Just as fun as the first one! I frickin' love Carmen Sandiego lol. I would definitely read more of these, so I'm a bit sad there are only two of them. They really do read pretty much just like an episode, but you get to go through and see all kinds of different possible endings. And, of course, it's just fun to imagine you get to be there working with (or against!) Carmen Sandiego. Very fun stuff!

And once again, if you're curious to know which path will let you ...

Miss 6 loves these pick-a-path books. They are wonderfully suitable for children, exciting, mildly educational with their descriptions of multiple international locales (which we reference on maps during our World Studies) and quite genuinely have multiple adventures in one book. She loved that this one truly has different endings as the paths may focus on VILE and their operatives, ACME, or Carmen. You can choose to return to your day job, be a successful international thief, become a spy, or many other endings.

Miss 6 and I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes. We try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors.

In this choose your own adventure you are able to help Carmen Sandiego as she attempts to capture VILE agents who are stealing jetpacks. The sun of this book is that you choose the ending or can read all of them!

Este libro está muy bien ya que también hay una serie que está muy entretenida sin darle importancia a la serie este libro está muy bien para leer y además impulsarte a leer más ya que aquí tienes que contribuir al desarrollo del libro

This book is great for young and reluctant readers. It has a choose your own format to keep students involved in the story and interested.

Review from my Carmen fansite:

Most of what I said about Endangered Operation applies to this one too. The story works a bit better for me by virtue of actually providing detail regarding the titular jetpacks, but it’s still an awkward way to insert the reader character. I’m not sure if the intent was to make the reader character like the one-off characters who help Carmen on the show or if it just wasn’t thought through.

There’s also more Carmen in this one, which is good, though again she barely appears in some of the routes. Paperstar is also present and delightful though a bit ooc, and Dr. Bellum appears rather than Coach Brunt, a more than fair trade if you ask me. But I’m just not as interested in jetpacks as I am in endangered animals, which I knew up front. 3.5/5.

(An additional note regarding the format of the two CYOCs: the eBook edition adds a link back to the previous choice at the end of each passage, which was a super helpful addition to the format as it allows you to backtrack without starting back at the beginning. I wish that the page number had similarly been included in the print copy.)
