Baby It's Cold Outside

Rate this book
Whenever I’m within ten feet of Eve Cupid, all I can do is grunt and try to hide my erection. It’s not just the effect she has on my body. It’s the effect she’s having on my heart…and my soul.

It’s her smile. It’s the way her fingers dance on the piano keys. When she sings, the sound of her voice makes things happen in my chest I didn’t know were possible.

It’s Christmas, and all I can think of is how to get her under my tree. As luck would have it, she needs a Christmas tree and my family happens to own a Christmas tree farm.

When my holiday wish finally comes true, it’s gone as quickly as it came, because neither of us knows how to repair the sins of the past.

Author’s Note: Enjoy this holiday wonder with a grunty alpha, a kind-hearted girl trying to rebuild her life, and a whole lot of yummy sexy times under the twinkling Christmas lights. Always safe, no cheating, a little angst, and for sure a happily ever after for all.

Since I was a little girl, I’ve made up stories. I would lay in my bed at night and before I knew what a trope was, I would make up these trope filled stories. Boy sees girl, boys falls for girl, boy saves girl….happily ever after. As I got older, the stories turned steamier and more intricate, but the basics never changed.

Now, my books are still full of romance but the naughty bits are naughtier, my hero’s are obsessed alpha types and my heroines are quirky, real women who come in all shapes and sizes.

So, sit back, banish the real world and get lost in some over the top romance with a heaping helping of hot. xoxoxo

I wanted to connect from the beginning but it took more chapters before I did. It got better and I loved the ending.

The story is about Christopher "Vix" and Eve.

She's working as a caregiver at Cedar Terrace and she loves it but she has to go back home to take care of her father. She has a past and even now that she's sober, her family keeps on reminding her about it.

Vix is a great man. He always visits his mom at Cedar Terrace. And since he met Eve, she becomes his obsession.

They think they can't have each other but life has other plans for them.

I really liked his mother. And I loved how he loved his mother and how he always made time for her. Eve's a likable heroine too. The past couple years were tough for her but she's a strong woman.

I loved the epilogue!

Sweet Christmas story. Heroine used to be an alcoholic so she is not perfect but hero is dreamy. He loves her so much! Good read. Epilogue with the birth of their baby was adorable. I recommend!

I should've known better. I thought this was going to be a sweet, quick, semi-smutty holiday story, but it turned out to be so much more. The characters were so real and well-rounded; they each had legitimate each issues and the attraction between them felt like something deeper than just instalust. I do wish that Vix's issue with Eve had a more drawn out explanation - not that I wanted more angst (there is the perfect amount), I just think that something that deep and serious needs more than two lines to be resolved in a truly satisfying way. Other than that - Baby It's Cold Outside joins the list of not only Dani Wyatt books that are phenomenal, but holiday novellas that I've consumed that I plan to read over and over again! 4 out of 5 wine glasses.

I was really enjoying this book until one of my least favorite plot devices was used...another woman kissed him, and of course, it was one he dated a couple times in high school (no info on whether they had sex back then) and has made no secret that she'd like him back...which he doesn't want and avoids her as much as possible. I would've preferred, at the most, that she tried to kiss him but he moved before she could. Not that she surprised this half-linebacker half-lumberjack and planted one on him, nor that he didn't push her off like he wanted to, but moved away as soon as he could. And, of course again, someone was there to catch it for posterity and decided to show it where everyone, including the h who it was pointed out to, could see it. I wish the plot would've focused more on the main "issue" of what was in Eve's past and how it brushed so close to Vix's, instead of letting another woman, one he dated and they'll continue to see as her relative is at the care facility where Vix's mom is and Eve works, kiss him. A grown man can ensure something like that doesn't happen.

New beginnings

Eves been running from her past, but here working in the nursing home she feels like she’s found her place.

But a call from home and it all comes rushing back. Her sister needs her to come back and take care of their father while she’s away in England for her job. Eves reluctance’s to go home is a given. She’s never been the perfect daughter not like her twin Pauline. But she feels like she doesn’t have a choice. She’s going to miss the residents here and some of the friends she’s made. She’s also going to miss him. Christopher.

Christopher fell in love with Eve the moment he saw her. His mother resides in the nursing home where she works. But he can’t seem to get a break. He becomes a stuttering mess whenever she’s around.

With a bit of pushing from his mother and her co-worker these two find themselves alone on Christmas Eve. The passion burns brightly for these two and you can’t help but sigh watching these two open up.

A fun read, characters that an absolute hoot! I laughed out loud, Christopher’s mother certainly has no filter.

Steamy and a feel good read about love and acceptance for mistakes made in the past.

I enjoyed this Christmas novella. Eve and Vix are adorable and it had the right blend of alpha and naïveté to make it cute.

I really love this author she’s one of my go to writers.

Vix has had one of the worst years of his life after losing his father last Christmas in a car accident caused by a drunk driver and his mother needing twenty four hour care he’s just treading water having her at the care home was the best decision all round but it led him to her, his angel listening to her sing to the residents as she plays the piano he knows she’s special but how can he convince her to give them a try when whenever he sees her he only manages to grunt a few words. He’s determined to show her they belong together but is he too late?

Eve had had a tough few years but she’s now sober and stayed that way for a long time. Staying away from her hometown where everyone knew her past was her way forward and working at the care home she’s found a place that she belongs and then Vix crashed into her life and she sees a future she desperately wants, but she must return home to look after her father after her twin needs to go to England. Will Vix still want her when he discovers her past and will she stay or run from happiness?

