When love is ripped away, wrath invades my soul, blinding my vision and feeding my bloodlust—it feels like coming home.
*** This is Book #4 in The 7 series ***
7 authors, 7 novellas, 7 deadly sins.
1. PRIDE by Scott Hildreth 2. GREED by Geri Glenn 3. SLOTH by Max Henry 4. WRATH by Gwyn McNamee 5. ENVY by Kerri Ann 6. LUST by FG Adams 7. GLUTTONY by M.C. Webb
All the covers for this series are basically the same so all my comments will remain the same as well for each book. I like the cover on this one a lot. Obviously, it is a great representation of the story (and series). It has good composition and title work as well.
Oh man, so this novella was like a high octane Rambo movie. One brother is seeking his revenge against the other for daring to take someone he loves. It was pretty gruesome in parts, but I enjoyed it. It was well written and well paced. The plot was engaging and kept me turning the pages. I felt like maybe this was part of a series or maybe there was going to be a series about these characters?? I am not sure, but there seemed to be some backstory about these two brothers and Jade that is alluded to in this one. There were a couple of brief sex scenes that were hot. And the main character was interesting and likable. The ending though...No me gusta.
I'm not sure about this one. I feel like we are missing something, like what happened before Griffin and Jade became those people. I liked Griffin, can understand why he went scorched earth when Jade was taken.
This is a short read but totally engaging and really well written
Wrath is a quick read, under an hour, but don't let that stop you giving it a try. It's not a typical romance, given that the hero, Konstandin, and the heroine, Jade, are already together and in love.
The story starts with Jade being kidnapped and follows Konstandin's journey of retribution and rescue. With the exception of the epilogue, it is written solely from the hero's point of view, leaving you in no doubt of both his immense love for Jade, as well as his willingness to do anything to rescue her.
What follows is a tale of blood and violence, this is a darkly gritty read, though the only non-consent is implied rather than experienced/witnessed. Wrath held me utterly spell-bound, with it's fast pace, the connection I felt to Konstandin and just the wonderful quality of writing.
I just wish this had been longer, I didn't want it to end! Thankfully there is a second, related book in the series due out later in the year. Something to look forward too!
The hero & heroine were already together for 2 years when the story starts. Then Konstandin is taken to be tortured and Jade is kidnapped. The story is mostly Konstandin just trying to get her back and hunt down his brother.
I didn't like the ending and in the preview of the second book, another character said that Konstandin died. It makes me want to give this 2 stars instead... I ask myself what was the point of this book (novella) then?
If you're looking for a romance, you're not going to find it here. I got this book for free.
This was a short quick read that I liked. This was the first book in a new series too me. This is a story about Griffin and Jade who are in love and when Jade is kidnapped its an all out war. This was my first time reading this author. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
7 authors, 7 novellas, 7 deadly sins. Wrath is Book #4 in The 7 series. And holyshitdamnfuck woOow.
« War is brutal. It’s unforgiving and relentless. It makes men do things…things that can never be taken back or forgotten. »
Wrath is short, sharp, and so good. I didn’t want it to end. It’s about what we are capable of and what we are willing to sacrifice to keep our loved ones safe.
When love is ripped away, wrath invades his soul, blinding his vision and feeding his bloodlust. Fists crunch bone. Flesh tears. Blood flows. There is no regret. No remorse. No nagging conscience screaming at him. Nothing but the overwhelming sense of relief floods his body. But it doesn’t last. It can’t.
He is an animal. A killer. A mercenary. A sinner. Brother against brother. The same flesh and blood. This isn’t over. Not by a longshot. Then BoOom. All hell breaks loose.
Then I turn the page and this is the end. The fucking end. Arrggghhhh. This story is absolutely brilliant from start to finish. Brutal, gut-wrenching, but brilliant.
Bravissimo Mrs. McNamee.
Happy reading!

My Review of Wrath (The Seven #4) by Gwyn McNamee My Rating 4.5 Stars When I first saw this collection was coming to fruition I wanted to read them all, I wasn’t sure what I would be reading since it’s all the Seven Deadly Sins, and who knows where that could go within these pages. This was the first time I have read this author and I surely was not disappointed. On the run attempting to stay safe, this novella was like reading and watching an action-packed movie in my head. It had moments that were dark and gritty and for some might make them cringe. Griff and Jade's adventures is a page turner for sure. Great read! ** I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review from Author & EllewoodsPR**
Holy chit! I would give 10 hearts if I could - I was absolutely enthralled from start to finish You know how you tense up - that full body tense- when you get to a really good part in a thriller or a suspense? You are figuratively and possibly even literally on the edge - (yes, I have been known to sit up and grip the edge of the chair, like getting closer is somehow going to change things *eye roll here* Don't judge :0 ) White knuckling your kindle or gripping your book so hard you can feel the pages succumb to the pressure- Yeah, you do? That is this entire story in a nutshell! I read a complimentary copy of Wrath
Wrath is the first novel in the Deadliest Sins series. This is my tenth novel by this author.
