N.M. Howell is a USA Today bestselling author and all-around nerd from the Pacific Northwest. She has an obsession with coffee, spicy food, and the rain, and she absolutely hates sleeves. (Seriously, they're like little fabric prisons!) When not locked away in her writing cave, you'll likely find her either wandering the world, lost in the woods, or fighting with her micro-wolf pup over who gets the best spot on the couch. Hint: the dog wins.

Greed, cake and magic

A much better book. Better paced, great ending even if part of the solution was obvious from the beginning. The characters too have gotten into the groove and have developed into believable parts of the story.
Jordan has purchased the coffee shop and together with his friend are going to open a dessert bar. The biggest surprise is that she knows the partners wife. Her own life has slipped a couple of notches with the employment of Zac she has been more or less demoted into a junior role. At home everyone is busy with their landlady's annual party. But the night of the party ends in disaster with the death of Jordan's partner. A death caused by black magic in a cookie which leads to the arrest of their favourite baker. The residents of the house refuse to believe that she is guilty and try to trace the spell to where it originated. Can they find it? Who bought it? How can they prove it? What will happen to her job at the paper now?

I am not really into young adult books anymore. But, because I have a fascination with witches and mystery, this book caught my attention. N.M Howell is incredibly fun and talented, I could not put the book down at any time and the mystery kept wanting me to read more! I cannot wait to finish the trilogy. Anyone looking for a fun mystery, I highly recommend this.book!!

Cute cozy read

I love a cute cozy seasonal read. These are fun mysteries infused with a little magic and romance.

There were a few typos but nothing I couldn't figure out.
