I'm always so excited to visit Good Hope - it is a town I'd love to live in, and I'm fond of the many quirky inhabitants. One thing I've really appreciated is the characters ability to grow and change. Cassie and her mother Anita were unsympathetic characters in past books, but they have changed - not magically, but logically, and watching them grow and develop is rewarding. That said, I feel like this book would stand fine on its own.
I really liked the main character Cassie, and especially enjoyed her determination as she struggles to make a better life for herself and her children. And her kids are equally great. Krew was a good match.
Note: I received an advance copy of the book in return for an unbiased review.
What can I say, but I'm absolutely in love with this book ❤️ I'm totally in emotional withdrawal, such an emotional roller coaster following Cassie's journey. Her story has hit so close to home. Many times I had to pause to get my emotions in check. Cassie has had a rough life, she's a single mom of 4 children. Her 3 boys are still at home. She's struggling to make the best for her kids and herself. She's hit an all time low, and is working on herself to be better for her kids. Krew was shocked when he saw Dakota. She reminded him of his sister at that age. With realization that he could be her father. When it's confirmed that he is her father, how will Dakota and Cassie take the news? With Krew coming into the picture how will this effect Cassie and Dakota's already struggling relationship. Will Cassie and Krew be able to move forward, and how will her boys feel about Dakota's dad in the picture. I love how Cindy gets to have you feel so intensely about the characters. Definitely one of my all time favorites. ❤️ “I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it.”
Reunited in Good Hope is Cassie Lohmeier’s story. Cassie has been a secondary character in several of the Good Hope novels and, to be honest, her character did not appeal to me. However, I adored her daughter Dakota and her three sons. Reunited in Good Hope was much more than a second chance romance; it’s a story about one woman’s struggle to regain her self- confidence and put her family first.
Cindy Kirk has created a heartfelt story for Cassie. Her journey from an unwed 15 -year high school student to a confident, caring mother has been honestly portrayed during the series. Cassie has made a lot of poor decisions which negatively affected her family. Cindy Kirk has taken a flawed, unlikeable character and redeemed her. I liked that Cassie wasn’t “fixed” in one novel. Cassie needed to like herself before she could believe that she could change.
Cindy Kirk’s characters bring this book to life. Ms. Kirk understands the give and take that takes place in relationships. The conversations between KT and Braxton, Cassie’s teenaged sons was fabulous-the author did a fabulous job portraying the teenage vibe. Dakota’s relationship with her mother is tenuous and their situation made this novel and excellent read. The author didn’t shy away from the cause and effect of their situation-it was presented through honest, sometimes heartbreaking conversations. I appreciated that Krew owned his behavior, too. He suspected he might have been Dakota’s father but chose college and a football career over his responsibilities.
Reunited in Good Hope took me by surprise—it’s a fabulous read. Cassie’s journey has all the feels; and it’s the perfect addition to the fabulous Good Hope series.
Cassie is a single mother who has lived in Good Hope all her life. That means that every error she has ever made is public knowledge. And she has made several.
Cassie has 4 children. Her oldest is her daughter, Dakota. She was born when Cassie was 15 after her first kiss and much more with a boy who was her secret crush. Krew was a football star and working hard to make it to a college scholarship. He succeeded and never looked back
Cassie's next 2 two children are Braxton and KT. Both are talented teenagers who were fathered by another man. That man turned out to be a married man and Cassie never knew. Finally, she has a young son, Axl, his father was a criminal who is now in prison.
Cassie's entire story has been told through all the Good Hope books. She is finally turning her life around in a big way. She has determined that in spite of being unable to forgive herself, she owes it to her children to become the best mother possible.
Although this is a part of a series, the book works as a stand alone read. The characters who live in Good Hope are introduced as peripheral people who add to the texture of the story. Past stories and events are explained in a manner which helps this story have depth.
Krew is an NFL star who has had a career ending injury. He has come home to Good Hope and sees Cassie for the first time in many years. He also happens to see a young woman who looks exactly like his sister did when she was a teen. That first sign of recognition opens an entire new chapter for Krew, Cassie and her 4 children.
