“This woman knows how to press every button I've got, including a bunch I didn't even know I had.”

This book is a part of the Dirty Bits series from Carina Press. For some reason, I only have this one, but that's okay! It was a quick, fun, and extremely hot read! Another weird tidbit, I'm writing this review belatedly, about six months after, and I just realized that this is the same author of the Crave series (??!!) which I've just finished reading a few days back.

Anyway, this book is quite a short story and it revolves around an artist, an investigative journalist, and a week that they spend together. Admittedly, this insta-romance, so you should not expect too much. A lot of attraction, a lot of steamy scenes, and few conversations in between are what await the reader of Break Me.

Here's the thing. I am not quite a fan of insta-shag. Most of the time anyway. And this is one of those times.

I can understand insta-attraction; it happens. But for you to get down and dirty almost instantly with very few words on the first meeting? Yeah, that's a bit much for my prune-minded mine to take.

This is not my first Tracy Wolff novel. I have read one of her works before - Make Me, which I really enjoyed. I thought I would enjoy this one as well but unfortunately, I don't. The characters didn't quite click with me, though my heart goes out almost immediately to Heath.

Thank you Netgalley and Carina Press for the online copy. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I absolutely love the Dirty Bits series by Carina Press! They are short tales that are bite-sized pieces of romance to be consumed within a few hours. Delightful and decadent, these no bs stories are just the right amount of sweet and spicy! The stories are quick and oh so much fun!

Tracy Wolff has written three stories in her Art of Pleasure series and I have enjoyed all three. Destiny is our heroine in Break Me and she is quite the whirlwind! She knows what she wants and goes after it until she gets it. Being a glass artist, sometimes that takes long hours, but her finished product is worth all her hard work. When she agrees to an interview with one of the leading magazines in the country, she is unprepared for the feelings that surface upon meeting the interviewer-Heath.

Heath is an investigative journalist covering all types of stories, most recent in war torn areas. Disabled while on assignment, Heath is still coming to grips with all the things he can not do anymore. A complete fan of Destiny's work, he jumped at the chance to take the assignment and interview her. He is not prepared for Destiny herself and what she wants from him. Let's just say is isn't his journalistic prowess!

I really devoured this quick read! I love these fast and furious stories as they get right to the point! Destiny and Heath were like throwing gas on a roaring fire! They were totally consumed with each other and I loved it! Bring along something cold to drink, as this is sure to get your motor running!

I voluntarily chose to review a gifted copy of this book by the publisher through NetGalley. The rating and review are my opinion.

This was my favourite in this series. I loved Destiny's character with her go for it attitude and her love of art. I enjoyed Heath immediately, he was dealing with the fallout from an injury that's changed where is life is going. I loved the chemistry between, yes it was instantaneous, but it's a dirty bits read, I'd expect nothing more. I enjoyed the relationship that developed over the five days, and for me I could feel its depth despite the short amount of time. There were plenty of hot sex scenes to spice up the story.

Thanks to NetGalley and Harlequin-Carina Press for a digital copy in return for an honest review.

This was pretty good, cute, and a little sweet... more-so than a lot of books in the Dirty Bits series. I felt more connection between the main characters, and because of that, this made it really fun to read.

I enjoyed the relationship building, even though it was really fast, Destiny and Heath were good together, making this not only a fast read, but hot and sexy.

I do normally like these quick novellas, but this one wasn't good. It was bizarre with no storyline. I like a little bit of a convincing story with my sex scenes. There was nothing here. I wouldn't recommend this one.

This book felt more like a novella to me, so it was quite rushed. I’m not a big fan of instalove, but I liked the story enough to see it through. It was very spicy, and hooked me in right from the beginning. 3.5 stars from me.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

I am enjoying the variety and different ways that authors have interpreted "The Dirty Bits" in this series from Carina Press. I would recommend that you give them a try - and remember the premise of all the 'good' bits in a short story, and judge them on that basis. They are quick, often cheeky, forays into passion, often with a quick transition into romance. Sometimes a short, sexy story is just what you need! This is the third in an arts based group of stories by Wolff, and I enjoyed it for what it was billed to be. I particularly loved that her art was in glass blowing, which requires strength as well as skill and vision. It ensured that she was every bit as interesting as the injured Heath.