Initially reading this, I felt like there some other part of the story that I had missed. The main characters had already fled and were trying to rebuild their lives but I wasn’t sure what had happened to them before.
Continuing to read, it didn’t matter what I missed. The story gave me flashbacks and bits of information to put some pieces together though not a full picture.
When his women is taken, Konstandin risks everything to rescue her even if it meant his own life.
I love this author and I will happily read everything she writes.
This was a short story of what we come to find out is an established couple on the run. They are together for the first few pages (mostly sex) and then the rest of the book is just the Male lead enduring torture, inflicting torture while chasing down and outwitting the villain to get his wife back. They aren't even together for half a page when the cliffy hits.
This is solely the POV of the male lead (I just finished reading this book and I can't remember his name!).
I didn't really find any romance or have any connection to the couple at all. Not really my cup of tea.
Wrath is the first book in The Deadliest Sin Series by Gwyn McNamee. This is about the fourth time I’ve read this book and I love it just as much as I did the first time it blew me away. This might be a short story, but it packs quite a punch. It is dark, erotic, raw, bloody, brutal, and action-packed. It is such a short read, and because quite a lot happens in such a short amount of time- reading this book was like being shot out of a cannon; flinging me into a heart pounding ride while I hung on for dear life, with all my senses on high alert…. And I loved every single second!!! Wrath is the deadliest sin, and this story/series explores how wrath can consume a person- and what they are capable of while in its grip. The story is full of passion, destruction, violence, insanity, festering hate, suspense, and revenge. Gwyn McNamee is one of my favourite authors, who can take any genre and deliver something that will completely enthrall me, every time. She’s such a brilliant storyteller, capturing my attention within moments of starting any of her stories and then taking me on a ride that will stay with me long after I’ve closed the book. This story is no different- and I especially loved how she worked and moulded the darkness of the theme. I think she wears darkness beautifully and this book/series is definitely one of my favourites of hers- ever. I would love to read more ‘dark’ stories from her in the future. Because the story is so short, it would be easy to spoil it for you by going into any detail- so I’m not going to explore any of the storyline here- I recommend diving in and letting Gwyn McNamee and the story blow you away. One of the best things about this series, for anyone who hasn’t read it yet, is that all the books are available to read right now- so no waiting between books!!! #WINNING Just Brilliant!
Holy freaking Hades! Gwyn McNamee has truly gone to the deep, dark, and gritty world of dark romance and she does it so darn well! Now, I will say that I am a massive fan of Gwyn McNamee’s and so I may be a bit biased with anything that she writes. I pick it up without a glance in a blurb because I KNOW it will be fantastic. However, this one quite possibly just turned into my absolute favorite book of hers. I’m not going to dive much into the details and whatnot because this book is brief (my only sadness and negative comment about this book.) but I will say this, be prepared for a dark, violent, and gruesome ride all while trying your damnedest to not fall in love with the antagonist. I wanted to not like Griff but honestly the way this man is when Jade is around is just too much I can’t help but adore these two together. So with that said I think I am going to leave this review with a repeat of the delicious blurb. I can’t even try to top perfection as far as summarizing things, nor could I bare to give away anything spoiling, so the blurb is what you get. I can’t wait to see what will come next in the following book. Thanks so much for the fantastic read Ms. McNamee!
All I see is red. Blood. Pain. Rage. It consumes me. The moment he took her, wrath invaded my soul. I only have one purpose. End him and take back what’s mine. Love isn’t always clean, and wrath is the deadliest sin. All I see is red. Blood. Pain. Rage. It consumes me. The moment he took her, wrath invaded my soul. I only have one purpose. End him and take back what’s mine. Love isn’t always clean, and wrath is the deadliest sin.
Griff and Jade are on the run; away from her arranged marriage and his violent past. Moving from place to place, they attempt to keep themselves safe, but still enjoy life. Denver Colorado seems like home to Griff; he’s happy here with Jade at his side. But betrayal arises, and Jade is stolen from him. Worse yet, Griff is being systematically tortured. All that remains is pain, fear for Jade, and rage…. Griff frees himself from the torturer, and death becomes a close companion. Finding out where Jade has been taken is a monumental task, but Griff won’t give up on the woman he loves. The woman that made his heart beat again, who gives him a reason to live. He was dead inside, an empty abyss, until the first time he saw Jade. Now, he has to rescue her from her captor, and put an end to this vicious tug of war between him and her “intended”. Death and destruction becomes Griff’s world, as he cuts a violent, wrathful swath of vengeance across the country, in his pursuit of Jade and her captor. Griff MUST find Jade and save her, before she is destroyed by a forced arranged marriage to a monster she despises…
Engrossing and thought provoking, WRATH captivates from the first sentence. I must admit, the ending was completely unexpected, but perfectly executed. Please be aware, there is profanity and erotic, sexual situations in this book.