This is a book of second chances. It is also a book of forgiveness. Cassie and Krew have regrets in their pasts. Both of them must learn to put the past behind them and accept the future with new priorities.
Cassie and her children are wonderful people. At the same time she has made some bad choices in men, she has raised her children to be wonderful human beings. Though they have seen her life through many ups and downs, they are well loved and they know it. She is a terrific parent who is raising terrific children.
Krew grew up in a terrible home and he has separated himself from his past by working hard to succeed. His idea of family is based on the only family he knew. Cassie and her children are a revelation to him. He finds himself being drawn to many things in life he has basically ignored.
Ms Kirk has a talent for making the reader feel a part of this American small town. She has also made this reader wonder where to find a small town like Good Hope. This is a place where people care about one another and support one another. The small town is as much a part of the story as any other character.
There is a happily ever after here. But, the journey to the HEA is filled with life. Life is not always sweet, it is not always wonderful but it is realistic. People have problems, at times people are not always happy with one another, but things change and move forward.
I have enjoyed every book I have read in the Good Hope series. This book is no exception. I think this series is wonderful.
I wanted the best for Cassie and Krew. It was evident to me that they balance one another beautifully. I was anxious for both of them to see what I saw. I am glad they did just as I had hoped.
Cassie's children added a great deal to this story. From what I have read, apparently Ms Kirk has known some very real children. That is a gift she has shared with her readers.
I received this book from the author in the expectation of an honest review. I am voluntarily writing this review. All opinions are completely my own.
This is a fantastic second chance romance! We met Cassie in the first book in this series, and she was a hot mess. She was pregnant at fifteen, estranged from her mother, had four children by three baby daddies and was living with larcenous abusive perv Clint. She is slowly getting her life turned around through the span of the prior seven books. In this book, the father of her daughter Dakota, Krew, comes back. He is a retiring NFL player visiting his hometown. He sees Dakota, realizes that she looks just like his sister, and that he has a daughter. Krew wants to get to know his daughter, and Dakota want to have a real family. Both Cassie and Krew have a lot of regrets and past mistakes to work through. The Cassie in the first book was pretty un-likable. But she is turning her life around and deserves her happily every after. Make sure you have a tissue handy, as I teared up a lot with this book. If you like this series, you will love this book. I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it.
Book number 8 in the Good Hope series, this is the story of Cassie Lohmeier. Cassie made one mistake in high school, and she has paid for it ever since. Falling for Krew Slattery and losing her heart to him wasn't in her plan, but when it happens it alters the course of her life. Krew has no clue that his brief interlude with Cassie made him a father, but now that he knows, how can he walk away?
This book deals with several sensitive topics, including teen pregnancy, responsibility, domestic abuse, and sexual predators. All are handled in a straightforward manner. The consequences of Cassie's decisions after she becomes pregnant, how that affects her family, and most importantly, her view of herself all play a part in this novel.
I have enjoyed all of the Good Hope novels to date, and look forward to more. Kirk's characters are warm and familiar. They are people you can get to know and enjoy spending time with. I look forward to more Good Hope books.
I received an ARC of this book in return for an honest review. Thank you Cindy Kirk and Waverly House.
i love this series ... always fun to return to Good Hope ...such a quaint small town flair, what is not to love??! in Kindle Unlimited if you there on Amazon? I wanna be sure to say that the stars are not reflective of the book ... i just really love the fall book more ..that is my favorite season after all. & i hope to return to this town again soon ... it just that magical and close-knit neighbors, folks ... a picturesque time or moments. love the cover, these characters are like family. Cindy is a great author, one of my faves, please check her out!! since i am on audible i need to see if she has any books there??! i wonder??! ( ;

I really enjoy this series. I love that each book still includes a little bit of each previous couple. This is a great book that reminds us that we are not stuck in our past. We can move on and push forward. We can forgive ourselves for the past and move past our mistakes.
Like coming home again…revisiting Good Hope (and yes, I have read every book in this series), is like returning to your favorite small town where everybody knows everyone. It’s comfortable to be able to walk into Muddy Boots for brunch after church, or grab a cuppa’ from Daily Grind, or pick up your favorite pastry from Ami’s bakery, Blooms Bake Shop, where you’ll be greeted by old friends and make new ones.
