私、能力は平均値でって言ったよね! (Novel) #7
Didn't I Say To Make My Abilities Average In The Next Life?! Light Novel Vol. 7
Be careful what you wish for in this magical comedy about the pitfalls of rebirth!
When she turns ten years old, Adele von Ascham is hit with a horrible headache--and memories of her previous life as an eighteen-year-old Japanese girl named Kurihara Misato. That life changed abruptly, however, when Misato died trying to aid a little girl and met god. During that meeting, she made an odd request and asked for average abilities in her next life. But few things--especially wishes--ever go quite as planned.

Too much retconning
Too much retconning for me to enjoy it. Its like the author has forgotten half of what happened in the last two issues. The enire kidnapping subplot just doesn't work. I don't know if its just the translation but the writing really seems to be going down hill.

I feel like Funa doesn't quite know what to do with the story anymore, so she's focused on making Mile "quirkier," which just comes off as irritating. I may be done with this series.

Despite the "expected release date" still being several months off this is in fact out and has been for a little while. In volume 7 we start to get some actual serious development about what the story is about as a whole and where the author may take it, though we also still get the normal slice of life mild comedy expected from this series. Despite being similar lengths this volume feels longer than the previous ones since it doesn't rely as heavily on side stories at the end. We also get a hint of arcs tying together and plots started as early as volume one starting to come together in the next book. I was even going to praise the fact that the short stories didn't seem as uninteresting or unrelated this time especially since there were only two, but the second one was worthless and contributed nothing (luckily that one was only one or two pages). Overall is is a very nice and welcome break in between more serious heavy reading and I still recommend this series.

Wish there were more!
I really enjoyed this and felt that the characters should go back to Brandel and her home country. Is there a way to make the sode stories also have less 'side story' feel? I liked most of them but after awhile they felt more like canjoined shorts rather than 'side quests' which is where i think you meant to go. But as an avid reader of your books i only wish they were longer! Please tell me there is more somewhere!😜👀

Light hearted and adorable - but with a wry sense of humour.
This light novel series has been enjoyable from the start.
Volume 7 continues the story with the Crimson Vow party rescuing a friend and continuing their journey together.
There are several short bonus stories included too.
You should only read this book if you have read the previous six volumes.

It is with this one that I am really noticing the meandering nature of the plot. I still enjoyed it, but the humour is not hitting as strong as it used to, and although I will read the next one, I feel like it is more out of obligation of needing to find out how things will end instead of actually enjoying it.

Finally tying many ropes left to hang AND continuing on the quest to understand this world, this is a very good entry in the series.

Really bad crime and punishment parts.
All the bandit stuff was maddening.
