a mess, then his brother encourages him to loose his virginity to random girls which he does.
After he does this for a while he regrets it and stops.
When he and the heroine talk about the past he sobs about his actions.

The Hero is absolutely besotted with the heroine and never wanted to breakup in the first place.

HEA.

Breadcrumbs dropped for future books in series.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”Keanu and I never needed labels because calling him my best friend or my boyfriend was never enough. It never conveyed everything he meant to me because he was always so much more. Which is why it killed me to wrench myself away from him.”✨
.
Selena broke up with Keanu two years ago to set him free from her past. But when her past comes calling, she runs to the only place she feels safe: Keanu.✨
.
If you love:
•New Adult
•Friends to lovers
•Dark undertones
•Second chances
•Dual POV
Then this is the book for you.✨
.
The author told this story with such grace- showing us strength and resilience. While also teaching and educating us. Amongst the dark undertones in this book, Siobhan shows us light.✨
.
The maturity of Keanu and the tender way he loves Selena is beautiful. Wise beyond his years. The way in which you watch Selena battle and then persevere is inspiring. And despite it all- they have a electricity between them that is undeniable.✨
.
The family ties between these Kennedy brothers really shines in this book. But I especially loved the relationship between Selena and Denise. The impactful words and lessons for Selena, taught me as well.✨
.
Selena’s story is coming of age and not the easiest to read. This may be triggering to some who have experienced sexual trauma. The author has provided trigger warnings at the start of her book, which I appreciate.✨
.
I was provided an ARC for my honest review.✨

I loved this book! We didn't really get to know the Kennedy triplets in the first 7 books of the series but that all changes with Releasing Keanu. This book is all about Keanu and Selena, the woman who still holds his heart even after she broke it two years earlier, leaving him devastated and unable to move on. However, when Selena comes face to face with a ghost from her past, she instinctively runs to Keanu, who doesn't hesitate to shower her with his love, his strength, and his protection.

Keanu is just as supportive and wonderful as his older brothers have shown themselves to be in the previous books, and nothing will stop him from protecting the woman he loves; and despite the traumatic events of her past, Selena displays incredible strength, refusing to become a victim again. This story is gut-wrenching and emotional and overflowing with love, and has all the Kennedy intensity and drama we have come to know and love. Family is a priority for the Kennedys - they would die for each other - and Siobhan Davis brings them vividly to life. This amazing series is a must read!

While I am certainly no stranger to shedding tears while reading a Siobhan Davis book, the tears I had while reading Releasing Keanu were for totally different reasons.

I cried for the unbridled strength that Selena has always had, but really let shine now. For the unwavering way that Keanu has loved his girl, even when they weren’t together. I cried because these two as both individuals and as a couple have shown so much growth, emotion, and strength from their time as teens to young adults.

As we’ve caught brief glimpses of in the previous Kennedy boys books, you find out what truly horrible demons lie in Selena’s past. You get put in her shoes and realize how much of a survivor she is, not just a victim. You realize what Keanu means to her and how incredibly important he is to her then, now, and forever.

We also get to see Keanu as the first triplet to find his lifetime love. We see that he falls in with the other strong, alpha Kennedy boys, although his alpha tendencies fall along the lines of always wanting to protect his partner, knowing what’s best for her, even if she doesn’t. He watches her flourish, but will always be there to catch her if she falls. He is so unbelievably kind and patient, always taking his cues from Selena because that’s what she needs. He is so in tune with her and her body, her needs and her desires. His alpha instincts allow her to take over, to call the shots and control the pace because he knows that’s what she needs. I couldn’t love Keanu more if I tried. He is SO good. Gosh, I have always loved the triplets, and Kent always peaked my interest, but Keanu is just absolutely swoon worthy.

This book is jam packed full of emotion, full of gritty, messy memories and full of heartwarming, heart eyed moments. The love between Keanu and Selena is so real and so powerful that you can’t help but be consumed entirely by it. They have such passion for one another, but the respect they share for each other is one of my favorite things about this couple. This is such a wonderful example of listening and being attentive to your partners needs, what being in a healthy relationship is like, and why timing can mean everything.