Reunited in Good Hope tells us Cassie’s story. Cassie, her four children, her sister, and mother have appeared in many of the books in the Good Hope series, but Cassie has remained the “bad girl” mystery to us…until now.
Kirk digs deep to show us the real Cassie. Not the one the town has determined her to be. And now she is reunited with her first love. We watch Cassie struggle and grow and finally get her much deserved confidence, success, and happily-ever-after. Her first love arrives back in town, a surprise to all, especially Cassie. Throughout the story as their lives intertwine, each begins to peel back the layers of the other, learning about traumas and successes that made each who they are today.
A sweet, heartwarming story of life’s ups and downs, with a lesson in persistence and forgiveness. And of course, a coming home happily-ever-after for a healed family, each character opening their hearts to acceptance and love.
I was given an advance copy of this book in exchange for an unbiased review.
We met Cassie Lohmeier in the earlier books of this series, and it seemed like she just could not get her act together - stuck in bad relationships, at odds with her family, especially her daughter, and just struggling to get ahead in life. It seemed like she finally wised up at some point and got a job at the local coffee shop. She also started making amends with people she has alienated in the past.
Ah. The past. Of course, the past always comes back to haunt Cassie, this time, in the form of NFL hunk Krew Slattery. Krew has not had the best family life, too. In his case, he moved on and out of Good Hope and made a name for himself in pro football. But on a visit, he discovers that he has not really moved on from Good Hope, and in fact, has left a significant piece of his life behind in his old home town.
For me, this book is a book of triumph over adversity. It's two people realizing that the family they are born with is not necessarily the family they keep. The book is well written, as is the case with all Cindy Kirk books i've read - there's a great balance between angst and lighthearted moments, especially with Axl. I love that kid!
It is always such a treat visiting Good Hope and the many colorful characters that live within it! I definitely enjoyed this book, and I cant wait for more visits to Good Hope!
**I received an ARC of the book, but this review and all opinions expressed herein are my own.
We return again to the beautifully warm town Good Hope. This time we catch up with Cassie and her family. After a brief encounter in her teenage years leaving her pregnant, her life becomes defined by the choices she makes. After years of making some poor choices in her life, mainly regarding guys, Cassie is working hard to make a better life for herself and her family. So when a guy from her past returns to Good Hope - will a chance encounter reveal the identity of her daughters father? I absolutely love this series and was so lucky to receive an advanced copy from the publishers for an honest, voluntary review.
Plot synopsis: Cassie Lohmeier is a single mother of four children, the first of which she had at the age of sixteen. Becoming a teen mother impacted the next seventeen years of her life, subjecting her to the scrutiny and judgment of others, affecting her sense of self-worth and her choices. Cassie is finally reclaiming herself and making choices to ensure a good future for herself and her children. Enter Krew Slattery, back in Good Hope after being sidelined by an NFL injury. When Krew sees Cassie’s oldest daughter, he sees his own eyes looking back at him, and it takes him back to the one night he and Cassie had together as teenagers. Complexity ensues as Krew and Cassie learn to navigate around each other and their emotions. How will the fact that Krew is the father of Dakota affect Cassie’s plans for the future?
The themes in this book include the idea of redemption, forgiveness, overcoming seemingly impossible roadblocks, and finding your strengths. Cassie has been knocked down by life more times than she can count and it affected her ability to make good decisions. Finally she is free of abusive and toxic relationships and can see her way to a future of hope that will allow her to support her family. Not only does Cassie have to learn to forgive herself, she has to learn to let go of her pride. I tend to enjoy a story along the lines of a woman digging herself out of lousy circumstances to stand proudly on her own two feet, as it resembles my own story. I enjoyed seeing Cassie, who in previous novels has been presented in a negative light, from a new perspective, allowing us all to see the reasons for some of the decisions she made. As the designated love interest for Cassie, I liked Krew, but in my opinion, he took the news of fatherhood much more easily than I imagined. Thank you, Cindy, for making him human, in that he knew Cassie had been pregnant but did not investigate at the time due to his own plans.