Great read with two main characters that have experienced life changing events. Still filled with holiday cheer and a perfect HEA.

Cute Christmas read

Baby it's cold outside is a short cute Christmas read. The characters were definitely made for each other.
Despite a little drama in the beginning they were able to make it work with their families to get their much deserved HEA

Are you looking for the perfect holiday read? You know, the kind that is full of naughty laundry, sweet characters and a good story line? Well that's exactly what you get with Baby It's Cold Outside. The only thing "taboo" about this story is the title. So, for those of you who think the song is offensive? Yeah, maybe this book and any book isn't for you. Go get laid or something. Anywho. Dani Wyatt delivers my favorite Christmas romance to date!

Story Line: Eve works in an assisted living facility. She helps the residents with non-clinical every day tasks, as well as plays the piano. I LOVED this detail. Music brings such joy to so many people. So, for her character to be able to do that for the residents, it would absolutely magical. Anyways, Christopher "Vix" Vixon visits his mama who lives that this facility often. And when these two first notice one another, it's hidden attraction gallore. But thank the Lord for meddling mothers. Because, thanks to Vix's mom, he and Eve are picking out a Christmas tree together and then doing more than just picking out a rare tree. Weather, accidents and rude coworkers ensue as well as some of the most naughty laundry I've ever read. This book is as hot as it is well written.

Interaction: Once Eve and Vix offically meet one another, it doesn't take long for their attraction to turn to pure molten lava. Eve is super sweet and due to her rocky past, has become a super strong woman. She is proud of her accomplishments and doesn't care what anyone thinks. I'm not saying she's a millionaire or flaunts expensive things. But what she does have, she has earned, and money can't put a price tag on that type of success. And holy crap, does Vix understand and appreciate her. He is sexy as sin, for starters. But he is so sweet, so encouraging and so uplifting to her. Their dynamic is so swoon-worthy.

Laundry: Oh sweet baby Jesus and all that is Holy. Eve isn't a virgin, but you know the term, use it or you lose it? Yeah, well she might as well be a born again one. But not to worry, Vix knows EXACTLY what he's doing. And he delivers. Over and over and over again. This guy hands out the big "o" like they're candy. Would it be in bad taste if I slid in next to Eve and said me next? Is that weird? Yes? Okay, carry on.

Depth: Eve's place of employment hits me pretty hard. My grandma has been living in a dementia assisted living home for just over a year now. It's incredibly hard visiting her. She thinks I'm her late daughter (my aunt) most of the time. Other times she thinks I'm my mom (her daughter in law). But then there are glorious moments where she remembers who I am and asks about my two kids and says she misses them and tries to find her wallet to give money to them. Regardless, these types of environments are hard to read about. But DW did a phenomenal job of painting an uplifting picture of the residents and their struggles. And to weave a beautiful love story in there all the while describing the best possible scenario for Vix's mom? I could not love this book anymore than I already do. It's amazing. Pick it up and read it this weekend. I promise you will definitely be in the Christmas spirit once you finish :)

Damn, this is my first book by Dani and wow. This author has an interesting way of writing but sometimes the characters almost sound the same and you get confused. I enjoyed Mrs Vixon's character the most. The writing is... Interesting, and I don't even know if i liked it that much, it wasn't bad but it almost felt not serious. Eve and Vix's chemistry was nearly instantaneous but the smut was alright. Its a short insta, sad happy romance book. I didn't like Eve's twin sister, she was very condescending and I hated how Eve couldn't take a stand for herself. Also the 180 degree change of her sister and dad, really did nothing to make me like them much. Pauline shouldn't have treated her sister that way just because Eve chose a different path from her, not too bad though. Anyway Eve is good and she forgave her family eventually and they all changed its a cute, good Christmas read.

Oh Baby, Eve and Vix will keep you warm!!

An Amazing read!! Dani delivered a heart melting novella between two hurting souls that needed each other to become complete and happy. Both Eve and Vix had been through so much in the past few years experiencing loss and hurt in their lives, that they never knew what hit them when, with the help of a meddling friend and a crazy mother they were finally forced to interact. My heart melted with their first kiss, and just swooned as their connection grew and the fell in love. I loved this crazy love at first sight novella. A definite must read!!

This book is a great holiday story where two damaged characters are instantly attracted to one another and end up falling in love just in time for Christmas. It is a cute and steamy love story about Vix and Eve who get past their initial hesitance for taking a risk and end up finding their happily ever after. Grab a nice cup of eggnog and cuddle up with this holiday novella! You'll be glad you did!

Eve and Viix have secretly admired each other for a while now. Drawn together physically and emotionally. Both have suffered a loss that entwined them. As their acquaintance comes to an end, things suddenly begin to happen. But when the truth comes to light, will it be too much to endure? Add in a spicy mom, a less than tactful sister and a jealous co-worker and what could go wrong?!

Great Holiday read

Great story right in time for the holidays and complete with an alpha male and his baby girl. Eve and Vix have a story that doesn't start off on the best foot but when you've been in an accident and the roads are terrible you take whatever help is available to you. But watch out when the for gets stoked.

I was enjoying this at the start; the characters and story were well thought out, but then the end felt a little too rushed to me. Too much happened and nothing felt complete. Plus I wasn't a fan of the H been kissed by another girl and then having everyone shove it in the h's face.

At least they got a happy ending.

A short, sweet holiday novella about Eve, who's had a rough patch but has made a better life for herself working in a nursing home and Christopher, who's just trying to make sure his Mum is looked after as he goes about counting the family business after his father's death.

These two were very much insta love vibes with all the sweetness a girl can handle
