Written by tennis champion Cliff Richey and published by New Chapter Press, which publishes primarily tennis related titles. My copy comes in at 163 pages with 6 additional pages of advertising for other books from the publisher.
The book is published in extra large font, most likely to stretch it into a longer book than it would otherwise be. I feel duped. The cover is professional looking, but the non-standard font size simply showcases the fact that this was published by a small press publisher. Additionally, the book would benefit from a professional editor. Overall, it feels like an amateur effort with a pretty cover.
The contents are okay, maybe? I'm giving it two stars because there was some useful information. But I must say that it is hard to stay focused on the text when one feels deceived. There are many, many books on clinical depression and I have read others that provide more detailed information. This book is more minimal information with personal experience and tennis analogies thrown in. I suggest seeking out other well regarded sources for more information on treating and managing clinical depression.