So, the positives for this book were the main storyline (BTW, are Mari and Cade ever going to have their hearts’ desire?), the strength of the main character and the willingness of the male hero to assume a father figure role for Cassie’s children. The negatives were that I wished for a little bit more character development in the main characters and a little more conflict between the two main characters as they adjust to each new reality.
I was very excited to read Reunited in Good Hope, as I've always enjoyed the stories of it's citizens. Right from the beginning, as we learned about the Bloom sisters and continued on with all of their friends from the inner circle, it has been a pleasure to visit this quaint town filled with "neighbors helping neighbors". However this story is a little different as it revolves around Cassie Lohmeier who is an outcast of sorts. We met her in earlier books, but only briefly learned about her struggles as a single mother and her unfavorable treatment of her teenage daughter. In past books I was actually quite dismissive about Cassie because she had few redeeming qualities, but I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed reading more about her life so I could understand her struggles better, and hope that she had the chance at being happy.
When an old flame (if you can call him that), Krew Slattery, comes back to town her whole world is turned upside down all over again. We are able to understand the pain and confusion she felt as an innocent fifteen year old girl, and see why her life spiraled so out of control. As for Krew, it was easy to warm up to the handsome football star when he decides to make right on something terrible he did decades before. Cassie's daughter, Dakota's life is thrown for a loop in the process as well, and her reactions are very raw and real throughout the book. It is hard not to hope everyone gets the silver lining that they deserve.
The book was very fast paced and I never felt like I had to trudge through slow parts to get to the meat of the story. It took place over several months so nothing felt like it was forced into an unrealistic timeline. As with many of the previous stories, I look forward to getting updates on these main characters in future stories about the other residents of this lovely town. This was one of my favorite Good Hope stories since the first few books in the series.

Reunited in Good Hope is the story of Cassie Lohmeier. When Cassie was a teenager, she had a crush on Krew Slattery, but when Krew left for college, she was heartbroken. Over the years, Cassie looked for love in all of the wrong places. Now, 20 years later, Cassie has four children, including Dakota who she had at a young age. Krew had an amazing career playing football in college and went on to become an NFL star, but when he suffers an injury, he returns to his hometown in Good Hope. Upon arrival, Krew runs into Cassie. He was stunned at how beautiful Cassie was and the feelings that bubbled up when he saw her. Because Cassie has made many bad decisions over the years, she has sworn off men and promised her children that she was getting her life together. Cassie has lived her life struggling to survive and is now working towards getting her real estate license. When Krew meets Cassie’s daughter, Dakota, he notices a resemblance. Could Dakota be his daughter? When Krew tries to talk to Cassie, she pushes him away. So, Krew goes to Dakota and proposes that she take a DNA test to find out if he is her father. When the test confirms his suspicions, Dakota asks if her mom and dad can give her the family that she has always dreamed of. Although Cassie doesn’t really want to spend time with Krew, she agrees to spend time as a family over the holidays. Dakota and her three brothers love this new “family”. Unfortunately, everyone knows as the holidays come to an end, Krew will be going back to the NFL and leaving them behind. Will love prevail or, will life get in the way and keep Cassie and Krew apart?

“Reunited in Good Hope” Is the story of Cassi, Krew brought together again by their daughter Dakota. Cassie, a single mother with four children has had her share of bad relationships that chipped away at herself esteem and left her questioning herself and her choices. She’s left to her own raising her children, promising herself and her family that they will always be her priority and she’s doing ok. Not great, but ok. Life becomes harder for her when her daughters father returns to her life. Krew had a feeling but never really knew for sure if the girlfriend he left behind was pregnant with his child. The gossip about Cassie’s dating after he left gave him that flicker of doubt that made staying away that much easier. That is until a football injury brings him back to his hometown to recuperate and he sees Dakota for the first time. There’s no doubt in his mind she is his daughter. Now Cassie has choices to make. To let Krew into their lives so he can be the father Dakota’s been craving, let him provide for her the things that she can’t, and at what cost to her and her other children, each of them also wanting a father figure of their own. Allowing Krew into her life again, brings all those past doubts bubbling up but Krew’s ability to push past Cassie’s defenses helps Cassie admit that her feelings for Krew are still there and maybe, just maybe, trusting Krew with her heart would not be a mistake. "I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it." I enjoyed reading “Reunited in Good Hope” and am looking forward to the next story in the series.
