In a world of work where recruiters are constantly hearing that their role is at risk from AI, robotics and chatbots, it has never been more important to effectively attract and recruit the right people. Leveraging the power of social media and digital sourcing strategies is only part of the solution, and simply posting a job or sending a LinkedIn InMail is no longer enough.

I absolutely love this book. Working in the recruitment industry for a very long time, you can sometimes get stuck in your lane, and not expand your mind.
What Katrina has done here, is put together over 70 industry experts, building a book of knowledge to move recruitment forward into a world that is ever changing with technology.

If you work somewhere in the the recruitment process, from hiring manager to External recruiter and all inbetween. I highly recommend you reading this book.

Very helpful book with good, relevant advice. As a recruiter myself, I get inspired by Katrina’s passion for the job and for delivering great experience for both candidates/ clients. She has put her experience into useful guidelines for recruiters to build personal branding, and she also helps to review the principles of talent acquisition process.

In The Robot-Proof Recruiter, Katrina Collier (eloquently) puts into the words my frustrations with recruiting and HR leaders who use technology like a silver-bullet rather than one of many tools. Page after page, Collier illustrates the importance of returning humanity to work as a compliment to rapidly advancing technology and significant power shifts from the employer toward the candidates and employees.

At first, I saw The Robot-Proof Recruiter as a book intended to shift perspective on technology and artificial intelligence tools. By the end of the book, I realized it is a modern field guide for recruiters & sourcing professionals that provides step-by-step instructions on how to survive in a tech-obsessed world.

This book should be highlighted, dog eared, and have notes scribbled throughout. It's a book that should be taken in wholly but can also be referenced later by chapter. The author uses permalinks to reference sources and extra reading in a way that allows you to access a curation of the most relevant content about recruiting & sourcing in the past few years.

I would highly recommend this book as a desk reference guide for each HR leader, recruiter & sourcing professional in your organization. I would also recommend The Robot-Proof Recruiter for anyone trying to understand how to thrive in the human world where others argue their skills won't be relevant as tech continues to advance.

Reading The Robot-Proof recruiter reminded me of how great it is to be working in the talent acquisition and recruitment industry - the community of practitioners that Katrina has crowdsourced for this exceptional book is really inspiring! With Katrina's common theme of #BeHuman she provides the reader with her opinions and observations from a successful career and underpins these with facts, a wealth of reference material and she continues to challenge the thinking of what it is to be a talent acquisition and recruitment professional in 2019.

This book is for everyone that has the responsibility for hiring - this includes in-house HR and Talent Acquisition and Recruitment team members, Hiring Managers, HRD's all the way up to CEO's - your people make your company and Katrina covers every aspect of ensuring you are a people-centric company that will continue to grow and thrive in every competitive market. This book is SO important right now. In #robotproofrecruiter, Katrina Collier gives her readers not only a much-needed gut-punch perspective that details the multitude of ways in which many recruiters are failing both their candidates and clients/employers, she forces the proverbial mirror in front of the conscientious recruiting professional, who will likely find himself/herself in a contact state of introspection asking "am I doing this?".

Unlike many writers who fixate only on the reasons traditional recruiters are globally loathed, Katrina provides a resolution that comes in the form of a single-source compilation of relevant and effective best practices. She gifts the reader with access to conversations and insights that she has gleaned from industry experts, all effectively referenced. She poses important questions and offers creative (and current) answers to questions that many recruiting professionals already have. This isn't another standard "how to" manual...this is a call to action. Katrina clearly wants to create a legion of BETTER recruiters who produce higher quality placements resulting in a happier (and more productive) workforce.

Moving forward, I will ensure that every member of any team I manage receives a copy of this book. I'm NOT sharing mine.

Are you a Recruiter worth talking to? This is my favourite question that Katrina asks continuously throughout her book. This is such a great question because if you do not stand out as a Recruiter worth talking to, you may as well leave the Profession. I COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN! This book is an amazing read for anyone who is starting out on their career journey in Recruitment to someone who is a seasoned player in the game who thinks that they 'know it all!'. The research and time that Katrina has invested in this book is quite phenomenal! She substantiates all of her work with real-life examples from Key Players in this industry. It really is such a privilege to see my name mentioned in this incredible book. Thank you for taking the time to write this book, Katrina - our industry is enriched by having this book to guide us!

Apart from a few paragraphs and the reaction of the author when I shared what I didn't like, I enjoyed the book. It's fairly easy to read (but do not get it as an ebook from the publisher... It wouldn't work on my e-reader) and contains lots of examples. Ironically, it seems to focus a lot on the tools and technology you can use in recruitment, but considering the number of tools out there it's nice to get details about a couple of options. Lots of recruiters are quoted, to give you a wide perspective on the topics discussed. Definitely recommend this for people within the industry.

A very good book that not only underlines the basics of recruitment and sourcing professionals but also encourages people to see talent acquisition as a fully dedicated field with plenty to do and to develop.

For all the new recruiters, this is a must-have on your library but not also for hiring managers who might consider that recruitment is a basic process or wanting to know how they can also use best recruitment practices to bring better talent to your team.

As author said these days recruites are required to wear so many hats: hats of sourcers, recruiters, marketers, community builders... And you should know that this book is all about to understand on how to wear these hats successfully in a way to still stay a recruiter worth talking to. I've just finished reading it, but I believe will revisit it over and over again 🙏

A very good guide for a beginner recruiter in the corporate world. And should be treated like that. Read if you feel you are behind recruitment trends or if you want to see working tools of another recruiter. Catchy title is the reason I bought the book but I am afraid it won't save recruiters from AI.

Katrina is human. Recruiting is meant to be also and isn't. Why and how could a robot take over if a human is trying and failing? Let's be human in recruiting, why? Because we are all human. Well....at least I'd like to think so 🤔😉

It's a book about recruiting so it can be dry at times, but the author does a terrific job of breaking out the chapters to properly fit the various topics. I have been in the recruiting industry for 10+ years and this is easily one of the better resources I've read!