Wow! Gwyn has obliterated my expectations here once again. Talk about having a way with words. Wrath is action packed, thrilling and utterly consuming. Griff & Jade are a must read! These characters are perfection.
For a novella length story this crazy talented author managed to pack in ALL the adventure and detail I love in a full length book without feeling rushed. I got the perfect dose of all the FEELS. Right from the start I could feel how enamored Griff is with Jade. Swoon! They are so sexy and in love it turned me on reading their scenes. The action that ensues thanks to Griff's evil twin Tarek kept me on the edge of my seat. Holding my breath at times even. Griff manages a harrowing escape then goes on a turbulent crusade to rescue his girl! There's blood shed and tears. Seriously every possible emotion ran through me.
Love feeling a bit wrung out. I feel like that is the biggest compliment I can give to an author because if your words can evoke strong emotion, that is a job well done as far as I'm concerned. Also that I didn't want their story to end.
As a side note...this book feels very mafia-esk to me. I love a good mafia series. Please write more!
I had the honor of reading an advance copy of Wrath and happily offer my humble opinion.
Wrath (The Deadliest Sin Series Book 1) by Gwyn McNamee
5 Stars
Good Lord, heart race a million miles a minute much! This was a short read yet packed full of adventure, danger, heat, Love, more danger, and OMG moments, it made it feel like a much longer book.
Ive read many many books by Miss McNamee and this one was so completely different then what I am used to and at first my jaw was on the floor then I found myself at 45% and realized it was moving too fast so I put it down because I didnt want it to end and I knew if I kept reading Id be done in no time because it is that good! I was right I picked it back up and was done before I knew it. This was darker than Im used to from this author but it worked perfectly.
The writing style of this author is unmatched and it obviously doesnt matter what genre she writes she is amazing. Although I will admit I might or might not have said some not so nice words at the end of this book leaving me with a sort of love / hate confused feeling. Ive got so many questions and I need the next one now! I have to know where this story is going and I highly recommend everyone read this.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. Oh...my...word!!! What have I just read.....absolutely brilliant, brutal but brilliant. Griffin and Jade , oh so meant to be together. Amidst all the chaos, brutality, evil people in this kind of revenge story, there is a love so beautiful it has to survive. How far does a man have to go to protect his woman. Well to the ends of the earth and do whatever it takes and that’s what Griffin will do. Even though they had to change names from Konstandine and Rea to Griffin and Jade, they are still the same people. Griffin is like a man possessed to find his woman and rescue her from his evil brother Tarek. You feel every pain, every emotion that happens to him and it makes you more determined to will happiness and peace of mind and body for him. A totally unexpected ending, didn’t see that ...whoa. It only makes you want more, an Epilogue or something, there has to be. As I said, a powerful story, powerful writing and yes, it made me cry too.
“My self...the one who had absolutely everything he could ever want and also nothing.”
Some books touch you in ways you just don’t expect. McNamee writes this way. Wrath, even though it is a dark twisted story, touches you with the loneliness, the anger, and even the hope.
This story is full of violence. Detailed, graphic, violence. Wrath by definition means extreme anger. When faced with losing Jade, Griffin experiences wrath. How he uses that anger is what turns this book into such a twisted story. McNamee loves to add unforeseen plot twists. I so totally did not see all the twists which made this story so exciting to read and kept me turning page after page.
This story also has hot steamy sex. “Absolute. Total. Bliss.” Before too many of the twists start happening, Jade and Griffin, who is also known as Rea and Konstandin, love each other as strongly as two people possibly could. Their sex is off the charts hot!
McNamee also includes many secondary characters that will undoubtedly show up in later books. Books that I will read as soon as humanly possible.
Jade is Griff’s life. She is the reason that his heart beats and he would do anything to protect her from the danger that is stalking their lives. When she is taken by the one person who knows him well, he will have to revert to his ways and once again become Konstandin. Hell will follow along in his wake and those that have his woman will find out what happens when someone has nothing left to lose and wrath on his side.
I was not really expecting to like this book. I was starting to get a little disinterested in the characters, but then BAM! The story shot off like a rocket and had me going hooked. This is not a typical love story. And warning, this is not a typical happy ending. This is the story of the ultimate sacrifice for love and one man’s depth of strength and resolve. I did not particularly like the ending, but it was definitely the one that was needed for this story. Amazing read!
