An amateur detective in a retirement community looks into a mysterious disappearance—includes instructions for a memory quilt! Moving into the Cunningham Village retirement community was an adjustment, but Sarah Miller is a survivor, and she’s made a whole new life for herself there—new friends, new hobbies, and even new love after mourning the loss of her husband. She also seems to have acquired a new knack for solving crimes. Now, just as she plunges into a project making memory quilts for Alzheimer’s patients, one of Sarah’s friends has gone missing—and she’s being told to leave the case to the professionals. But Sarah intends to put the pieces together and sew up this mystery…
What a joy this book is. With each quilt themed saga I have enjoyed the mysteries and getting to know the characters. They are all about family, friendship and quilting.
Missing Memories is a book that concerns Alzheimer sufferers. Sarah's friend Ruth goes missing and when the Police are called Sarah becomes more worried than usual.
I loved the drama of this novel, the quilters are inspired by the Alzheimer Quilt convention and with Prison convicts, the FBI and fidget quilts, this intense read made a morning of reading quite fabulous.
Of course all the books in the series include quilt instructions. The one that is shown on the cover of this book is exceptionally pretty. A fidget quilt that can be made and gifted to a loved one, made with love and serving a purpose makes it all the more special.
Another great book in the series......this one deal with swindles, loan sharks, Amish life, community and Alzheimer's and of course quilting.
I really didn't see this coming as the plot was worked out. This was a book with no murder to solve but there was a mystery to solve.
I like how these books always ALWAYS have a happy ending. I know it's fake but in our country's current state of affairs this is a great book to get lost in for a few hours and have a smile on your face.
Sarah and Ruth head to Chicago for a weekend of quilts shows and fun. They never expected their weekend to end the way it did. The quilters worked on “fidget quilts “ in the episode. My mother in law was taken from us due to dementia. I made her a fidget quilt and it was the one thing that could bring her back even for a short time.
I think these books are getting better each time. This one was suspenceful in an easier way. There's no gore, swearing or sicko stuff. It's more about the community and a mystery. An easy read that I am doing for Book Club and finished in 3 days. In the end there is a pattern to make the quilt talked about in the book.
I love this series! Even if you wind up reading out of sequence as I have these are people you wish were your friends. I don't even quilt so I have to research some of the terms but the joy in creating something to share is contagious and puts good vibes out into the world. Hoping to find more that are new to me. Thank you
I have been enjoying this series until this book. The entire premise of this book is unbelievable and the character development is digressing. Sad to see this happen and I hope it is a one-time slip.
I have read all eight books but still have unanswered questions. Does Martha marry timothy? Loved the series. Its great to read a book involving older spunky wonderful seniors would definetly recommend. Is another brewing?