Keanu and Selena’s story is hard sometimes, but so worth it. They’re easily one of my favorite couples in this series, Keanu one of my favorite brothers. I loved watching them come together.

We also check in with the rest of the crazy Kennedy crew and see what’s happening in the lives of the others. I loved having them pop in and I hate that I’ll be having to say goodbye to this family sooner than I’d like. This is such a wonderful, funny, sexy, drama filled series and Siobhan Davis definitely brought her A game while delivering Keanu and Selena to us.

Totally fall-in-loveable!!!!!!!!!!

Releasing Keanu, the eighth book in Siobhan Davis’s Kennedy Boys series, left me breathless. Like, seriously, she should change the title to “Unleashing Keanu”, because she literally unleashed one of the most swoon worthy, amazing, sweet and protective book boyfriends on us. I never thought there would be anyone to top my beloved Kyler and Kalvin on the perfect book boyfriend list, but here we are…..

Now, first things first, I have to start with one of the sweetest, fragile yet strong (I know it sounds contradictory, but when you read the book you’ll understand what I mean) heroines I have ever read about. The traumatic experience Selena survived when she was still just a child (difficult issues here, guys – you’ve been warned) left her intimidated and struggling, but never made her lose faith and the belief that she can make better and get back on her feet. She left Keanu believing he deserved better, but when things take a wrong turn, she finds herself in his arms once more, with him refusing to let her walk out of his life again and determined to protect, claim and help her anyway he can. There are not enough words to describe Keanu…I can guarantee that you will fall fiercely in love with him…He will be your constant measure of comparison to any other book boyfriends from now on.

I don’t want to reveal anything more about the plot, but I can tell you that there is an intense, agonizing, keep-you-at-the-edge-of-you-seat journey, splashed with many, many swoon worthy moments. It will also leave you thirsty for more….By more, I am referring to our current troublemaker, Kent. The glimpses we get of him in this book left me so intrigued! I can’t wait to read his story (don’t get me wrong, I love Keaton and I am looking forward to his story as well, but Kent left me so, so fascinated).

All in all, it was an AMAZING book. A five-solid-star worthy book. So, congratulations and a thank you to Siobhan Davis for giving us yet another marvelous adventure. Don’t miss it!

It was an absolute joy and privilege to step back into the world of the Kennedy’s! Keanu and Selena’s long-awaited story is finally here and boy did Siobhan deliver with this one!

This book is slightly different from the previous Kennedy Boys stories we all know and love in that it hones in on the hero and heroine with sprinklings of the other beloved family members throughout. Keanu and Selena definitely take centre stage and the pacing of the book is perfect. This style of storytelling drags us deeper into Keanu and Selena’s journey, and gives us a chance to really understand their dynamic and how past events have irrevocably changed the course of their futures.

I’m so proud of Siobhan for never shying away from the extremely important, albeit often disturbing, issues and helping to raise awareness and support for victims of abuse. She handles such sensitive topics, and the portrayal of survivors, with the gentleness and respect they deserve.

It is safe to say that Keanu has stolen the crown as my favourite Kennedy Boy of all time. You cannot fault him for a single thing in this book, he’s damn near perfect and it was a breath of fresh air to read a sweet, strong and kind hero 😍.

This family has been through so much but at the end of the day they always have each other’s backs, and love and support in abundance. I’m glad we still have two books to go, saying goodbye to this ever-expanding and always entertaining crew is going to break my heart! We might need the next generation’s stories as well 😉.

I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book and rate it 5/5 stars! Congratulations Siobhan Davis 🙌🏼.