Heath may have travelled the world covering dangerous meaningful stories as a journalist, but Destiny walking out of her lake naked, and utterly secure, throws him. From there on the chemistry is clear, the article takes a back seat and we see two people give themselves over to a new level of pleasure. Will they make it long term ... that is for us to decide, but I think Wolff gave us enough interaction that we can hope so.

I received a free copy of this book for Wicked Reads, so here is my review.
This is the third book in the Art of Pleasure series and it was missing anything to do with a relationship. I really did like Heath and Destiny and the idea of them together but the insta-sex was just that.
Heath is a reporter and he is going to write a story on Destiny and her art. When Heath is left waiting on Destiny at the restaurant almost an hour late, he decides to drive to her house to get his story.
Destiny doesn't want to do the story but she does want to meet Heath, he intrigues her. She wants to get to know him and all about his travels.
They have a chemistry that is off the charts and the passion only gets hotter between them. Will their short time together be all there is between them? Can they work things out to stay together?
As I said, I really liked the idea of this story but for a short story, it took me over a day to finish it. I could not make myself pick it up to read it. It still has Tracy Wolff's writing style and that made it readable. Read it for the insta-sex of nothing else.

M/F Erotica
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

This is the third book in this quick read series. I have read the previous books and for me, this one is by far the worst. I found it very hard to read.

You have instant sex in the first few pages and when there could have been a developing relationship or at least friendship, it was just more sex. Yes, I know that these are supposed to be erotic, but there was no chemistry between the characters and it was incredibly disjointed in the writing style.

At times, I was almost guessing at what the book was actually supposed to be about because I was trying to make sense of what was happening.

I would skip this one in the series if I were telling someone to read them. The first two were much more cohesive and made a lot more sense.

My thanks to NetGalley and Carina Press for providing this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I finished this book a couple of weeks ago and have been going back and forth on the review. To be honest, there's a story here, a decent plot, with alternating POVs. Both people begin broken, so I don't get where the title Break Me comes from.

And that beginning... it's believable, if the character is who we believe her to be. But so many things don't add up. She's a huge fan of Heath and his work, yet she "forgot" about their interview. Now it's insta-bang? The whole scenario felt jarring and off-putting, especially as we learn more about her. Therein, though, lies the dichotomy.

I felt their mutual attraction and vulnerability as they let themselves (guardedly) open up to one another. Kudos there. Sex scenes were well-written. But. There are only so many ways to write about two people making love, and if, by the third or fourth time, not much changes or the encounter is written as in a previous scene, it becomes boring. Sometimes, a fade-to-black to leave the reader wanting more is better than another play-by-play.

Were it not for the go-for-the-shocker opening and some repetitiveness in the love scenes, this book would have been a strong 4+ stars.

3/5 - I expected more...

I have read all three books in this series and they are good stories but each book gets more away from the plot of why sex to just different ways to get the Hero and heroine to have sex. I love erotica’s and everything they stand for in the romance genre. What I don’t like it boring sex to have sex in a story.

The beginning of the book started out promising but in the end nothing really made sense. It was insta-love and chaos which is what Destiny is in this book. I don’t understand the title of the book ‘Break Me’ - who was being broken in this story? They seemed to be two broken people looking to validate themselves through spontaneous sex with a stranger. Honestly I feel bad for Heath. He tried to be a grown up but when rainbow haired Destiny is walking around naked and grinding on him begging to be “fucked” all maturity left the story.

I wanted to like this story but it was to disconnected and unbelievable even for an erotica. It does live up to the standards of a true erotica; without the sex there is no story.

I’m bummed.

Sometimes, what I really want is an in-depth, rambling story that I can get lost in for days. At other times I want a quick read that satisfies and gets to the point. Break Me certainly falls into the latter category. This book is part of a series from Carina press, written by different authors, these short tales are designed to be a bite-sized romance that you can consume in a couple of hours. But that doesn't mean that there's nothing here.
Being a shorter story, this one certainly gets straight to the point. Our Heroine, Destiny, doesn't hold back when she knows what she wants. We're barely past introductions before she's getting exactly what she wants from journalist Heath, and believe me, it isn't being the subject of the interview that he's actually there for.
I really enjoyed this quick read. When you're in the mood for a bit of a romantic fix, with a side serving of some hot passion, then this will certainly hit the spot.

Destiny Bridges is a famous artist who creates masterpieces out of glass and journalist Heath Lewis is getting the pleasure of interviewing the closed off artist. Heath is a Pulitzers Award winning war journalist who was injured on the job, left with a bum leg but had decided to accept this interview because he has always loved Destiny's work.

