This is the 10th book in the Reed Security Series and it is recommended that they are read in order.
Blake 10 percent chance to live. I heard what the doctors said, but I can't believe it's true. It's not right. We just got married. We just had a baby. How could she be dying? Everything started out perfectly. Now my world is crashing. Everyone is trying to help, to make things better. I'm so grateful, but there's only one way my world will be righted, and that's if she survives this. I need her to fight. I can't raise this baby alone. I can't live without her.
Emma Blake is everything I ever wanted in a man. He's smart and funny. He's manly. I thought the day I married him would be the happiest day of my life. Now I'm just hoping that I make it to the next day. They say what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I really hope that's true in my case, but the odds are not in my favor. I'm not ready to say goodbye. I'm not ready to leave the new family I just created. They also say you can't always get what you want. I really hope that's not true in my case.

The following ratings are out of 5: Romance: ❤️💜💙🤍 Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥 Story/Plot: 📙📕📗📘 World building: 🌎🌏🌍🌎🌎 Character development: 😟😣🙃🙂🥰
The heroine:Emma - She owns a romance bookstore. Her friend Ivy signs her up for an online dating website because she spends too much time with her nose in a book.
The Hero(es):Blake Reasenburg (a.k.a. Burg) - works at Reed Security. He had been seriously dating a woman through the first seven or so books in this series, but after two biker gangs went to war with Reed Security and she found out how dangerous his job really was, she tried to give him an ultimatum and Blake chose his job.
The Story: Blake sees Emma on the dating site and contacts her for a date and they immediately hit it off. Blake knows right away that what he feels for Emma is different than what he had in the past. Both of them fall in love very quickly and the entire romance moves at a fast pace.
This story has a much more true life feel than all the past Reed Security books, with all the suspense and drama. Of course all the relationships in this series seem very lifelike, with the way the guys talk about how their women act and how they deal with different relationship situations. But this one shows the real life drama that can occur when someone’s life turns on a dime from one day to the next.
It reminds you of how easy life can change and go from really good to really bad. That happened to me at one point in my life and nothing has been the same since. This book has all the feels. Literally. You can feel the anguish of waiting two full days after Emma gets a scan to see if her cancer has metastasized, and the utter agony when they find out that the results aren’t what they hoped but are exactly what they feared. The fact that they have a newborn makes everything so much more poignant.
The blurb says this book is based on real life events and I can tell. It gets really detailed into Emma’s battle with Cancer as well as Blake’s PTSD which is exacerbated by the stress he is under with Emma’s Illness. I should have known that it would end up being dealt with a great way and the Reed Security family was a big part of it. I love how the gang always works together to solve any problem that comes up. I wish I had friends like that. And as for Burg, he is awesome throughout everything.
I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.
Imagine you are male, huge, muscled, intelligent, lethally trained by the military, combat experienced & currently employed by a one of the nation's most premier private security firms. You excel at hand-to-hand combat, maintain a calm cool professional mien during horrifying life & death missions, are physically daunting, proficient with all types of weapons & have successfully defeated or killed multiple foes. Your name is Blake 'Burg' Reasenberg (H) & the love of your life, your wife, your woman you'd kill & die for is Emma (h). Now imagine Emma is struck by a potentially lethal unforgiveable foe that NONE of the skills you have can do a damn thing to stop. I have read almost ALL the books in this author's Reed Security series & until this one I considered KNIGHT to be the most emotionally intense & gutting. This one is waaay beyond that. 1) Because it's based on a true story that can (& does) happen to hundreds of thousands of everyday people around the world 2) Because the emotional agony of both the patient & the patient's husband are detailed, realistic & truly agonizing 3) Because no matter how many loved ones, relatives, friends support the patient, the patient ultimately is alone in the fight This book was so emotionally intense, & at times so depressing, I found I HAD to read it in stages. But do not let this deter you from reading it: I feel the author did a stellar job in expressing how a devastating & potentially fatal health diagnosis is physically & mentally, how it radically changes not only the patient's whole world, but that of spouse, family & friends. The story is one of overwhelming love, support & battle. The total & complete absolute love of Burg for his Emma, to be & do anything & everything she needed to support her in her fight. The soul deep love of Emma for her husband & son. The love of their Reed Security extended family also wanting to do whatever they might do to help Burg & Emma. The author takes the reader on the agonizing journey of newlyweds & new parents Burg & Emma to fight to save her life. The reader is privy to both Burg & Emma's love, terror, hope, determination, Emma's bouts of apathy, intense depression & physical pain. Burg's frustration, stress that trigger ever increasing PTSD nightmares & flashbacks as well as anger at himself for not being able to understand & fix her emotional & mental demons. This is a superb story of 2 people fighting for life & love with the support & love of their extended family. Be prepared to cry, to lose hope & reclaim it, but most of all understand just how completely people & friends are capable of loving each other.

