Rate this book
Life is never easy for those with the strength to change the world.

These are their stories.

Inquisitor

When Allison is asked to play Cinderella-turned-Fianceé at a Halloween ball, the last thing she expected was to be accused of murder. She has to find the killer or she'll be put to death for the crimes she didn't commit. To make matters worse, the victims are all werewolves.

On the short list of potential victims, Allison has to act fast, or the killer will have one more body to add to his little black book of corpses.

Winter Wolf

When Nicole dabbled in the occult, she lost it all: Her voice, her family, and her name. Now on the run from the Inquisition, she must prove to herself — and the world — that not all wizards are too dangerous to let live.

Blood Diamond

The world is full of corpses, and Jackson knows them by name. When a group strives to destroy the Inquisition, his powers may be all standing between the supernaturals and extinction.

Silver Bullet

Finished with being a victim, Vicky will do everything in her power to put an end to Basin once and for all, even if it means she must make the ultimate sacrifice and bite a silver bullet for the sake of her family, her friends, and the rest of the supernatural world.

This collection also contains Tales of the Winter Wolf Vol. Six.

RJ Blain suffers from a Moleskine journal obsession, a pen fixation, and a terrible tendency to pun without warning.

When she isn't playing pretend, she likes to think she's a cartographer and a sumi-e painter. In reality, she herds cats and a husband, and obeys the commands of Tsu Dhi, the great warrior fish.

In her spare time, she daydreams about being a spy. Should that fail, her contingency plan involves tying her best of enemies to spinning wheels and quoting James Bond villains until she is satisfied.

Reviewed at Book 1 for the series. I enjoyed Book 1 well enough but did find each book got better, so if there are things that put you off in 1, stick with it.

https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Inquisitor is listed as Book 2, but starts the collection and I did like the order of the collection - read them as presented there. Off to pick up the Witch & Wolf books that are not part of the collection - and that really says something.

I’ll add that usually I REALLY ding a book for typos. This author’s blog mentions she ALWAYS sends books to editors and she may need a new one. There aren’t a lot of typos - but you will find the instead of them and perhaps one or two very minor errors per book in this series Not marking down for it as this series really is a bargain and fun read.

Allison learns that someone is killing werewolves and she has been framed for their murders. Allison must find out who is killing the werewolves and why they want to place the blame on her before she becomes the next one on the list.

Nicole is a wizard and is being hunted by the Inquisition. The world thinks that wizard are too deadly to let live. Nicole wants to prove to the world that she is not dangerous. She just wants to live a normal life like everyone else. With the world wanting her dead Nicole has to live her life in secret and hope everyday that she will not be discovered.

Jackson wasn’t supposed to participate in the killing of the Fenerec he was only there to drive his brother’s truck known as the Red Beast. But things don’t always go as planned. Jackson finds a young female Fenerec that has been injured. Jackson is not the kind of person to not help someone in need. Besides he doesn’t have anything against the Fenerec as he was married to one.

Vicky, a Fenerec wakes to find that she is now a squirrel. She has no idea why she is now squirrel as she is not supposed to be one. Vicky vows to find out who turned her into a squirrel and why.

I love this world of the Witch & Wolves and all the characters. I love how they interact with each other. I love their personalities. I love how they lose it when their mate is in trouble. The love and compassion is so thick you can feel it coming off the pages.

Witch & Wolf: The Complete Series is a fast paced read that had me hooked from the first page. It is action packed from beginning to end. The action just keeps on rolling with twists after twists that keeps you guessing right up to the end. Witch & Wolf has witches, wizards and werewolves with a few twists added in. I love the twist on witches and wolves and their magic and how it works.

I would recommend Witch & Wolf: The Complete Series to all paranormal fans especially anyone who are into witches, wizards and werewolves. One click your copy of Witch & Wolf: The Complete Series today!

Overall, I enjoyed this four-book collection. It did have some problems, especially in the second book, but it had great characters and interesting world-building. The books feature different main characters, whose stories eventually intersect and interweave together.

In the first book, we are introduced to Vicky, an old, loner werewolf (Fenerec) who was once controlled, used, and abused by the Inquisition to track and kill others of her own kind, as well as different types of magic users and other kinds of creatures. Her only real friend is a witch, but even she only knows some of Vicky's secrets. Vicky is framed for murder and must try to figure out who is behind the frame and why. There is a lot of tension and suspense in this book. I liked this one.

In the second book, an actress named Nicole is afraid of her magical powers getting out of control and hurting someone or exposing her abilities to the Inquisition and signing her death warrant. Nicole is aware of the Fenerec, having been born to Fenerec parents. However, she doesn't want anything to do with them, especially after being raised by an overbearing Fenerec father and a mother she remembers as submissive to him. And then, her twin sister decided to become one and leave her alone in the regular human world. Nicole also suffers from partial amnesia resulting from a car accident some time ago. A guy appears to be murdered right in front of her. Nicole decides to investigate the murder. Lots of cool stuff happens. Then, the part I really hated about this book... the author's clear ignorance regarding viruses! OMG! Influenza viruses do not cause the common cold. We don't have vaccines to cold viruses, because there are a lot of them, and they rapidly mutate. Maybe in the magical world a virus can attract other viruses or attack other viruses, but they don't in the real world. Also, you can't see viruses in a handheld (light) microscope, let alone compare two versions of the same virus. Good grief! Etc... Finally, it didn't seem like the plague was actually cured in this book, but it disappeared in the next book, so I guess it was. I liked the characters, action, and suspense, but this book has problems.

