It’s Christmastime in Marietta, and at Wayfarers Inn the season is in full swing. When the final touches of LuAnn Sherrill’s decorations blow a fuse, she and Realtor Brad Grimes look for a way not to overload the circuits—or sacrifice any of her hard work. But after an antique mirror crashes to the floor in one of the guest rooms, their mission is temporarily forgotten as they try to figure out what caused it to fall. As more mysterious mishaps occur, LuAnn and her friends begin to wonder if someone is trying to sabotage the inn.
Amid all the chaos, LuAnn deals with the unexpected loneliness of her first Christmas since her mother died. When she finds a little dog scratching at the inn’s back door, and that little dog leads her to a kitten, she finds her grief a bit more bearable. But where did the duo come from? And can she convince her friends—especially Tess, who takes an uncharacteristic dislike to the furry pair—to let them stay for good?
Award-winning, bestselling author Kim Vogel Sawyer told her kindergarten teacher that someday people would check out her book in the library. The little-girl dream came true in 2006 with the release of Waiting for Summer's Return. Kim's titles now exceed 1.5 million copies and are available in six different languages. A former elementary school teacher, she now enjoys a full-time writing and speaking ministry. Kim's passion lies in writing stories that point the reader to a deeper, more intimate relationship with God. When Kim isn't writing, you'll find her traveling with her retired military hubby, spoiling her granddarlings, petting the cats, quilting, or--as time allows--participating in community theater. This is another in the Secrets of Wayfarers Inn from Guidepost. I mostly enjoy these books. They are all written by different authors, so you never really know what you are going to get. In this one there are several mysteries going on at the same time. The characters are likeable and relatable. Three friends running an Inn. I liked the way this one was written. Pets were introduced; a dog named Huckleberry and a kitten named Tom. Corny but cute.
The Inn Crowd are getting closer to Christmas & they find a shaggy dog who has adopted a kitten. The friends take them in out of the cold. The Inn is doing a great business but several things go awry which they try to figure out.
Christmas is in the air and all at the Inn is about the decorations and plans for the holiday. In the meantime, strange things are going on and the three ladies have to put their heads together to work it out. In the end it is all to their benefit and everyone is happy for the season.
This book was ok but what really got me was the main culprit did what they did for the most ridiculous reason and they all laughed it off! Like what? Even bugging the inn. That’s a felony in some states. Just crazy to me.