Talk about an emotional read! The previous books in the series definitely pack a punch, but this one will knock you flat out with how you feel while reading it. You NEED to read the other books in the series first to know more about the characters, they are not just working for the same company, they are a family and you can see it in how they interact with each other.
My heart ached while reading this and seeing Burg and Emma's story. It was not easy but was beautiful! These two meet and end up with an accidental pregnancy on their hands. Then they find out that Emma has a horrible heath concern and the survival rate is REALLY low. Watching how they navigate through is intense and definitely tear worthy. Make sure you have tissues around when you read it and I give it 4.5 outta 5 stars!!
PS: I received a copy of this book to read and review honestly!
Fun, sexy mexy, plenty of action and yes at times tears.
This is by far the best series and the offspring series I have read this year.
The complex threads that Giulia weaves her stories, and her characters keeps you coming back for more. You will be riveted to the pages and find that hours have passed by the time you manage to pull yourself away.
You will laugh your arse off when you are not sweating through the action.
Omg Lagomarsino what have you done to me? 😭😭 this was a beautiful yet sad storyline filled with such emotion and passion, If you’re anything like me you’ll laugh and you’ll cry, they will be tears of both laughter and sadness for Burg and Emma.
There were times I thought I was wasn’t going to be able to finish this one, but I kept on reading and I’m glad I never gave up. Yes it was an emotional rollercoaster of a storyline but it’s one worth riding, I will however recommend waterproof mascara it’s a must unless you’re a fan of panda eyes.
Wow! Everyone will definitely be able to relate to this book in some way. *spoilers* Cancer touches EVERYONE in one way or another. This book brings to light the very personal struggle of one form of cancer but from many different perspectives. Whether it is as the patient/survivor or the family member/friend that is along for that journey. It touched and affected each person in this story in some way. Burg was such an amazing male lead in this book. Truly the rock and cornerstone of the family. Even in his weakest moments he still strived to take the best possible care of his family. Emma's struggles throughout were so intense that the reader truly got an understanding of her plight. So many don't realize that depression, especially after treatments are through, is so common. Their struggle really came off the pages. And it was so easy to see both sides. Emma's frustration and isolation because her new norm wasn't anything she could understand until she went through it. Burg's frustration and need to push forward and live the life they thought they wouldn't have. This story gave true perspective and light as to the struggles families go through after such a life-altering experience. This book also showed that every survivor story is unique and how everyone handles things varies so greatly that no one can put it in any box and label it. What an amazing journey to have been able to go on with these characters. And, as always, the comedic relief at moments was so perfect. These books definitely show all the spectrums of life and emotion. Burg is gonna make everyone fall in love, with the author and the characters!

Five stars isn't nearly enough for this book. It is, in a word, PROFOUND. When I understood that Emma, the main female character, was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, a rare form, and given only a 10% survival chance, I nearly put the book down and walked away. But I love this author and I wanted to have faith in her writing. Thank goodness I stayed with it. Blake makes me think of Marvin Gaye's song with these words: "Ain't no mountain high enough, Ain't no valley low enough, Ain't no river wide enough, To keep me from getting to you, babe." Burg, aka Blake, is all that any woman could ever ask her hero to be.
