Chase clamped his hands over his ears as the tyrannosaur bellowed, shaking the forest. The dinosaur bellowed again, then lunged forward and snapped down at the brush, its enormous jaws slamming together with an explosive crack.
Chase had lost track of Zach and Klorel, but couldn’t help thinking they’d been right there, beneath the tyrannosaur. Hot bile rose in his throat as he watched, horrified, certain it had just gotten one of them …
A freak accident shreds the fabric of time. And now fourteen-year-old Chase is running for his life, hunted by a relentless tyrannosaur.
Chase knows what’s happened, and he knows how to make things right again. But the tyrannosaur’s not his only problem. The freakish “Time Snap” has dredged up slews of prehistoric creatures that are suddenly blocking his way, slowing him down, and keeping him from getting the job done.
It’s a desperate race. Chase is fighting to avoid the jaws of monsters long enough to snap reality back to normal. He only has one chance to make things right … and his only hope is the very tyrannosaur that’s stalking him.

I'm an avid skier and snowboarder and a former member of the National Ski Patrol. I take long mountain-bike rides with my dog every morning (except in the winter, when we cross-country ski), and then spend the next couple of hours on my farm writing and editing my books. (No office . . . I usually just sit on the tailgate of my truck.) I am a licensed pilot, a certified scuba diver, and an Advanced EMT.
I always enjoy a good time travel story. This one is definitely YA, with a main protagonist who is 14 years old. The main trope, (which admittedly I’m not fond of), is that he is also the smartest person around and takes immediate charge. Smarter than the scientist on the plane, more take charge than the pilots of the plane, facing down pirates, a group of Neanderthals, a T-Rex and a dragon. Suspend disbelief, ok - remember it’s YA. The author also really believes in the power of the simile, overdoing it. By the middle of the book, they were coming at least once every couple of minutes. To the point that the word “like” was making my head hurt. I listened to this, using the Virtual Voice provided by Amazon - don’t, if you can find a way to avoid it. Tears, as in tears in the cloth was pronounced as tears as in tears from your eyes. (Dammit, now I’m using similes.). There was no taking context into account for proper pronunciation, tempo or characterization. Aaaaah, as in a scream, was pronounced A. Arrgh, spoken by a pirate, became A. Mispronunciations were abundant, the voice was a monotone, and there was no distinction between the characters, unless it was written in by the author. At this point, Virtual voice needs either an editor or better programming. But, the story wasn’t bad.
Note Kindle users this book does not tell you how many minutes is left in a chapter. First of all I'm in my mid sixties and this book was more for young adults, younger readers would probably like it better. The T-Rex was great like a dinosaur should be (no feathers). The action was good but inbetween to much talking found myself skimming over a lot of that. Still I'll probably read the sequel.
This book was well written, with great characters and of coarse the best of all, dinosaurs. It may be be written for young people, but I thought it was excellent. Thanks.
Loved the book but it had nothing to do with the book synopsis, no T-Rexes at all. I started to read book 2, Time Crunch and realized it was the exact same story as book 1, Time Snap.
Actually, I am quite surprised about the ending. This book is a great novel for grades 5-8. It is fun, fast paced, interesting, and funny. This book was great, and I think if you are into si-fi fun novels, this book is for you!