I LOVE me some Siobhan Davis so much, that it really feels like an insult to give any of her stories a mere 5 star rating. And Releasing Keanu is no exception. OH MY HELL! Ms. Davis punched me over & over again in the feels cover to cover, and I'm still a wreck! Keanu Kennedy was with Selena for a cool minute, until he believes that she played him. Now, they have a reunion after 2 years since that heartbreak, and it's something to behold! See, Keanu has no clue as to what was really going on with Selena, so he didn't always act so nice at the first, and yet, I could tell he had a huge heart so I didn't want to throat punch him. She loved him so much that she didn't want to hold him back, while she tried to get help with things which messed with her head, and rightfully so. This girl went through so much in her short life, that I had to take breaks to breathe because I could feel the pain she battled like it was my own. Warning, there are some serious triggers in this story so be prepared, although Ms. Davis does them gracefully, but still very realistically. I know, it probably doesn't make much sense, but you'll understand once you experience it for yourselves. Releasing Keanu is an emotional story cover to cover, and so beautiful in the telling, that you should just hit that one click button immediately to find out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

An incredibly emotional journey. It’s a story of inner strength, resilience and unconditional love.

Keanu has loved Selena for so long. Even after she tore his heart out and left him behind. His heart never stopped loving her.

Selena has a dark past. She has survived the unimaginable and struggles everyday to overcome it and live. She may think she’s weak, but her bravery is awe inspiring.

When Selena’s past collides with her present, her first instinct is to run to the man who has always loved and protected her. Keanu may have been devastated when she left, but having her back is a dream come true.

This is their second chance. The path will not be easy. They will have to fight her demons to get their own HEA.

Selena’s story is heartwrenching. It’s not easy to read the things she was forced to endure. Her pain and her struggles, her fear and her strength will tear you up. But most of all, this is her story of triumph. She’s no longer just existing, she is thriving. Keanu was the absolute best. He is compassionate, kind and living. He was everything she needed in order to embrace her future. They were made for each other. A true story of absolute love.

I binged this entire series to be ready for Keanu. I am totally hooked on the Kennedy boys and the amazing women they love. Now I have to find the patience to wait for Keaton and Kent’s story’s!

As a huge fan of the Kennedy Boys series, I couldn't wait to get my hands on this new episode of the saga and it sure didn't disappoint. Probably the best yet. A story that really tugs at your heartstrings, you really feel for Selena and what she's been through. Maybe she messed up leaving the love of her life but now they've been given a second chance.
Keanu is so sweet. I love the way he looks out for Selena. Not that he's perfect, Keanu could have handled the break up better and not become a drunken man whore. Luckily he redeems himself, being there when he's needed the most, showing a maturity that most 20 year olds haven't got
As minor characters go, you see Kent in a whole new light. Can't wait for his story. Will have to be patient as Keaton is the next one in line.
Issues dealt with are very up to date and ,as ever, give us something to reflect on. This one is very emotional indeed ,dealing with PTSD, abuse and trauma. Having said that, the story has its fair share of action as well. Keven is involved yet again as security adviser and FBI agent. All in all, a must read.

All the beautiful ,break-me-apart and perfectly, put-me-back together stars in the sky for this amazing second chance romance. 🤩🤩This must read eighth book in the Kennedy boys series by Siobhan Davis is devastating and gritty and heartbreaking and raw. But it’s also heartfelt and healing. Filled full of hope and promise for a better future it’s going to break you apart and perfectly put you back together again. I’m going to try to do my best to do it justice while simultaneously not giving away spoilers.

Selena OMG. I love this character so much you guys. She had been through the most unimaginable, grossly tortuous and heinous things possible. She worked so incredibly hard and made sacrifices, and although devastating, they were absolutely necessary to learn coping skills to better manage the damage that had been done to her. Her love for Keanu knew no bounds, she had to sacrificially make some choices in order to get better for herself, for him, for both of them. It was never about a lack of love, it was the greatest of love in fact. Love for him, love in its purest and deepest form.

Keanu is the best book boyfriend. He’s young, not that he hasn’t made mistakes, but he’s mature and confident in who he knows he’s supposed to be with. The way he’s there for Selena, even after all she’s put him through, makes me love him even more. He made decisions in his own life in response to hers and the guilt he carries for that. He just seems wise beyond his years. Both Keanu and Selena are mature because of everything they have been through. It melted my heart that it didn’t matter the amount of time they were apart, the deep rooted love for each other never waivers.

I loved Selena’s interaction with Keanu’s family and friends. It started to open her up out of her shell and show a different more relaxed side to her. Kent, in his sarcastic, crass, but playful was a little refreshing and pushed her a bit out of her comfort zone in a good way. It was a sweetly protective side to him I loved to see.
I can’t wait for the next book and to get Keats story!