I thought the last book was my favorite. How wrong I was. My mom was my best friend, and I thought I'd have her around forever. But cancer doesn't care about your plans. Her battle wasn't enough and cancer took something I can never get back. This book was so well done I'm pretty sure my face looks like I've been though warfare. Be ready to cry, scream, laugh and fall in love with the characters in this one.
Wow! I'm emotionally drained after reading Burg & Emmas book. So well written from a cancer survivors point of view but also from the loved ones Pov. A breathtakingly inspiring story which is both heartbreaking & optimistic in the same measure. 5*
This was such an emotional roller-coaster story! My emotions were all over the place; I laughed, I cried, I raged, I was happy, then I cried again. Burg and Emma's story was such an emotional, passionate, beautiful, sad yet at the same time such an awesome story :) I definitely can't wait for the next story from this series from the amazing author, Giulia Lagomarsino :)
This was the first Reed Security Romance book that I have read, and unlike what the synopsis claims, the earlier books don't need to be read for this one to make sense. There wasn't any information that pertained to earlier books mentioned and nothing that took away from understanding the story.
The reason that I picked this book up was because I believed it would be an ugly cry, and while I did shed tears, it wasn't an ugly cry and I was kind of disappointed in that regard. However, it was still a great book and definitely makes me want to read the earlier books in this series and all of the upcoming books planned.
The author tended to flip-flop between using "Blake" and "Burg" (who is the same person) when notating whose point-of-view the chapter was in, and there didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason as to why one was used over the other.
I will say that I am kind of irritated that every single couple in this series seems to have at least one child. I tend not to read books where the main character has a child, but I read this one because like I said earlier, I thought it was going to be an ugly cry. I hate that basically every single romance novel out there ends up with the woman falling pregnant and having a kid. Meanwhile, in real life, more and more women are deciding to not have children, and with there being like four different couples in this book (I can't really count, there were so many of them, and the wives used their husbands' real names and not their nicknames) I just felt that it was very unrealistic.
We get a really tough read with Burg's story. We see what is going on with Emma. How old is Ryker at the beginning of the story? This story was the hardest read for me, because I related to Burg quite a bit with what he went through with Emma. I had been there with my paternal grandmother, cousin, and father. I only had prayers for the frist two, but Dad started chemo and radiation over Thanksgiving break for me. That meant I was the one to had the honor of taking him to his first treatments. Then I took him to the hospital the night he had his first radiation treatment (Wednesday) because he had taken 7 nitro in a 4 hour period of time and couldn't get his blood pressure under control. He was having a heart attack. That put him into congestive heart failure. He finished chemo and radiation in early January the next year, and then later in the month ended up with the flu and in ICU because he aspirated during a coughing fit. I understand where Burg was emotionally. I understand where Emma was as well, with just being done. My father was that way. It's still hard some days for me, knowing I won't get to tell him good things that happen in my life. You will need to have tissues ready for this book, especially if you have someone who has fought the big "C" in your life.
RECEIVED THIS BOOK AS A GIFT FOR A FAIR/HONEST REVIEW and REVIEWER FOR Bloggin' With M. Brennan.
First I have to say that Giulia will have you crying your eyes out while reading this story. I had so many more emotions while I was reading it but that is because it is something that is a reality for me and my family. This story truly blew me away and it took me a few minutes to recoup after reading the ending. I loved how the Security Team came together to help Burg and Emma when they needed help and guidance.
Imagine you have everything in life. You have the perfect job and the woman you love standing by your side. There is nothing that can come between you and your family. Then you get the best news ever your family is growing and your expecting a baby. Then you get the worse news ever that will change your family forever. The news is earth shattering and you have no idea how to handle it let alone learn to live with it. All you know is that you have your spouse your best friend by your side and you can get through anything as long as you have them.
This one out of all the Reed Security books is the most emotional one I read and it will break your heart but the ending will put it back together. This is a must read addition to the Reed Security series!
