This book was a follow up to Donut Overthink it, with Andrea and Asher’s story. It was a great quick read. I just loved the story line. It was intriguing and I was rooting for them the whole time!

This book was sweet don’t get me wrong, BUT definitely didn’t have much of a plot and almost zero spice. It was a cute little story though. The ending was sped up which i was bummed about, so i did enjoy it❤️

Oh boy did I not like this one...

I had so many issues with this book but I don't have the patience to list out everything. Instead I just pick one scene in particular that can be used as a prime example for everything that bothered me:

Seriously, that's the level of romance that the book offers. It's sub-zero. And I was already very much inclined to dnf the book at this point but I soldiered on because it's a novella and it's fucking short. But no amount of pages or lack thereof could save this clusterfuck. The book tried to sell off a lot of bullshit as romantic and I'm just not down for this. Not today, satan.

Just a kiss was such a great book with some really well thought out characters. I didn't know when I picked this up it was a follow up, but I enjoyed it just as much as I think I would have I read the other. Although reading the other would have provided some insight it was still a great book! I can't wait to pick up more by this author!

Just one Kiss was a sweet and sassy novella from Shantel Tessier that hit the spot. It followed the same characters from Donut Overthink it. I loved Asher and Andrea and thought their chemistry was sexy and their banter fiery. I enjoyed the back and forth and loved that there was this draw between them that could not be denied.

Overall I thought this story was romantic and such a fun and swoony read! Bravo! 4 stars! ~Ratula

Such a great New year read. An enemies to lovers novella
A quick and short read but doesn't lack the drama and some hot steamy scenes.
You have great characters I really like. I loved Asher. I loved the banter between them. If you have read Donut Overthink It well this one is about Asher, Aiden's twin brother.
Another well-written story by this author.

Swooning!

This is very cute, short steamy read from Shantel. Reading this you can't help but fall in love with Asher. He has always wanted more from Andrea, but she didn't feel the same way. Can Asher win her heart? Read this book to find out, trust me you won't be disappointed!

Just One Kiss was a sweet, sassy and heartwarming novella from Shantel Tessier. It followed the same characters from Donut Overthink it, for this one is about Asher, Aiden's twin brother.
This book was very hot and had a great story.
Andrea and Asher have this history. One sexy and hot drunken night happened and since then neither of them can get the other one out their mind. Andrea is strong-willed and fierce and if anyone could, it be this woman. She fights their attraction every step of the way. She even gets Nate to help her in her "quest". I loved Asher and Andi, plus the secondary characters in this book and would love to read more about all of them again.

My Rating: 4.7 stars *****

I loved the story line but I was so wishing that the book was longer. This is not my first but by Shantel so I definitely knew what to expect. I am excited to explore more of her series.

description description

This story takes place 2 years after Donut Overthink it and it’s where we met Andrea and Asher. If you haven’t read the previous book then stop right here and go read that one because you don’t want to miss your introduction into smart mouth Andrea and playboy Asher Kyle. Andrea and Asher have one night together at the wedding of her best friend and his brother. When they return, he can’t seem to get her out of his mind. He starts wanting to be where she is and Andrea doesn’t want anything to do with him. Andrea is just trying to keep her head above water and make sure her mom is taken care of. When you throw Asher in the mix it can get complicated for her to fight her feelings. Asher is all about going after what he wants and he has wanted Andrea since the moment he laid eyes on her. That taste he received only made him hungry for more. Their chemistry is off the charts and I do not understand what person in their right mind would jump on that bandwagon. Asher is so much like his brother but is sexier and I would have liked to have more of him.

The story is a quick read and you will not want to put it down. Asher will keep you entertained with his charm and possessiveness. He can be funny and swoon worthy at the same time. Andrea has a smart mouth and willing to go head to head with Asher. I love these two together because they keep one another on their toes. I love that we get a glimpse into the characters from the previous story. They really had me laughing and loving every second of them interfering. Great read and even wonderful characters. Asher is going into my book boyfriend hall of fame.

JUST A KISS is a holiday novella. It's part of The 2019 New Years Eve Kisses Collection but is a standalone.

Asher Kyle is the twin brother of Aiden, we met him and Hadley in DONUT OVERTHINK IT (but Ms. Tessier does a great job of connecting the two stories so you don't need to worry about getting lost). Andrea Stikes is Hadley's best friend. She works two jobs to support her sick mother. Asher is a big time lawyer. They come from different worlds and should never have met. But a one night stand at Hadley and Aiden's wedding leaves them both wanting more.

