Where is the light novel?

Now I am not going to complain about the series being only 2 volumes (Lord knows I have way to many volumes to collect as is) but something struck me as funny when I was reading the afterward and noticed this manga is an adaptation of the original story and I think it would be a fantastic opportunity to explore this world of mystical beasts and adventure (and also fantastic character interactions) but I don't see the light novel available to catch up on more of this fun trio of travelers as they seek out truths and help bring peace between humanity and those mystical beasts that dwell nearby.

With that being said I still really enjoyed the book and even got a little emotional here and there as the book i no way pulls punches when the world plays it's most dangerous hands. Maybe someday there will be more manga and this is only the introductory tale explaining what each of the travelers are capable of but I am still hoping for a (hopefully good) translation of the light novel that I can throw on my kindle and read at my pace. :)

(more like a 3.5)

much like the first volume this was such a fun read, that is best pitched as "Witcher but make it super cozy and cute." I will say overall I enjoyed this volume more but I can really only say that because of all the setup in the previous book that this just worked so well...

Also in the acknowledgements at the end it said that this is based on a novel series which really piqued my interest and im very curious and will have to investigate more.

I feel a little unsure of how to rate this second volume? It felt so vastly different then the first that it’s almost like two different stories.

While I was blown away by the opening chapter (especially when it comes to the art!) as it was a continuing of the previous chapter, I felt confused for much of the remaining story. The first volume wasn’t exactly a cheerful/happy read, I wouldn’t say it was depressing as it had a few humorous moments woven throughout. This volume had a fairly funny (and bizarre) chapter, but the majority of the volume had more bloody scenes and an overall depressing mood.

Granted, I will say that the backstory we get is a moving and good one, but it was hard to come back from one scene that was a HUGE turn of events. (Honestly there were sort of two them because I teared up in the first chapter and the other chapter had me so shocked I couldn’t even cry LOL) I honestly almost DNF this volume because I was so sad and taken aback by what happened after that one scene. 😅

However, I didn’t want to stop so early in the volume that I missed a “good ending.” And I do think it was good(?), though I still feel deeply conflicted on all my feelings. This is one time I think it would be a really good thing to have the light novel and be able to explore more or see more of the adventures on a deeper level.

Overall, I really enjoyed the first volume but feel pretty bummed after reading this one despite that it genuinely did have a happy ending. Just some of the moments were really really sad and feel like I’m still stuck on those moments unfortunately.

I loved the first Vol of this manga but this second Vol felt so rushed and I didn't enjoy it as much. Some of the Chapters were pointless and I could've done without them. The ending was a bit strange for me as well. I definitely wasn't expecting her to die then come back because her soul goes to different replicas of herself when she dies? I don't know. I still enjoyed it but I just wish there were more volumes in this series.

Honestly this end to the story is everything I could have hoped for and more. This little duology was worth every penny spent on it, and it's one of the best things I've read in a while, in terms of fantasy manga. I genuinely adore these stories and these characters, and I do hope in the future it gets an anime adaptation, because I feel like it would be absolutely beautiful. HIGHLY recommend this series, to anyone who has even the slightest interest! Trust me, it's worth it~.

So in love with this relationship. It is pure and so beautiful ❤️
I just loved to see the story behind the main characters’ meeting and how they both changed each other. Honestly I wish there were more books in this series but I genuinely loved every second and how this duology actually teaches valuable lessons throughout without making it obvious.

Woah, I guess I didn't realize this series was a duology when I read the first volume. This second volume is an abrupt departure from what the first volume was, and was actually pretty heart wrenching in places. The art felt like a step up from the first volume, particularly in the climax chapter of this story.

While I really appreciate not having to collect 50 volumes to keep up with the story and generally appreciate that the creator tried to self-contain a full story within these two volumes, I felt like the "ending" was a bit vague and confusing. Evidently this series is a light novel adaptation, but where's the light novel? I'm actually interested in reading the source material to see where this goes, if it has been translated, but I can't seem to locate it anywhere.

Still, this was unexpected and a delight to read. I love unexpected twists, and this delivered.

This is the story of how the lonely king of darkness met a certain girl over and over again.

The story of their first meeting really snuck up on me and just destroyed any feelings I might have. This was beautiful while also painfully heartwarming. I never saw the true story of this trio coming and the realities of their circumstances they were laid out with each passing chapter crushed my soul. I desperately want more from this world though I don’t think it’ll ever happen 💔

This series had an interesting twist at the end, as convoluted as it was. It's a cute little story, though be warned there is a hint of beastiality (which I had not realized going into it), so do be warned of that. I had no idea this was based off of a light novel series, and this short 2-volume manga is probably just an advertisement for a longer and more involved story, so it was quite quick. Nothing amazing but nothing too offensive either.

More adventures of investigating beasts with Ferry and the crew, I particularly loved the cat chapter.
Then the twist comes and I was not ready for it.
Super awesome backstory is revealed, and now I want more, but it's meant to stop here.
This was adapted from a novel of the same name, but I'm not sure where or how to find it..

Ferry and her two companions deal with a waterhorse, a cat trial, and an ancient dragon that results in some of our characters being killed.

Until the story about the dragon, I was thinking three stars for this volume. But then - wow! some of those panels were five stars. I'm bummed this was a two-volume-only series, but glad I read it.

I don’t know what I was expecting, but it definitely wasn’t those heartbreaking chapters! 0/10 do not recommend. Seriously, this is only two volumes, so it has no right to be that sad!

But, no, seriously, the stories were interesting and the art is impeccable which may or may not allow me to overlook the sadness.

This volume is the conclusion to the series and caps it off with a heartfelt tale. It is emotional from cover-to-cover and provides backstories for the three main characters while concluding their journey. If you are looking for a brief tale that will leave you misty-eyed this is the series for you!

I really enjoyed this series. I liked the first one better. This one got a little jumpy and confusing in spots. But it was still pretty good. It is about a girl that goes and studies and help with mythical creatures.

And THERE'S the backstory!

After the conclusion of the water horse incident, which was kind of sad, you get the backstory of how Ferry and Kushuna came to travel together and what becomes of them. Bittersweet, I really enjoyed this one, more so than the first one.

It was an enjoyable read but to be honest I thought this series was going to be a little longer so I was disappointed to find out this was the second and final volume.

Sad and sweet! The series wraps up on a peaceful note. Has a similar vibe to "Shoulder-a-Coffin Kuro."

3.5 stars rounded up to 4 stars. It was good though it didn't feel as good as the first volume to me. I'm glad that it did have an ending and to have seen more of Kushuna's backstory.

Certainly a more welcome plot twist than the one in the other book I was reading at the time. Fun short fantasy read. Given to my cousin because I thought she would also enjoy them.