Okay. There will absolutely be spoilers ahead. This was just not my kind of book. Not that it was necessarily a "bad book", but definitely not my cup of tea.
I had high hopes for this book and potential future books based on Lola, Whiskey, and even Ice's book. But this book just did not do it for me. And really the reason it gets two stars is because of the secondary characters. I really do like the reed security guys and the characters as a whole. Though I do not like several of their individual books. At this point I am still half and half on liking them and not being able to stand them. They aren't the best odds for a series overall.
Their backstory was cute and how they got together and the information on Megan breaking up with him made sense. But the entire book is about cancer and going through treatments and having a double mastectomy and going through chemo and the pain of all that in addition to having a new baby and a difficult relationship with her mother at the beginning. (Their relationship was better in the end).
I understand that cancer is absolutely a part of life. And it's a tragic horrible thing to go through and to have loved ones go through, but when I read a book, I do it to escape reality. I do it to get caught up in the romance and the love and sometimes random crap and danger. But not cancer. Not death or the potential of death. So I just could not get on board with a story. I did love how all the guys and all the girls got together and helped out and even some moved in and took care of Ryker when Mom and Dad couldn't because they were going to appointments and what not and getting treatment and working and everything. So I love the family aspect of the men and women in the book. But the actual story itself. No. I don't want to cry for half of a book because I can relate to what's happening to a degree. I also laughed, but that was also mostly because of the secondary characters.
So this one would be a big no and I feel like should be marked as more of a trigger book than what it is. The little blurb that says she has 10% chance of living doesn't say why. That could be a multitude of reasons. Cancer books just aren't fun to read, so I can't with this one.
It was originally going to stop at Lola but then Ice was intriguing and this one also seemed intriguing since I knew Burg did not end up with Megan. However, had I known what was in store for this one, I might have stopped at Ice.
I did like some of the wrap up of the other characters - Cara and her processing, Maggie and her back surgery, and even Derek and Claire's wedding... Though it was quite jacked up and ridiculous. 🙄 Derek pulling off the superheros after telling her no was cute. But the other gang following Cash and his crew? A bit much. Seems like these people are all better off going to Vegas versus having actual weddings. Haha.
So once again the overall characters saved the book from being a one-star review. I am curious about Gabe and Jules though so I will continue with their books. But I don't know that I'll go much further beyond them.
Oh, and the cast of characters list was missing from this one again. Sigh. I'm telling you, I don't know all these guys by both their names! I am semi interested in Jackson's story too, but I'm not even sure which book is his without the chest list. Ugh. I don't need all the names of their spouses and families, but the main guys and perhaps the books that are finiished would be nice! Sigh.
And does anyone practice safe sex in these books?! I think one of the guys talked about and used a condom at the beginning and Ali was tested because of the gang aspect, but I don't feel like (m)any of the others even discuss it or used them. They're just screwing around without a care about anything. 🤦🏼♀️
Blake “Burg” Reasenburg is going to make you sad at the beginning of the book so keep your box of tissue close at hand. It may be his background but he knows how to give orders – he had me wanting to say, “yes sir!” Emma may have just met a man that can push all the right buttons. She may know how to follow orders but at times she doesn’t make it easy.
One thing I found interesting is how the author uses a time line as the story unfolds. It added to an already interesting read. It’s a story that has anticipation. It’s a story that has ups and downs. It’s a story that has an almost instant connection between our main characters and plenty of heat. It’s a story with anticipation, joy and sadness. But it’s also a story that got me to laugh. The author reminds us that sometimes something that seems so serious to one you just have no choice but to let it out. This story delves more into the people that work for Reed Security than the business itself – more personal. We get into the minds of a man or in this case men – and that lent to a lot of laughable moments.
This is the most emotional out of all the books that I’ve read in this series. The difference with this one is that it seems to be the most realistic; I wouldn’t have changed the experience for anything. They come to be like friends – and you don’t give up on friends. Even the characters are more than just co-workers. They all come to care for each other and for the extended family. It’s tough not to get the heart involved. I love surprises and you will too when you see the treat the author gives her readers at the end. There’s a second treat because there’s another book coming out next month – can’t wait.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
Giulia Lagomarsino is one amazing author. I love her writing style. She didn't disappoint with this book. Its her best one yet.