Asher is definitely the lighter half of his twin! Yes, he can still be a big sexy jerk but we don't see too much of that (maybe because this is a slightly shorter story?). Mostly, he's determined to capture Andrea's heart in an over the top, round about way. Andrea is a hard worker, an awesome daughter, she knows her mind and what she wants. I liked both Asher and Andrea, they were great together when they weren't fighting each other. But I wasn't a huge fan of the games they played! It just seemed kinda childish after awhile. Having said that, if this was a full length novel and had more time for the characters to develop, I know I'd enjoy reading their story!

Overall, this was an enemies to lovers, opposites attract that I'd recommend to anyone looking for a sexy shortie. Told from dual POVs with a sweet ending. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book.

Finally

Finally after lusting after one another for two years they finally get together!!!! Seriously these Kyle men sure do things backwards. These are grown people but still act and do immature things. I get that this supposed to be a rom com of sorts, so outlandish behavior and antics are par for course. But had me rolling my eyes. Like making me think Asher wasn’t the smartest of men if he pays a prostitute to be his date in order to get under Andrea’s skin. Making her jealous is one thing, but why did he bring her into his home???? Like what?? Nothing happens but it was jarring to say the least. And Nate makes another appearance and he needs his own story too!!! One where a bad bad lady gets her dirty paws on him and turns his perfectly controlled little world upside down. Perhaps Candy? That’d be something. Again the ending is hella rushed and besides their lust for each other I didn’t feel their connection. Still a really enjoyable short story. This author is talented!!

We are first introduced to the main characters, Andrea and Asher, in Donut Overthink It (Hadley and Aiden's story). This was a great follow up. While I liked Hadley and Asher's story, I think I liked Andrea and Asher's a little more. It was a quick and easy read that was full of fun moments and a few steamy ones, too. Andrea and Asher had great chemistry and I really liked them together. I only wish the story had been a bit longer. There were two surprises at the end that I wish had been explored a little more. Hopefully, maybe, there will be a follow up story letting us in on what happens in the future concerning those surprises. If not, I'm okay imagining it myself how I want it to go. lol

Sweet read

Asher & Andrea had one amazing night together. Even though she replays that night in her mind, she has to move on & focus on other important priorities in her life. He’s been secretly in love with her for years & one night isn’t enough for him. Will she give this playboy a chance or will she ruin what could be something great?

Asher’s twin Aiden and Andrea’s best friend Hadley (from Donut Overthink It) are fantastic support characters. It didn’t feel like a short book, and characters or scenes from the first book were explained in detail so you don’t feel lost or confused if you didn’t read it (though I highly recommend reading it). This was a great, quick read!

A very quick little novella that follows along with the characters from Donut Overthink It. This time instead of Aiden we get to see his twin Asher find love. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and my biggest complaint was that it was only a novella. I really wanted to know more and see how this came to be two years in the making. The author did a great job trying to fit a complete storyline from beginning to end with new characters (and some interactions with characters from the previous book) in such a short amount of time. I am looking forward to more of this New Year's Anthology when it comes out.

A novella follow-up to Donut-Overthink It, which was Aiden’s story, Just A Kiss is Asher’s story, Aiden’s twin brother.

Asher Kyle, a rich defence attorney, who has been ‘in love’ with Andi, his twin brother, Aiden’s, wife’s best friend since he first met her, two years ago.

Andrea Stikes, down on her luck working two jobs to pay for her mothers nursing home fees, has too much on her shoulders but is stubborn to a fault.

A quick holiday read that still brings you drama and a little heat!

Shantel Tessier doesn’t fall, whether it’s a holiday novella or full length novel, a great read!

I was intrigued by Asher since his brother’s story and I wasn’t disappointed. This is a short story but you’ll get all wrapped up in Andrea and Asher. She’s a tough cookie going thru so much but Asher isn’t backing down. These two go back and forth the entire book and it would make you laugh at the extremes that they take to ignore each other. But Asher wants her and isn’t giving up. Then he helps her out in the most beautiful and selfless way and she’s a goner. I loved what he did.

The ending was sad but beautiful with some questions still left unanswered but still beautiful. It was nice to catch up with Hadley and Aiden.

Just A Kiss was Fun, Lighthearted Read! I love It! Just A Kiss is a standalone, but it follows the lives of the character from Donut Over Think it! We get Asher and Andrea and boy they were a Blast! I loved how independent she is, she's doing everything she can to help her sick mother and have a life. She never anticipated a distraction like Asher Kyle and after Tahiti she can't stop thinking about him! Asher is used to getting what he wants, and he has his sights set on Andrea! I loved their back and forth, these two had such great chemistry! A short and sweet read! I really loved that we also got pieces of Adien and Hadley! Perfect read for ringing in the NEW YEAR!

