Rate this book
Heartbroken by the loss of his best friend and love of his life, Tobin's mind battles between shutting down completely or going wild with rage. Unable to do anything but watch, Nova and Ember are left with struggling to find a way to stop Tris before she kills Tobin - or before he kills himself trying to exact his revenge. With precious time running out, Nova discovers a hidden ability that might help them all... Can she put it to use before Tobin completes his suicide mission? This is the tenth installment in a 12-part serial thriller.

Andy Lockwood is a writer, an artist, and above all: a dreamer. He got his start in screenwriting and filmmaking where he discovered his obsessive love of storytelling.
He is the author of two novels, Empty Hallways and House of Thirteen; a 12-part serial thriller, At Calendar’s End; and is a regular contributor to horror anthologies. He is always working on another piece of writing, whether it is a novel, a story, or something else entirely. When not slaving away at the keyboard, he spends his time buying books he does not have time to read, and delving into mediums he has no time to fully explore, but he dabbles in them anyway.
He lives in mid-Michigan with his amazingly talented and entirely-too-supportive wife, their delightfully boisterous daughter, a brood of cats, and a misguided idea of what it means to be an adult.

Tobin is as dark as he knew himself to be but even monsters have moments of light. He was a complicated character. I didn't know whether or not he was dark because he had no choice of if the events of the past made him that way. Regardless, I like seeing his relationships with September from his own thoughts and how important it was. Plus with each book, it comes to a conclusion. I can't wait.

Oh Tobin!
Tobin is NOT a good guy, he's a "monster"; but it was his love for September that kept him going. And his description and thoughts on their relationship were beautiful. Fueled by the loss of his love he is more determined than ever to take down Tris. And he does find another solution that doesn't solely rely on Ember. When the Fallen Intercalary member inevitably comes for him he goes in swinging and Tris can bleed.

What a ride this volume was! Again, despite Tobin's faults I think he was my favorite!