When you read burg you are going to need tissues lots of tissues.
Burg as all the feels. I think I cried more than I did laugh. Giulia takes you on emotional ride with this book. That you cry some ugly tears and also laugh out loud at the same time. I have no idea how she does it.
Blake is trying to move on from a break up. So sinner his friend sets him up with a online dating site. Even though Blake didn't want to be on a dating site. He's glad sinner set him up because he meet his soul mate. It was beautiful.
Emma was a single woman. She owned her book shop with her best friend ivy. Her friend ivy also set her up on a online dating site. Blake and Emma profile matched and they ended up having their first date.
Their first date was sort of awkward once they sorted out the awkwardness. It's was the perfect first date. After a month of dating they end up getting pregnant. After Emma as the baby. They discover that she as stage 4 cancer.
This book truly was outstanding giulia lagomarsino created another masterpiece. The deduction in the front of the book made me cry even before I read the book. Thank you giulia. I highly recommend this book.
I'm not sure how to write this particular review as it's one of those stories that just needs to be read instead of wasting time reading reviews to be honest. There's no way that anyone could come close to doing justice to what the absolutely brilliant Giulia Lagomarsino wrote, so yeah, not even going to try. So Burg, he's been getting crap for bringing home the wrong girl from a bar for several books now, as that girl had the wrong equipment, and I've never laughed harder. He's also had a girl rip out his heart, and finally, the guys at Reed Security got him signed up for a dating site, with the most entertaining profile ever, and he meets the love of his life, Emma. Their first date nearly had me wetting my pants laughing, as it was hysterically funny. And they started on a life journey that brought me to my knees. It tore out my heart, stomped on it, set it on fire, stomped out the fire, and then shoved the pieces back in barely together. I'm still exhausted from crying, because the pain was so palpable, that it came out of my kindle to knock the breath out of me over & over again. I can promise you that it was as realistic as it can get, as it was inspired by true events. I can not say enough about this particular story in the EPIC Reed Security series, so I will just end with HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDING TO EVERYONE!
Series is amazing and Blake (Burg) and Emma's love story addition was not disappointing. How they fell in love married with child white picket fence home life happened and took them all for a twisted surprise. The emotions the love trust pain struggles facing death happiness support joy sorrow etc. The secondary characters the support and love being there always. They truly are family. The humour my gosh laughing so hard. Especially when the men get together and what they come up with. Loved the planning of a daycare at Reed Security. Wow they were so funny. And their women are a great compliment.
Then the unexpected happens makes you cry as you read on not sure why it's happening and scared of the unknown.
Emma the pain and turmoil she endured. Not knowing how things will change, getting a second chance. Emma had to be strong not give up, find herself again to be a great wife and mother. Blake being there for her never giving up even with his silliness at times. This is true love!!
Story was so detailed you can feel their emotions. The amount of research that went into making this story so real was incredible. How it effects you and loved ones. Love it.
Thank you Giuliani for another great addition to the series. Looking forward to Gabe's love story
This is going to be short and sweet because I do not want to give anything away. But I will say … if you are going to read, have the tissues ready because you are going to cry. This story deals with an issue that is something that I have dealt with (not personally, but someone close to me) and it brought up some very strong emotions while I read it. But, what really got me was just how REAL it was. There was no playing around with this one.
Emma and Burg were awesome, but in different ways. There were times that I really had issues with Emma, but again, no clue how I would deal with the same issues so I couldn't’ fault her too much. I will say that I was more empathetic with Burg than I was with her. He was such a strong character in not only how he dealt with the main issue of the book, but also how he handled Emma’s actions. Did he make mistakes, oh yeah! But he really redeemed himself numerous times.
