We are what we eat- or that's how the saying goes- And we agree wholeheartedly on that! But we are a lot of other things, when food is concerned, We are what we think about when we cook for someone; We are how passionate we are about the things we eat; We are how we view what others eat. And sometimes, we are the lenghts we'll do to eat that one special meal.
So sit back, relax, and let us serve you a full course meal of our little stories!

This is the third book of Archfriends' comic compilation that I've read (the other ones are Battle and Afterdark). This mini comic book had attracted me from its delicious and cute cover. The mini comic consists of four stories:
1.) Delicious, by Archie The Redcat
This probably the simplest story of all, as well as the most normal one. Haha. But it's also perfect to introduce the theme of "Delicious" in the very beginning. Its a story about a girl who wanted to cook a special lunchbox for her first date with her boyfriend. However, unexpected disaster came right after she completed the lunchbox. Would she be able to serve her special delicious lunchbox for her beloved one? What kind of food would she give to her boyfriend?
Best line: It tasted better when I know it's from the person I love. (But to know whether he really meant it for real, you have to read this mini comic book yourself! :p)

2.) Space Bar, by Rama Indra
From here the magical chains of this mini comic begins. Rama Indra used science-fiction approach for his story. A young aspiring chef came to a space station to work at the food lab. The laboratory produced space bars to replace the existence of real cuisine due to the prohibition of cooking in space caused by its potential danger of using fire. The space bar actually tasted and gave nutrition like the real food.
However, as a dedicated chef, the young man couldn't accept the concept as the way it is. However, as he was contemplating to just going home to earth and applying for a real cooking job at real restaurants, he was trapped by a quirky and sassy maid girl to come into a small fishy restaurant which cooked authentic earth cuisine for extremely towering price... of course illegally!
Best line: ...and that's how I become a rogue intergalactic chef
I do really hope Rama Indra will make this as series!!!

3.) Special, by Azisa Noor
The premise is highly similar to Restaurant to Another World series so I wonder whether Azisa was inspired by it or it was merely coincidence. Link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Restaur...
The point of view was taken from a young waitress who worked in a special restaurant which served special food for its special... regular patrons. The regulars were Mr. Widya, a dandy vampire who liked to have his blood served in old china cups; Ana, a student in nearby university and a total sweetheart who also happened to be a werewolf...; Sekar, a faerie who couldn't have her food cooked using metal utensils since metal is bad for faeries (but she was working as a software engineer downtown!); Mr/Mrs./Ms. (???) Spectre, who liked to order frangipani, incense, flowers and sucked out the essence of the food; and many other unique entities. In short, all fantastic species liked to gather there in meal times, all but humans.
However, the waitress, and Luisa the owner (who also the chef) were plain humans. And the waitress wondered why all of those fantastic creatures bother to come to their small restaurant although the menus were pretty simple. When the chef served her a simple hot chop suey without any onion on it (because apparently the chef knew that the waitress hated onion), she directly found the answer of her question.
Best line: And having something even as small as a meal being prepared just the way they need it without fear, questions, or judgment... It can mean a lot...

4. I'd Do Anything For You, by Marwan Islami
If you followed the compilation published by Archfriends, you will notice that Marwan Islami liked to use two main actors in all of his stories. It's always about a steampunk fighter girl with a large robot involving themselves in certain hard core adventures and battles, drawn in silent manga style.
In this comic, they both had to fight a gigantic robot in a hot intense battle for the sake of some cold sweet treats.

AFTERWORDS
It's wonderful how the four of them could present various and quirky story lines under one theme of "Delicious". Until today the circle had released about 10 comics, and I hope I could collect them all someday... They actually have tokopedia shop. But only two products are available there... Ugh...
