Blurb: She wants a new life, free from her past. He wants his old life back before everything went wrong. What they really need is each other.
Emma's ex broke her heart and left her broke, making her desperate for a job. A local gym manager asks her to fill in as an assistant after multiple employees failed to show up on Christmas Day. Mistake number one: bringing cookies for her new co-workers. Mistake number two: asking, rather loudly, who'd work out on a holiday?
Will's modeling career put him on the map. His money kept him there. Now he's a health and fitness celebrity, filling his gyms, even on Christmas. But a series of losses caused the media to name him the billionaire playboy. When he arrives at his New York City location, his agent suggests his new assistant help him restore his reputation.
The cookie-baking girl. The protein shakes drinking dude. The one who doesn't work out. The one with abs of steel.
Emma and Will couldn't be more different except they both have secrets to hide and promises to keep. They could work together to fix their lives but the only problem is they hate each other and both make mistake number three: not knowing whom to trust.
I'm very confused as to why this book as 4.28 stars on here. Let's cut to the chase, shall we? PROS - Emma is a very sweet character who strikes me as someone who has been wronged, but is sincerely trying to make it better. Her relationship with her sister manages to be relatable and sweet, especially because they bake cookies together! Will seems like a pretty great guy who genuinely wants to redo his life but doesn't know how. Will's fortune doesn't seem staged or forced; it really did feel like he'd worked for it from the ground up. CONS- I swear, most of this book was telling, not showing. Not to mention, to make the storytelling seem subtle, the author threw in only tiny bits of facts at a time. Instead of being woven into the narrative masterfully, these random bits and bobs (not to mention the subject-hopping that was already occurring) made me confused rather than intrigued. I didn't know who people were until 3/4ths into the book. They hopped around locations so many times that I'm not sure where they were half of the time. Because of this, I had no clue Will was British until half-way through. He also didn't strike me as "British." Maybe because he didn't drink tea, but whatevs. Their relationship makes NO. SENSE. I can see a manager wanting someone to "clean up their act" and go steady with a gal, sure. But hiring an assistant who is ALSO the fake girlfriend? Emma only was an actual assistant less than half the time, and the other half she did NOT act like his fact girlfriend. The relationship felt mostly attraction-based most of the time, due to Emma's strict no-personal-questions rule. That's fine, but she even bungled the questions rule. Don't go silent and stony, just tell somebody you've been hurt and you didn't want to talk about it because it was too painful. Then move on! Also, Will not revealing anything was silly, too. If both of them had actually talked to each other just once (not like at 80% of the way through) they would have had a great relationship from the start.
Overall, just...this book was okay. I felt that if it was developed a lot more, it could be a great Hallmark-movie-worthy book. Sadly, it stumbled to a start and kept fumbling the rest of the way. Good start, not there yet.
An interesting story with lots of really weird stuff happening from the early pages! Will and Emma have certainly had some very rocky roads with astounding damage to each of them in their prior relationships with other people! The biggest difference between them - Emma must get a job and try to dig out of the financial mess she has received. Will needs to try and improve his public image, but some things even billionaires cannot buy! A fake relationship with his new assistant just might be his way out of this travesty his former girlfriend has left for him. Intriguing story that pulls you in and keeps you turning the pages. A very clean story and I am looking forward to reading more books in this series! Great characters in this book. VICKI FROM WYOMING
I liked how they weren't instantly in love and that they didn't fake it in front of everyone they were around. It seemed more like an actual relationship developing. I thought it was realistic that he would take her to a club on his first date since that was where he felt comfortable. Then she communicated that she didn't like it. So it was looking like they were going to make some progress. However, the lack of sharing about their personal life held it back for me. They weren't able to grow as a person from spending time with each other. It just sorta happened while they were living in the same house as roommates.
I found this novel quite pleasurable and well thought out. It was excellent, wonderful and fabulous. This book had a different storyline than what I am typically used to and I enjoyed the uniqueness. Change, especially with a well known plot, is always a good thing.
This story was longer, very complex, and not rushed as many books tend to be now-a-days. The love story between the main characters can be described as truly enduring. It was a match that was thrown together, but also one that grew and developed over time together.
I usually like my romance books a bit more lusty than this one. I think it’s a a natural part of a relationship, even in the flirty stage but there was zero sexy chemistry in this book. I got to about 90% before I realised it just wasn’t going to happen. Don’t get me wrong. There was a nice bit of PG-13 chemistry between the couple but it kind of fizzled out for me. If that kind of romance is for you this book is a good one. If you’re more of an adult like me, just be warned. 🙂
Billionaire meets Emma and though difficult finds live
Will meets Emma as he finds out she is his assistant. While working on Christmas Day, their love story begins and by New Years party, they are almost inseparable. While at the New Years party he kisses her and realizes that the planned romance should be real and finds out his publicist and ex-girlfriend have been making him look bad. Good bnb story of a couple who almost wasn't thanks to the publicist and ex-girlfriend.
