The story is about Travis and Emerald.
He's a billionaire. After his father died, he goes to a small town, Moss Creek, to settle the ancestral home of his deceased grandfather. He never plans to stay and on his last day in town, he goes to a bar she owns, she gets his attention and they have a great night together. Will he stay for her or is he trying to get her out of his system and leave after?
The story's good. But he's not the 'man who knows what he wants' kind of man. I still enjoyed it.
It has nice epilogue.

Travis’ dad left Moss Creek for college and never looked back, he built an empire on his own and died at his desk. Travis wanted to see where his dad grew up, sell the estate, then leave town never to return. On his way out of town he stopped by the local bar and that’s when he saw Emerald. She took his breath away with her beauty, something he wasn’t expecting to find in such a small town. Two old men at the bar were only too happy to share Emerald’s story with Travis and he found himself having feelings for her. Emerald has been accused of being a prude so it was completely unlike her to bring a stranger into her bed. The night she spent with Travis made her realize all she was missing with Dale. Travis had every intention of leaving town but after a night with Emerald he started rethinking all his plans. This book was really sweet, I loved the reference to Elizabeth Taylor because even though my mother is a horrible person she looked identical to Ms. Taylor when she was younger.

Jordan Silver’s books always make me smile. They’re steamy and sexy and full of testosterone fueled alpha men that you wish existed in real life.
Travis completely fits this description and he is exactly what Emerald needs after being jilted at the altar by her ex fiancé.
This was a fun and fast read that I’m sure I will be re-reading again in the future.

This book is why Ms Silver is one of my favourites. I love the way she spins her story of scorned women and how they move on from their mistakes.
This was good and the spice better. I like Cecil and his partner in crime. What I also loved was the small town vibes and the whole getting in your business.

wish it was longer
Would have loved this to have been longer. I’m all for instalove but they barely did anything even close to talking, which is fine but then to go to the “I love yous” felt like it came out of left field. Maybe a solid “I want you let’s see where this goes” lol ok so that was my only complaint.

From beginning to end this was a great book. Jordan Silver has written this book like she had her first books. I loved the characters and their chemistry. I only wished it was longer to read. I hope more books come from her sooner rather than later.