I love Cindy’s book, there isn’t a book that has disappointed me yet, and I hope she never does. Although this book is about Cassie and Krew, it also pertains to the kids especially Dakota. We have all come to love this girl especially for the life Cassie gave her in some of the previous books. Not knowing the circumstances that are expressed in this book, I couldn’t understand how in this wonderful town someone like her exist and no one knock some sense into her.
As we know, Cassie has been featured in the previous Good Hope books, but she wanted a new start and knew that it wasn’t going to be easy. Although in the previous books she was more of the not so good mother and just bad overall; this book brings Cassie to a new light, she is a woman that must face her demons and mistakes every single day and promises her children that no men would ever come between them. In the past she alienated everyone in her family, but some like Lindsay never gave up on her. Krew on the other hand is the NFL heartthrob that came back to Good Hope to shake up Cassie’s world but ended up with more than he bargained.
Some truths come out that affect someone deeply, but with love, understanding, and forgiveness is right around the corner. There is a big secret that is confirmed in this book and although it affects someone, there is still the love of everyone that keeps them going. There is forgiveness and new beginnings. I can’t wait for the continuation of this and the next one affected in Good Hope. I received an advanced reader’s copy of this book and this review is my honest opinion and thoughts.

Reunited in Good Hope is the eighth book in the Good Hope series by Cindy Kirk. I have every one in the series and love coming back to Good Hope with every book to see what’s going on and with whom. This book can be read as a standalone novel but highly recommend reading the other books in the series as it gives a better understanding into each of the characters.
Cassie is a character that we were first introduced to in the first book but was a minor player and definitely not totally with it. She has four children to three different men, a single mother, estranged from her own mother and living with the horrible Clint.
Throughout the books you learn that Cassie gave birth to her daughter Dakota at fifteen after a night with her secret crush Krew Slattery. Living in a small town means that every mistake or error in judgement is on public display for everyone to see and Cassie has made a few!
Krew Slattery returns home to Good Hope after a career ending injury forces him into early retirement. Krew is shocked when he sees Dakota as she reminds him of his sister at that age. With realization that he could be her father, he continues to uncover the truth that that one night back in high school changed his life forever.
I love that Cassie and Krew eventually find their way back to each other after some help from Dakota and her brothers. It just proves that you never really do get over your first love and that love conquers all. Enjoy!
This is the eighth book Cindy Kirk has written about her town of Good Hope. It’s by far my favorite setting for any series book in this genre. The way Cindy writes in her setting of Good Hope feels like a warm hug. While this particular book does have a main romantic couple, there are several secondary characters with prominent roles. Cassie (the female romantic lead), has been in several other Good Hope books and it is clear she has not made great choices (4 kids from 3 different fathers). Previously, she allowed one live-in boyfriend to get dangerously close to molesting her daughter. Of course, this set her on a path to improving herself which includes swearing off men and focusing on her kids. Cindy wrote the roles of the teen boys very realistically as they prove themselves to be very capable but a bit self-focused and lazy. The romantic relationship is wonderful to see evolve and this book focuses more on the self-reflection of past choices rather than a heavy physical relationship. This is a wonderful addition to the Good Hope series, although it could be read alone, it would be very rewarding to read all the Good Hope series from the beginning if you are just finding out about this series. (The series is available on Kindle Unlimited so it can be very affordable to read the entire series.) I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it.
I received an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily reviewing it. I so wanted for Cassie to get a chance to show Good Hope a new and improved version of herself. And that she did. This book delves into the struggles of a single mom that has made a lot of bad decisions spurring from one mistake as a teenager that resulted in the pregnancy of her first child, Dakota. The man Cassie pegged for the father denied his paternity and Cassie never tried to force the issue. This book takes a deep look at Cassie’s troubled past and the things she is trying to do to improve her life and the lives of her children. You really feel for her. This author definitely has a knack for making you get into the story in an very deep emotional way.
Oh, don’t let me fool you into thinking there is no romance. This book took on the sweeter side of romance because there were so many underlying topics that need to be resolved. I will say this Krew Slattery literally stalks back into Good Hope and slides his way into our hearts.