The subject of Selena’s past. GAH, Y’ALL!! I can’t even fathom these things, but Siobhan’s attention to even the finest detail had me on the edge so many times. My head and my heart were constantly at war with each other. One second tears are trailing down my cheeks and the next I’m like “here hold my kindle” before I chuck the sucker across the room out of a “too bad I can’t off a character myself moment.” It’s so clear the Siobhan did lots of research for this book. The information seemed so heartbreakingly believable in its details and so vividly real. I know this is something that truly happens in today’s world and for that I am truly sorry. But I am so glad that Siobhan gave our Keanu and Selena the ending she did. IRL the happy ending is not always found like Selena and Keanu’s, and while theirs was not a quick easy and painless journey to their HEA. It was tragic and heartbreaking and beautiful nonetheless. I loved the journey and every single tear, every heart-pounding, gasping breath, and painfully beautiful moment they took to grow to be who they were by the end was worth it. The good moments far outweigh the bad. Siobhan did two wonderful things here. She gave us a truly astonishing story that not only brings awareness and attention to a popular issue today. But she did it without overwhelming the story with so much sad that it took away from the Keanu and Selena’s sweet second chance love story. So props to Siobhan. As always, you have outdone yourself with this amazing book!

My cr8zysockbookblock blog wrap up for this book!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐⭐⭐️-Infinite number of Stars. This second chance romance is going to take you on a roller coaster of feelings complete with loop-de-loops and backwards crawls and all kinds of twists and turns! Releasing Keanu is a must Read when you just need a good release of the build up of tears that can only come with an epic book hangover kind of therapeutic cry!
🔥🔥🔥- So on the hot scale is this one of Siobhan’s hottest books, well No. But, due to the nature and also the age and circumstances surrounding this couple , and so many other factors the scenes are perfect for this book. They are as steamy as they should be and it’s the perfect slow burn and “sweet love” this book requires. I promise you won’t be disappointed. To do it differently would not have fit with this book and would have been distasteful in my opinion considering some of the subject matter. As always, this author handle it perfectly.
🌪Cliffhanger Warning- No cliffhanger!
🔫🔫Trigger Warning- This book contains subject matter they could be a trigger for some folks. I’m not going to give specific spoilers. I will just say it’s from Selena’s childhood. If you have triggers when reading about it things that have happened to a child/pre teen, this is probably not the book for you. It’s better to err on the side of caution or if your concerned or still want to read the book feel free to DM me for more information.

I am still crying !!!

This story was like no other, I became the Selena in my soul. She was trying to a survive a trauma so severe it changed her whole life. She tumble into her headspace, there are a few people that pull her back from the darkness. This show that the love of family, husband and with proper help can do for most people. She don’t need him to save her, she don’t a fast antidote, all she needs is for him to hold her hand and walk with her through the darkness. Her partner, friend, lover and husband.

I have not read a Kennedy boy that I did not fall in love with and Keanu and is no different. Siobhan wrote another epic Kennedy Boys book that will hook you from the very beginning. Who knew underneath the quiet Kennedy brother you find a real sweetheart and romantic in Keanu. I was really surprised with his character. Selena breaks his heart and he tries to move on with whomever he can but someone still had his heart. Keanu and Selena's story is heartfelt, emotional and they will have you swooning. This was such a great read!! I can't wait for the other brothers books.

I can’t say it enough how I love this author!! She takes you on an emotional journey with this story. I know I say it again and again but this is my favorite book in the series! From the prologue this book kept me glued to my Kindle wanting to know what happened. Selena has been through the wringer and comes out the other side stronger than what she went in, how can she not. Keanu knows part of Selena’s story and he is supportive and loving but he doesn’t know it all. When Selena abruptly end their relationship Keanu is heartbroken but they still love each other even two years later when Selena shows back up in Keanu’s life. Theirs is a second chance romance and beautiful but totally complicated relationship. I can’t get enough of Selena and Keanu!! I can’t wait for the next installment of this series!