As soon as these two meet, the chemistry is off the charts and they decide to give each other one week of exploring what is happening between them. Of course one week is not enough time and these two quickly realize that there is something real between them.

Break Me is a fun, sexy novella that I really enjoyed. Destiny and Heath are both fun, entertaining characters and really loved the story line of her glass blowing. This was a great, quick read.

Break Me is a short story by Tracy Wolff that you can finish in a matter of hours. I liked that the book was short but that is just about it, to be honest.

Yes, romance books are my favorite to read but they have to have a plot. With, Break Me, they meet, they have sex and the cycle continues. While Heath and Destiny do have chemistry, there is no doubt about it, the book is basically just sex. Sure, there are some other parts to the book so that there is a break from the sex but there really is no plot.

Even though Break Me, was not for me, I will continue to read books by Tracy Wolff.

I encourage you to check out other reviews before making a final decision on whether this book is for you or not.

I love the dirty bits series and I have read the entire art of pleasure series but this book was a miss for me from the start well close to it. I was excited because the artist is finally a female and the author does amazing research to discover what goes into the art itself to use proper terminology and it’s amazing. But this story focused way too much on the sex and not enough on any of the story that it felt sleazy and dirty instead of hot and fun. The focus of the story needs to be developed better because it did start off really well with some great inner monologue but when you hit me with meeting strangers naked and immediately having sex with them you really lost me as your audience.

Although this was a quick read, I had many problems with it. First of all, it took me longer than the imprint suggests. The blurb and the title also lead me to believe I would be reading a different story. The book is riddled with continuity errors and mistakes - which I could forgive - if it weren't for the fact that I couldn't connect to the rest of the story and the characters. And for so much to be made of Heath's injury, only for them to behave in a way that didn't take it into consideration, continually threw me out of the story.

I was looking for a story of a man dominating a woman, "breaking" her down to her core, and building her back up again. What I got was vastly different. It's not a week, it's not submission. It's apparently not the book for me.

This novella was definitely steamy, but the plot (such as it was) felt awkwardly shoehorned in between sex scenes. Especially when the artist and the journalist spend long paragraphs expounding on the virtues of art and different glassblowing techniques. Sometimes it seemed like Wolff had written a research paper on the topic and copied in whole sections as dialogue.

I did think it was cute that she was his favorite artist and he was her favorite journalist, even prior to meeting. Destiny was a little too manic pixie dream girl (she literally has *rainbow* hair), and Heath's emotional journey after being injured almost felt too easy. But there's no denying they had great chemistry!

The description provided by the publisher didn't really sign with the story. You have no idea while reading this that it's supposed to be a week. So that's odd, just saying.

Destiny is a talented artist whose medium is glass. She's quirky as artists tend to be. And apparently very comfortable in her own skin as Heath quickly finds out when he goes to her home to interview her for an article.
Things heat up more than just molten glass between them, as they get to know each other. Heath is dealing with a devasting injury that has derailed his career. But doesn't everything happen for a reason, maybe his destiny was, well Destiny.

I received this eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

I just couldn't get into this book. Two strangers meet, have an instant attraction and then they can't stop going after each other. I'm all for that in a book, but I also need a bit more. There are dark pasts that neither of them want to think, which means that I'm left in the dark about it, and the focus is on the superficial things, which makes me disconnect from the story.

I'm sure other readers will enjoy this novel, but it just wasn't for me overall.

This is a quick and sexy read. Heath is a Pulitzer Prize winning war correspondent who was injured by a bomb and now has come to Destiny Bridges home to interview her. She is a famous glass artist. There are immediate sparks between these two and those sparks ignited and flamed. Getting his story in between their escapades was a challenge but they finally got through the photographer and the story and then had to figure out how to get on with the rest of their lives.

Tracy Wolff writes erotica that sizzles. Break Me is part of The Art Of Pleasure series, but stands alone. This novella is fast paced, has engaging characters and is well written. I appreciate that Tracy Wolff uses the passionate scenes to move the story along. her characters have obvious chemistry and I was entertained by their journey. Break Me is a light, very sexy, novella. 3.5

A good short read!

The writing was great, the characters were well balanced, and the chemistry was through the roof. I enjoyed being able to read it in one sitting and I didn't feel like anything was too cliché, which is a bit difficult to find when it comes to erotica novels, as much as I love them.

Overall, I'd say well worth the time and money. I will definitely read more by this author!