It seems like every book I read in this series is better than the ones before it but I think they are all equally good and you would definitely be doing yourself a favor by reading all the books in this series. You will love getting to know the characters.
I really enjoyed this foray into the world of Good Hope! None of the characters we have met in the previous seven books have been perfect, but they were all hiding their secrets. Cassie's faults are glaringly out in the open, with the evidence being her four children by three different fathers. I love it that she is finally getting her act together and is cautious when NFL star and father of her first child comes waltzing back into her life. She holds him at a distance for some time, and only gradually begins to trust him again. She is also conscious of how she acts with him in front of her children. He, in turn, is patient, trustworthy, and sincerely wants to help clean up the mess he left behind him when he left Good Hope not knowing that 15-year-old Cassie was pregnant with his daughter.
The reality of Cassie's life is refreshing, and the fact that even her previously unlikable mother is starting to come around is a nice change. I love it that Cassie and Krew take their time and are not married within a month or two of getting together. The ending is truly beautiful for not only Cassie, Krew, and Dakota, but for all of "their" children. A very pleasant entry in the Good Hope series!

I really enjoyed Reunited in Good Hope. As always, Cindy demonstrates a wonderful insight into human nature and a skilled ability to convey real people through the written word. I particularly enjoyed (I laughed out loud!) Dakota’s reaction to Krew when he invited her to move in with him when school started back. How dare he speak/think ill of her mother! She can do so, but no one else is allowed! How true!!! I also enjoy that Cindy shares her gift of insight with her characters and allows them to analyze, quite correctly, each other. I really, really, REALLY appreciate that she generally has her characters speak honestly to one another. I’ve read too many books where characters are not honest with one another and it creates so many misunderstandings and mistakes. I’m tired of groaning over people who can’t be honest! Cindy's characters are so much better!
I also really enjoyed the interaction in this one between Cassie and her kids as well as the interactions among her kids themselves. Even though there were elements that mark them as the kids they are, there was real love and affection displayed. I love reading books that warm my heart - and this one definitely does.
I received an ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I honestly loved it.
Reunited in Good Hope is the eighth in the series but can also be read as a stand alone, however I truly recommend reading the previous books to get a better insight to the characters. This is a story of learning from mistakes, learning to forgive, and accepting forgiveness. Cassie has made many mistakes in her life but is finally learning to forgive herself and making amends to those that matter to her. She is trying to better her life and make a greater life for her kids. She lost her innocence at 15 to her secret crush and so began her downward spiral of making poor choices in relationships. The best part was the kids she gained from her choices. Krew Slattery grew up in Good Hope in a bad family, worked hard to get out and thought he would never return. On a rare visit home, Krew learns that he has a grown daughter with Cassie and so begins the building of a relationship not only with his daughter but also with the rest of her family. Krew blames himself for how Cassie's life turned out. Together, they work on putting the past behind them and forging a new future. This was an amazing story with realistic characters and plot.
I received an arc from the publisher but all thoughts and feelings are my own.

Oh how divine to be back in Good Hope! I adore this series of books by Cindy and they were my first insight into her literary world. I was very excited to delve back into the town and its inhabitants.
Although the books originally revolved around the 4 Bloom sisters and their beaux Cindy has now written several books about people who were originally minor players on the stage of Good Hope and this is one of those.
We knew a little about Cassie having previously met her mother and sister but now we find out her story and she gets her HEA which she so richly deserves. Cassie has had a hard time with life and although she has 4 amazing children she's had everything to do all by herself. Enter her first child's father and from tentative beginnings blooms friendship and love. I loved Cassie and Krew from the very beginning and my love for them only grew stronger as their story progressed. This is one of my favourite stories from Good Hope, I could not put the book down, I quite literally devoured it.
This is a must read for Cindy Kirk fans, you will love it.
