No-nonsense homicide detective Kelli McCabe and respected doctor Nora Whitmore’s life together is far from settled or boring. Even though work has separated them by more than a thousand miles, the heat they share hasn’t been dampened one bit. They’ve just found a way to work around the distance.
A sexy and amusing short story (5,000 words) from KD Williamson’s best-selling Cops and Docs series. Free from Ylva Publishing https://www.ylva-publishing.com/produ...
KD (aka Minerva/Rizzleslvr72) is a Southerner and a former nomad, taking up residence in the Mid-West, east coast, and New Orleans over the years. She is also a Hurricane Katrina survivor. Displaced to the mountains of North Carolina, she found her way back to New Orleans, where she lives with her partner of ten years and the strangest dogs and cats in existence. KD enjoys all things geek, from video games to super heroes. She is a veteran in the mental health field working with children and their families for over ten years. She found that she had a talent for writing as a teenager, and through fits and starts, fostered it over the years.
Ah crap. Don’t you hate it when Goodreads eats your brilliant review? Now what did I write?
4.5 Stars rounded up to 5 STARS for this short story with one way phone & FaceTime sex. This is a return of Kelli & Nora from books 1 & 2
Det. Kelli is missing her GF, Nora. Nora, a surgeon is away for her first medical conference- which I thought would be unlikely it would be her first. But considering her personality & focus on her patients - maybe. Anyway, Kelli is missing her so much that her work partner, Travis notices she is surlier than normal.
Kelli & Travis are on a stakeout when she gets a call from Nora. Travis proceeds to put on earphones to give them privacy. Nora sends photos & FaceTimes getting Kelli hot & bothered. Travis tells her “I don’t know what Nora said to you but you have a goofy-ass look on your face. Then offers her a moist towelette. 😀

Am I the only one who read this and then got mad when it turned out that the last 1/4 of the book were synopses of KD's other books?
Luce already wrote a great review about what to expect in this short story about Nora and Kelli from Blurred Lines and Crossing Lines so definitely check that out.
Even if you're not familiar with the "Cops and Docs" series, you don't want to miss this scorching hot read that is definitely NSFW.
I usually don't give high rates to short stories but this one, it deserved it. Not because of the sex but, the character still had that attitude towards others and softness to her partner. I have read short stories where the authors focus on the meaning of the short story that the characters feel different from how they were in their major books.
Kelli is still hot and bitchy and cool and hot for Nora. And damn, what they did, hahaha, I would have to be drunk to do that.
It was a wonderful to glimpse into Kelli & Nora life again. It was very hot but way too short. I would love the read another story with them as the main characters again.
Very steamy read. Two lovers not able to see each other for a week due to one being out of town for a conference. A FaceTime call quickly gets out of hand as one of the ladies is sitting in the car next to her colleague! The two women have a magnetic connection and the colleague has a good sense of humor and is good at respecting boundaries. Very sexy quick read
I've finally decided to read the sequel to Kelli and Nora's story, and I read this one right after 'Crossing Lines.' I still do not know whom should I feel sorry for, Kelli or Travis. LOL
The books were really good. I don't find many books that has a slow progress on relationships. Honestly you see a lot that just jumps straight to sex right after they meet but this one is well done.
Hot! This particular and short story was part of an anthology and it made me search for the series and i seem to be hooked so far. Great writing and really hot scenes.
I don't get tired reading from these two, and was so happy to see they were still going strong after this while.
Williamson sure knows how to distract with the "uptight" Dr. Whitmore, and the easy going and no nonsense Detective MacCabe during a night neither of us is ready and willing to forget.