Cute short timeframe story about Emma going for a job At a gym on Christmas day to becoming a fake girlfriend of a billionaire to falling hard in a short time. Will Wheaton is the gym owner/billionaire. Love his name. Love the way they go through their fake romance and all the emotions throughout this story. Both are just out of bad relationshiips. They are cute the way they work it out. Karma is funny. Love the ending.
This is a fun quick read. One of the best things you can say about Will is that he is full of himself or is he? Emma has had the rug pulled out from under her and is a unsure of herself or her feelings. Being hired to pretend to be Will’s girlfriend definitely takes her out of her comfort zone. What follows is a search for themselves in the midst of a world of fake. I enjoyed the book and getting to know Will and Emma.
Only a Kiss with a Billionaire was a fun, delightful, sweet read that makes you feel all the fizzy feelings! The pace is fast, but I think it's perfect for Will and Emma's story. I loved the settings (it's mostly London but it starts in NY), and how all the secondary characters were fleshed out too. Yes, at times the book made me want to shake some sense into both MCs, but hey, that's how you know the author is good ;)
Such a cute story, it just brought me a huge smile. I enjoyed the characters, Emma is a fiesty girl trying to start over and Will is very handsome and charming and the interaction between them was delightful. I really enjoyed how she was so insistent on doing things her own way and facing her fears and staying strong throughout her challenges. It was fun to see how something that was supposed to be pretend turned into something real.
Honestly, I never tire of this storyline. Guy needs to be in a fake relationship, girl needs money and fills the position. After being thrown together they learn details about each other and true feelings develop.
This book also tugs at your heart strings. It’s a tale of love, loss, betrayal, and trust. It’ll transport you.
He didn't just bail on Emma. He also ruined her credit, broke her heart, and even demolished her professional career. She didn't just bail on Will. She also cheated on him and made it appear that he was a scoundrel. Now Will has to fix his reputation in a hurry. His agent suggests that his newly hired assistant be urged to be his fake fiancee. And then . . .
I was so taken with these characters. I started reading to wind down but couldn't put it down. It is funny, sad, touching, and emotional. I was so happy with the HEA ending! A wonderfully written story that pulls on your heartstrings and gives you hope in the promise of a never-ending love.
Emma and Will seemed like the perfect couple after you chiseled away their tough exterior. Both had been tricked by exes and had their hearts broken, which made them bitter towards the opposite sex. Landing a job as a personal assistant/fake girlfriend was the best thing for both of them.
I love both Emma and Will. They are so very flawed with realistic issues. I feel for them and want to make it all better. I would be happy to know them and be friends. It was great when they were able to learn and grow and overcome some of their flaws. But I really wanted an epilogue with a proposal on a remote island!
I love billionaire romances and was super excited to start this series. Plus, centered at holiday time? So much better! A fun and enjoyable storyline. Wonderful characters and lovely setting. I truly loved reading this wonderful, special, clean romance.
I received this book for free from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This a great story about overcoming loss and betrayal. Emma is getting over being used by her ex-boyfriend and needs a job. Will is getting over his ex-girlfriend and he thinks he needs to clean up his public persona. They meet and learn about overcoming obstacles and finding love again.
This is a simply beautiful and heartwarming romance with adorable characters and a charming powerful story of self worth and forgiveness too as they journey towards true love.
He needed to fix his reputation and she needed money to pay off debt but somehow it starts to feel real. Sweet clean romance that will keep you reading until the end.
Was a super cute book to read. Really hard to put down. A must read for anyone who loves a clean read with a little bit of ‘fizz’. You will get that comment when you read the book. 😉
The setup was good, but the execution was strange. It was hard to tell if the leads even really liked each other they were both so hot and so cold, and the plot points seemed completely random sometimes. I didn’t finish.
This was a fun clean romance. I am enjoying following all these characters and seeing where they all lead. I really enjoyed Will and thought the plot and character development was well done.
This was a good book. The storyline was great & it was written. The characters were also great. It was one of thr better billionaires books. The story had a different twist to it.
A nice book I got for free on Kindle. It was cute and sweet. I was also very happy to see that it was clean. I do wonder about all these young, single, attractive billionaires that seem to inhabit the world of books. Anyway, a great book for reading during a quarantine.
Cute, clean and sweet romance. Both characters have been dumped by their significant other. I liked that Emma didn't let Will run all over her. Fun watching them get to know each other, and I loved near the end when Will finds out what two people are up to and they get what they deserve.
She’s Ben dumped by her fiancé and is now broke and living on her sisters couch. He needs a fake girlfriend and asks her because she’s different than the members of his crowd. He’s a billionaire but she’s not impressed. Can fake turn to real?