Overall, an awesome book with a HUGE emotional impact. There are triggers in this book for anyone dealing with the issue (read the blurb and you will understand more!). I cried, laughed, and smiled through the pages. But overall, I experienced the story with the characters. So for me, two epic thumbs up! Give this book a try and happy reading!
I've been following this series from the beginning and with each story I marvel at how better the series has gotten better with each story. But it is this particular story that hit home for me because in some ways it mirrored my own parent's struggle with my mother's breast cancer. Giulia beautifully highlight's their struggle to not only beat cancer but to make sure that as a couple Burg and Emma came out on top. There have been many books were by the main character's deal with their spouse having cancer, but sometimes they make the cancer a "by the way" bit of the story. Whereas Giulia has managed to incorporate Emma's cancer and her journey with Blake seamlessly. What I have especially loved with this book, is you get another glimpse in to the family that is Reed Security, and not just the Security firm. The bonds we caught a glimpse of in Lola's book, is out in full force this time and I loved it. Especially with Knight taking a front row seat into teaching Burg about his tips and tricks when it comes to keeping an eye on his girl. I may say this at every review, but I honestly think that Giulia's story telling gets better with each book. And I definitely had some ugly cry moments, along with some screeching laughter moments.
Another amazing book by Giulia Lagomarsino!! Burg is the 10th book in her Reed Security Series and each book get's better and better!! Burg can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend you read the series in order as there is alot ot backstory involved! This review is going to be short and sweet as I don't want to give out any spoilers and I truly believe you need to read it for yourself!! This is Burg and Emma's story and what an emotional rollercoaster story it is!! I laughed so hard at some parts and at others it was the complete opposite and I was crying because some parts were so hard all you could do was cry!! How do you fight something you can't see?? What do you do when you realize you can't protect those you love? This book shows us that it doesn't matter if you can't see your opponent you can still fight and with family and friends fighting right beside you there is always hope!! Another amazing 5 star read and I highly recommend this book and the series you will not be disappointed!!
The story has laughs, pain, secrets, depression, agony, love, and heartbreak.
If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first Sinner (A Reed Security, #1) Cap (A Reed Security, #2) Cazzo (Reed Security, #3) Knight (Reed Security, #4) Irish (Reed Security, #5) Hunter (Reed Security #6) Whiskey (Reed Security, #7) Lola (Reed Security, #8) Ice (Reed Security, #9)
This is Emma and Blake "Burg" Reasenburg's story. Burg and Emma met through a dating app. But they knew right away they met the one. Everything is coming together for them they are in love, married, and have a baby boy. Then tragedy strikes. Now they in a fight for there lives. No amount of training is going to help with this fight. Can they brave the fight and come out the other side together or will Blake lose Emma way before he ever thought he would? Can they survive the pain, worry, and depression? Or is this the end?
I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
After Blake’s last relationship ended his friend Sinner created a profile on a dating website and although he had his doubts from the moment he met Emma he knew that she was meant to be his. Emma’s best friend and business partner set her up on the dating site as well and she soon realized that meeting Blake was the best thing that ever happened to her.
Their romance moved at a fast pace and they are now happily married and expecting their first child. They thought their life couldn’t be any more complete until they receive the devastating news that shatters their world. The only way that they are going to get through this is together, but it will test the strength of their love and their marriage.
This is an emotional story that at time will leave you heartbroken and at times will have you laughing. It is a story of resilience and love unlike any other. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Another great book to add to a great series. This book was not what I expected from reading other books in this series but it still took my breath away. The story in this book is heart wrenching, man oh man, this one made me cry. I found myself reading along and I would sniffle before I realized I had tears streaming down my face. Be careful with this one, may want to save it for a weekend at home read instead. :) I should mention that there are some traditional laugh out loud moments that the author always puts into her books as well. This is a great series and although I have not read the books in exact order, I have managed to love each and every one and put the pieces together along the way. As always this is a well written (especially with the topic breached in this book - no spoilers) and contains characters that are so deep and amazing that you will fall in love with them.