Wrath (The Deadliest Sin Series Book 1) by Gwyn McNamee was a dark romance that will have you on the edge of your seat.
The first book in what I believe will be something amazing. This quick read gets your blood going right away, with a quick fire, dark prologue, before getting right into the smutty hotness of the MC's. The stage was set beautifully, and when it was time for the real plot and bloody like action to get underway, It. Was. Glorious.
This book had a "Man of Fire" feel, with a bit of the "Equalizer". I was hooked, hard. This novella read liked a full length book, and man oh man, I didn't want the ride to end. Speaking of endings, I don't know if I'm okay with it, cause, damn, I loved it, I'm a little mad at the author for it, but damn it was good.
Overall this book is a must read and a super high recommendation from me. So please take my golden stamp of approval that, you will love to hate, to be obsessed with this book.
Wrath (The Deadliest Sin Series Book 1) By Gwyn McNamee 5 Stars!!!!
I have read books from this author before and this book was just as good as the ones I have read before. I really find this author's style to be quite refreshing. The characters just seem to come to life and I feel as though I am actually there in the pages as the drama unfolds.
The drama that unfolds around Jade and Konstandin really keeps you glued to the pages. I just couldn't put the book down. The feud between Konstandin and his brother Tarek really adds to the story line . I must admit that I found the ending to be a twist I was not expecting but as the drama unfolds I really found that I felt as though I was there. The author really has such a brilliant writing style that you cannot just assume what will happen next. I really look forward to reading more from this author and this series.
Gwyn McNamee is one of my favourite authors so I was really looking forward to reading Wrath which is book 1 in The Deadliest Sin series and what an opening book it was! It might only be a short read but it was certainly not short on the action! It was a dark and gritty read, a little bloody and gruesome at times but I 100% fell in love with Griff! I loved his devotion to Jade and he wasn’t going to let anyone get in his way along his journey! I loved the two of them together! The pace of the story was fast but it didn’t feel rushed! It was a brilliant read and I am so excited to read the next one in the series! The ending to this one left me with a wide eyed expression and a need to read on! It was definitely not what I was expecting at all! A fantastic dark and gritty read that I would absolutely 100% recommend!
Wow! I knew going in that this story would be awesome. Every book I've read by Gwyn has been and this certainly did not disappoint! This book is a quick read that you won't put down from page one to the end! It's definitely NOT your typical happy ending love story but it WILL make you travel through the vast array of human emotions! It's violent and bloody and a spectacular example of what we are capable of, and what we are willing to sacrifice, in an effort to keep our loved ones safe. I fell in love with these characters. Even after I finished the book, the feelings just simmered in my chest. That anyone could love another person this much... Go ahead and grab this one! You won't be disappointed. You will possibly go into shock, but won't be disappointed at all! :-)
Wrath (The Deadliest Sin Series Book 1) By: Gwyn McNamee 5 out of 5 stars
The story Wrath (The Deadliest Sin Series Book 1) by Gwyn McNamee is a book that is fast-paced and a thrilling read. It is a story that is dark, powerful, and includes raw emotions. It is a book that I finished in one sitting. I just couldn’t put it down. The story was written in such a way that I felt like I was right there with the characters. This is an author who did an amazing job in making the characters and storyline come alive. It is a book that had my heart pounding and took my breath away while reading. There is intense and emotional dialogue. I couldn’t help but feel for the main character. This is a story that I would highly recommend reading. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
Wrath by Gwyn McNamee is a short novella, that is definitely not your usual sweet romance story. It is a story that is dark and violent, gritty and a little gruesome but it is enthralling. I know when I read one of Gwyn’s books I am in safe hands. Even though Griff has a dark, dark side I fell in love with him and the woman he loves. Griff was made to kill and torture and really is not a good guy, but that dark and ruthless man disappears when he is with the one thing he love more than anything in the world, Jade. When she is taken from him he will do anything to get her back even if that means he leaves destruction in his path and takes out the one person who made him who he is.
The ending broke my heart and I can’t wait for the next installment.
Wrath (The Deadliest Sin Series Book 1) by Gwyn McNamee. HOLY MOLY! This is a book that when you pick it up you better buckle up and hold on. You will read it to the end without breathing. Its a short book ( The only bad thing about it) and the story of Jade & Griffin. Griffin is so swept up with Jade that he changes his whole being to be the man for her. Griffin grew up only knowing torture, pain, cruelty and death so turning into a good man for Jade is against everything Griffin knows. When Jade is kidnapped that dark side of Griffin comes out and he will do whatever it takes to get her back and make the person pay who has hurt her. I can't wait for Book 2. Read Wrath, you won't be disappointed!