Krew Slattery spent the night with Cassie Lohmeier and left town to pursue his NFL career. He didn’t know that Cassie became pregnant and had to work herself to the bone to provide food for the table. Cassie also had to endure the snide remarks people would make behind her back. Years later, Krew started seeing a resemblance between him and Cassie’s daughter. After confirmation from a DNA test, he sets out to make amends and rekindle a relationship that burned hot and quick but ended too soon. Will Cassie be able to forgive the past and open up her heart? I loved this story. It was full of hope, forgiveness and new beginnings. I admired how Cassie worked through her struggles and changed her life. I also respected how she admitted her mistakes from the past and changed her ways. I liked how Krew endeavored to be a good father and opened his heart to Cassie’s family. As always, Ms. Kirk’s story left me feeling hopeful that the world could change and be more loving and forgiving. Thank you, Ms. Kirk! Book 8 of the Good Hope Series brings you back to a warm familiar place, Good Hope. This story is all about love and redemption. After a one night stand when she was 15, Cassie Lohmeier's life and reputation spiraled out of control. Four children, three fathers. But what if fate was different? What if Krew Slattery knew he had a child? Would he have stayed in Good Hope or would he have chosen to step up? Or would he have taken the same path? He too must earn redemption for a mistake and trust that he took from Cassie. Krew must also learn to forgive himself.
Cassie has become a strong heroine in this novel. We meet her as Dakota's mother, Lindsey's sister and Anita's oldest, estranged daughter but never as her own person. With the help of a therapist, she is taking control over her life. It is great to see her get her happy ending.
The Good Hope series is a wonderful read. Likeable, familiar characters. Happy endings. It feels like being part of the community everytime a new Good Hope book is written.
I received an ARC in exchange for my review. Reunited in Good Hope is pretty close to being my favorite one so far. We learned a little bit about Cassie from the earlier books( truthfully she wasn’t one of my favorite characters) but this story is all about her. Cindy really gave Cassie character and strength, which we learn so much about in her story. Her past was muddled with not so good choices and Cassie had closed herself off from “life” so she could focus on being the best she could be, for herself and for her kids. She was not expecting Krew to walk back in to her life and turn things upside down and then eventually rightside up. Krew wanted to right the wrongs of the past as he stood up and became a dad to his daughter; the daughter he never knew about. In the process of getting to know his daughter a relationship grows between him and Cassie, and also her other children. Sometimes the unexpected is exactly the right path to choose, and this story shows that. What a fabulous read... I almost hated to see it end because of my attachments to the characters but I know a new story, with new characters, will be coming soon. Thank you Cindy!!
Wisconsin Knew comes back to Good Hope for the Holidays. When he comes back he sees Cassie’s daughter and she looks just like his sister. Cassie was girl who he took at her young age of 15, that he never forgot. But he went on to college and the NFL, she had a hard life! Knew try’s to ask Cassie If Dakota was his he never could get her alone, so he goes to Dakota and tells her he thinks he is her dad…she is shocked and is hurt why didn’t you come back sooner. They take DNA test. It comes back they are father and daughters. Cassie is concerned, she’s glad Dakota has her dad, but she’s afraid of when he leaves Dakota says she wants to have some real family time while he’s here. They start out with having a pizza night, they go bowling, he takes the kids, he teaches the boys how to fix the house and shovel the snow. Every time they are together the heat gets hotter and hotter. He takes her to Green Bay for her Realtor test she passes they go to celebrate and end up in bed. They holidays come and go, he has to leave the date long distance. Valentine’s Day he comes to take her out and he asks her to marry him he wants to adopt all the kids. She says yes.
Cassie is trying to rebuild her life . She has four kids and is doing her best to make their lives better. She has had really bad relationships in the past and has sworn off men. Then the man she had her daughter Dakota with shows back up in Good Hope. She was 15 when she pregnant after one night on the beach with Krew. He notices how much Dakota resembles his family and starts asking questions. Soon he will get his answers. Cassie does not want any part of this. She is upset that he is snooping and isn't ready let anyone in to her life or the kids. After Krew finds out the truth he is willing to do whatever he needs to do to help Dakota. Cassie allows Krew to participate in the family but is very careful. The kids adore him and this bothers Cassie because she doesn't feel like she can do for her kids. As things develop between Cassie and Krew she is learning to trust . Things take a very good turn for everyone. I always enjoy the Good Hope series. Life in this town is never boring. I was given this book as an ARC for my honest review.