I received a free copy of this book however all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own. I seriously L❤️VE (yes, I had to shout that!) this series and it's precisely because of Giulia's writing of books like this. It's yet another perfect mix of alpha male, sassy heroine and slight disaster, in this one though we also have the heart wrenching agony of Emma's illness - which of course is all the more devistating as its based on real events. I'm not ashamed to admit I cried more than a few tears! 😪 But don't for one minute think it's a depressing read because in true Giulia style she somehow turns it into something truly inspirational. Although you *could* read it as a stand alone, it truly gives you a more immersive, fully invested, read if you follow them in order and they're all SO brilliant - why wouldn't you want to read them all?! Now I just have to sit and patiently wait for the next in the series *SIGH* 😫
Emma- she’s awesome. The emotional toll that Big C plays is real and her entire life changed from that first date like rapid fire.
Burg- loved how he stepped up. He knew right away about her and steamrolled his way in. PTSD is real and I loved how Cazzo and Vanessa moved in. Those are true family moments.
3 stars were for all the other guys. The more girls they have the funnier these scenes play out. Seriously the day care center, I can’t wait to read about the interviews for that! I love seeing them all be a family and support one another- especially the kids.
The girls are also awesome. They become a sisterhood and step up. They’re not afraid to tell the men how fucking stupid they are. I was surprised that Lindsey tackled Burg in the kitchen!
Super random with Derek and Claire’s almost epilogue part. Then Cash was there?? Random.
I say it every time. Knight is the best! Finger print scanner on the pack n play 😂😂😂
This story begins with a rather typical "fall in love - move in together - get pregnant - married - have baby" before disaster strikes. It was hard to read about the health issue, but it was treated sensitively and knowledgeably by the author. I expected another romantic suspense to be the major theme but it was 3/4 of the book before anything like that happened, and then again in the nice bonus chapter. Since romantic suspense is my favorite genre, I was a tiny bit disappointed. But overall I was very, very glad to have read this book since I am now more careful about what I say to someone struggling with a major health problem, and more prepared to deal with it myself if it ever occurs with myself, my family, or my friends. I highly recommend this book.

They fell in love hard and fast and neither saw the other one coming. Blake know he can’t live another day without Emma at his side, ss always, the rest of the team make it interesting trying to explain how women work when Blake want to ask Emma to move in with him, but he doesn’t care he still wants her with him even after such a short time. Blake gets protective while Emma’s pregnant, from the morning sickness to her carrying anything, driving Emma crazy and wanting to kill him. Everything was perfect, only Emma wasn’t feeling the best after having Ryker and a routine examination changes, everything. Blake knew he could fight anything, he could protect anyone but, this was something he couldn’t help, your shown every emotion they go through, every struggle, as they both battle with their friends and family by their side.
Blake is a member of the Reed Security team. When he laments over the families his teammates have, his friend sets up a profile on a singles dating site for him. Then while he is looking at his matches, he spots Emma’s picture and contacts her for a date. Emma’s girlfriend has done the same for her because she wants her not to be lonely. Their first date is a disaster, but Blake decides she is everything he has been waiting for and makes reparations. Their relationship moves along a super sonic speed and she is moved in, pregnant and married. After the baby she finds out that she has a rare, aggressive breast cancer in an advanced stage with very low remission if they through the treatment. The entire Reed family surrounds them in love and support. This was a very moving book in the series and is worth the read. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book
The tenth book in the Reed Security Series is all about Blake and Emma and it is one emotional read due to the subject matter. Blake, aka Burg, met Emma, the love of his life, through a dating app. They had it all: love, marriage and a baby making their family complete. However, all that glitters is not gold when tragedy strikes and Emma is diagnosed with stage four breast cancer. This is one story that needs to be read as words will not do it justice. This is one book that will hit readers differently as many will be able to relate to the severity of the disease and the emotions that the patient deals with. The author does an incredible job highlighting the effects this disease has not only on the patient but the family and friends as well. I highly recommend this book and the rest of the series. I volunteered to read a copy of this book.
