Shine: Sparkling with God's Love

Rate this book

Objects sparkle not on their own, but reflect the light that shines upon it, it's not individual who shine. Rather, that sparkle is Christ shinking through the individual. For six weeks, the book talks about what God’s sparkle looks like. You will find stories, journal prompts, and discussion questions to find out how we can shine the Gospel of Jesus to His people.

Any amazing read for Moms and daughters or for a youth leader to use for small group. It is relatable, sincere, current and inspiring. My girls went through it with me and they enjoyed how much they could relate to the stories that Christina shared as she led them on a journey to search their hearts and understand their personal relationship with Jesus during this challenging time in their lives. I would highly recommend. This book!

What an amazing gift to read this book with my daughter. Christina has such a great grasp of the teenaged daughter-mother relationship. This is a must read!!

This has prompted the most amazing conversations between my daughters and myself. Even though it is written to the girls and for the girls, I see my friends in the stories and I see myself. I love that Christina summarizes the Bible passage and talks about it in a way that reminds the reader quickly to allow for an easier read.

Shine is a wonderful tool for them to turn to when they question things going on in their lives and as they try and navigate through their teen years! Both of my daughters enjoyed this book because it relates so well to what they are experiencing and what they see others experiencing as well. It’s tough being a girl and they need to know that God loves them no matter what!

As a mom with a homeschooling daughter, I felt this book missed the mark a little bit. Theologically, it was excellent. I think the tone and examples are likely spot on for public school teens. But my sixteen year old daughter doesn't have boyfriend issues or bullying woes. If my daughter were in a public school setting and dealing with more of the examples used, I'd likely give it five stars.

Loved this book! The way it is written is completely relatable to teens and a reminder of those years for moms.

She does a fantastic job of pointing everything back to Jesus and reminding the girls of where their shininess comes from and why they glitter.
