There are some version of Atsuhime in Japan.
My image of Atsuhime used to be very mean and to plot against lots of things, but in this book, Atsuhime is described as a very smart woman and pure.
She was from Satsuma;Kagoshima prefecture to the center of Tokyo at Edo era, but when she come into the shogun's place, lots of things happened. At that moment it was very difficult to survive even though she was a wife of Shogun.