Just a kiss is a sweet read. Nothing like the last book I’ve read by Shantel lol
This book was very hot and had a great story.
Andrea and Asher have a history. One drunken night happened and since then neither can get the other out of their mind. Andrea is strong though. She fights it every step of the way. Even gets Nate to help her. I loved all the character in this book and want to read more about them soon.
Hopefully this Novella is the start of something great.
You definitely don’t want to miss out on Asher and Andrea!!

This book was a follow up to Donut Overthink, Just a Kiss is Asher and Andrea story.

If your in for a fast paced story filled with steamy scenes and packs some drama then this is for you. From the moment these two meet, sparks have been fired off and from there they can’t seem to stop thinking of one another.

There story is sexy and somewhat funny in a way but what this couple can’t deny is there attraction and their chemistry. I loved the banter, and that when Asher wants something he won’t give up until he has it and that thing is Andrea.

A cute short book!!!!

I felt like this book was different then books I read from the author.... This book was such a lite read, very laugh out loud romantic short book.... Andrea best friend is married to Asher twin brother, they hooked up once while they were away for his brother's wedding.... There was still sparks between them but Andrea had personal issues with her mother's care, and the fact that Asher was a player so when he tried to pursue him, she faked having a fiance.... I enjoyed reading this fun book

I'm glad this was short. Oh, and free.

This one didn't work for me. I'm not sure if I was missing something with the characters or the fact that it was a novella, but I couldn't connect to our main characters. I felt like the romance was also very forced and there wasn't that build up to anything. Sometimes slow burns can be a little too slow for me, but this needed a bit more content. So...maybe because it was a novella.

The writing style was decent though, so that was a plus - easy reading.

Better luck next time, maybe?

This is another novella after Donut Overthink It. Again I think it was just too short for Shantel to truly work her magic.

**spoiler**
It just wasn’t very believable. How does he claim to love her but then not even know she has a brother? I just feel like their whole relationship was rushed. I know love can happen fast but I didn’t feel it with this one. Actually talking to each other for 1 week and then engaged?? They said multiple times they’ve both wanted each other for 2 years but have rarely talked or been around each other.

My Review: This was such a cute little read in the same world as Donut Over Think It. Little spice but nice little plot. It was cool to see more on Hadley and Aiden. The MMC Asher and FMC Andrea were quite simple characters. Andrea had a little depth to her as we got some background story, but not too much on Asher. Overall, a cute little novella.
My Overall Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Spice Rating: 🌶️🌶️/5
Tropes: one night stand turns more, forbidden romance-ish, second-chance romance, push and pull dynamic, billionaire romance, fake relationship (not with each other), best friend’s brother-in-law

Love, love love. Asher on surface is a giant jerk, but really he isn't. There are so many layers to this novella, and I felt like I read a full length book. The characters are three dimensional, and so real, I just loved the chemistry between Andrea and Asher, it was visceral. The pacing, and plot were amazing, and I am astounded once again that this was a novella. Told is dual pov, this is sure to please.

I liked this short better than Aiden & Hadley’s story in Donut Overthink It. I loved how Asher went after Andrea. Loved that he was head over heals for her. Loved that she tried pushing him away. Short stories are always an iffy for me because, most of the time, they always seem like some thing is missing but this one felt good. The chemistry was there too. I would’ve loved a bigger ending but that’s only because I love the characters.

Short story

This was a cute short story. There was a little bit of follow-up on Hadley and Asher from "donut over think it." I'm that I got to see Andi and Asher's story although I feel that there could have been more to the story like what happened in the two years since Hadley and Aiden got married, what happened after Hadley told Aiden that she was pregnant, the death of Andis mom, etc. of course since it was a short story it was like boom and Asher are married the end.

I love a good book that gets straight to the point. There was a lot of story packed into this little book and it was a nice change of pace from my usual 500 page books. I wouldn’t really call this book an instalove as there was quite a bit of back story to the relationship, but it had that type of feel to it. So if you like that kind of book or are looking for a nice easy read, this book is for you.

This book is very short and to the point. So short that it is missing a lot of details. For instance, her and Asher finally get along and he is essentially courting her then it's New Years Eve and he is saying he loves her and proposes. It went from not dating ti a marriage proposal. The story is great, but it needs a lot more detail.

I'm pretty sure this is one of her earlier books. I would love to see her edit this book and extend it out with more detail.