There is a short story or novella attached to this book that has Richard as the main character.

The Shadow Pope's twin brother Dante is the main character of the third book. The trouble begins when Dante decides to rescue an injured Fenerec female that the Inquisition has on its kill list. Romance, intrigue, and adventure ensues.

Vicky once again returns as the main character in the final book...as a squirrel, who can barely remember her name or that she isn't really a squirrel. It's funny when a squirrel thinks it should act like a wolf. LOL It turns out that she, Dante, and Evelyn went missing on an op. She showed up at her mate's house as a squirrel, which her alpha quickly realizes is actually Vicky. Why he nor any of the other characters can't recognize another character in the wrong form, when the reader is told again and again how this animal is clearly not behaving normally for its species is just annoying! If you can forgive the writer for this plot trope, then the rest of the book is enjoyable.

Not my favorite , but I finished it

Love this author but sometimes the dialogue felt very random or was repetitive or just not useful to the story. I think it was supposed to be humorous. It didn’t always reach that goal. Many times I just wanted the characters to get to the point.
Part of that is just the style of the author, which normally works out. This time it didn’t work as well in my opinion. I think some of the other books written by the author (like the body count series) are MUCH better. I’d definitely recommend them. This set of books had me walking away many times before I finally was able to finish it. On the plus side it wasn’t so awful I couldn’t finish it. Overall, I still like the author, and if you enjoy those other works, you can give this a try. However I’d never recommend this as the first thing to read by this author.

New fan

No spoilers...

The first in this series I would have given 3.5 too because of repetitions that annoyed me enough, I nearly let the book go.

I am very glad I didn’t.

The repetitions ended and the story soared. Each successive book became better until the final book which I can only describe as stellar.

Am now tootling off to Amazon to get another of her reads, because DAMN, this was fun and I want, no NEED more.

The author takes the usual werewolf and witch characters and storylines and turns them on their heads. We are given characters who are entirely too fun to be all that fearsome, despite their personal challenges, difficulties, trials and tribulations and the involvement of third parties who apparently do not comprehend the concept of peaceful coexistence. Personally, I want to discuss business with Richard and Dante; I could use some pointers!

Four in one means four times the fun!

This collection contains four fabulous books from the Witch and Wolf world and includes Nicole’s, Dante’s, and Victoria’s stories (Vicky gets two.) These books have all the things you want to make for an excellent read. There’s romance (fade to black), action, self-discovery, humor (of the snark variety), and unexpected twists. I love all of this author’s books and highly recommend any or all of them.

I really loved this series. Once I started reading I didn't want to put it down. Victoria Hanover's journey to meld her 3 personalities held me in suspense. There was romance straight out of a fifties movie, detective work, explosions, high body count, and warm fuzzy feelings from warm furry bodies. Reminded a little of Harry Dresden.

Enjoyable

I enjoyed this series. Though I did not always follow the logic behind everything and there is definitely story points that are skipped over i you d the imagination and humor of the writer to make up for it. I will read more from this author. I only wish they were part of KU.

Witch and Eolf

The witch and wolf series is about, well, witches and wolves. Some of which are both. The series is very intriguing. There is an Inquisition to deal with rouges, and everyone has their issues!

Excellent!

If, like many of the rest of us, you are self isolating a little more right now, this is a perfect series to read. Hours of pack, mayhem, snark, witches, werewolves, more snark and sarcasm, humor, love, good (or mostly good) vs. Evil, and did I mention heavy sarcasm?

Speculative fiction incorporating, magic (what else?) and shifters/werewolves, the Inquisition. I had my doubts, but a person I trust implicitly said I'd love it -- she was right. RJ Blain delivers scapist literature at its best.

Exciting and fun with HEA

This is a wonderfully connected series, each with its own HEA. While danger lurks, the good guys win and save the day. Not always a happy story, but one that feels real and true.

Witch & Wolf

There are so many varying pathways in these character's lives I had to work to keep up. So many puns and appropriate jokes and resulting actions to enjoy!

A good winter read

This was a good winter read. Think of each book as as a stand alone story building a larger novel. Great character development.

The only problem is the ending. It doesn't finish the story line, so I don't know if there is another book in the works.

Addictive series. VERY frustrating that the books here are in the wrong order. READ Winter Wolf BEFORE Inquisitor! Some problems that could have been fixed by smart editing but enough action, humour, contemplation, good feeling that it's well worth the purchase.
