79 books558 followersI've always loved the written word. For as long as I can remember, I read as much as I could, as often as I could. Cereal boxes, newspapers, product packaging. Ebony, Essence, and Jet Magazine. Billboards. I loved it all. I read the entire Fear Street series, as well as the Sweet Valley Books, from Twins and Friends through Sweet Valley High. Each week I'd bring 15 or 20 books home from the library, and read them all before the due date.
Now, my mother owned a pristine, barely touched collection of Harlequin romance novels, and I was not to touch them under any circumstances. Well, as a teenager, you know what that meant. I read some of them, and got my first introduction to romance.
When I was sixteen, I picked up my stepmother's copy of Night Song, by Beverly Jenkins. The cover showed an obviously historical image of a black couple, against a beautiful backdrop, locked in a passionate embrace. With my love of history, I had to crack this book. What I read inside literally blew my mind. I was exposed to a wonderful, touching love story involving people who looked like me! What a thrill. To this day Night Song remains my favorite book, and I credit it with planting the seed of desire to write romance. I didn't get serious until many years later, but that's where it all began.

I loved Then Came You. Robyn and Troy high school sweethearts and than Troy just up and left, on prom night. Many years later he's back and feelings from long ago come crushing back. I so understand how Robyn feeling trapped by family obligations and putting her wants on hold for the family, but Troy's reappearance because of his sick grandmother and her changes everything. I hated that it ended, hopefully we'll get to hear about the wedding.
WOW, Zahra and Gregor was 🔥🔥🔥. I started reading 1 morning and finished at 5 the next morning. Any who Mrs. Joy you've done it yet again. I loved that Zahra was just what Gregor needed to show him what the love of a real woman was like, and tgat he wasn't to macho man to realize thst when he was biten by the love bug. Just another great masterpiece.

Written with Love is an intoxicating read from the beginning to the end. It's a second chance romance with a lingering effect that causes you to think about the characters long after you finish the book.
While on a much-needed separation from the outside world, Gregor pro football player and Zahra, romance novelist finds themselves at a lake house owned by their agents. Their encounter was definitely not a love at first sight introduction, more like beauty and the beast, beastly in his behavior and certainly not with his looks. The introduction of these two is hilarious. The back and forth banter between the two was crafted to create laughs for days. The encounter; mixed with realness, a growing sensitivity for each other and vulnerable moments for Gregor and Zahra, allowed them to touch the very essence of the inner soul of each other. Their connection caused them both to question if they could leave the experience of each other at Lake Lamont never to entertain what could be. However, their chemistry and connection prove to be too strong.
I love Gregor and Zahra’s story. Both fresh out of committed relationships interrupted by infidelity are hesitant to jump in another one, at least not a full-blown relationship. Perhaps one with no strings attached. But leave it to fate to intervene with their plan.
Joy Avery did an excellent job laying the thoughts and emotions of Gregor and Zahra on the pages with realness and intensity that keeps you turning the pages while rooting for their second chance at love. The development and layers that were pulled back from a relationship that once started as an undefined, no strings attached to meeting the family and a path leading to a walk down the aisle. Of course, test and trials, unplanned proposals, jealousy, and scorned ex-partners threaten their HEA, leaving them to make the ultimate decision to fight for their love.

Joy Avery: Written With Love
Zahra is a romance author and Gregor is NFL football with injury he and Zahra are set up by Zahra agent who just happens to be Zahra friend and is married to Gregor's agent. The two end up at a cabin together and are stuck there because of a storm.
I loved the interaction between the two. Gregor has a attitude out of this world and wants Zahra to leave the cabin but she has news for him that there's a storm brewing and neither could leave. The two stick it out and start getting along and Gregor remembers a incident with her about when she requested that he be a model for one of her book covers and having one of his bodyguards to ask her for him and she refuses.
This is a great love story about another member of The Cardinal House and with the help of good woman is able to overcome his issues. Even though Roth was mention not much info was given about him.

Two great stories in one book. "Then Came You" by Kianna Alexander is the story of Robyn and Troy. Robyn a Veterinarian who worked on her parents ranch and had secretly accepted a job out of state. Troy left their hometown years ago but returned to look after his grandmother. Troy had broken Robyn's heart in high school and now he was on her parents ranch. Will they be able to work together despite their past? This was a great story of a second chance at love.
"Written with Love" by Joy Avery was definitely written for love. Zahra a romance author who needed to complete a book and get over a bad relationship. Gregor an athlete recovering from an injury, wanting to get away from the public after a bad break-up. Somehow they both ended up stranded in the same house on an island. Could Gregor be "the one" for Zahra and could she restore his faith in love? I recommend this book for anyone who likes romance stories with a little steam. Joy Avery has done it again!

Romance author, Zahra Hart, and Gregor, NFL player, both end up stranded in a cabin owned by Zahra's literary agent and Gregor's agent. Zahra was there to finish her latest book and Gregor was there to heal from a injury he received from a motorcycle crash after witnessing a traumatic event. Zahra has always had a crush on Gregor freaking Carter but it was definitely not love at first sight in their first interaction. During all of their clashes, there was always underlying passion between Zahra and Gregor that neither wanted to act on in the beginning. Then came you by Kianna Alexander is a second chance romance. Robin and Troy were together in high School, went their separate ways after graduating and ended up working at the same ranch. I enjoyed the story. Even though I didn't agree with the way Robin handled things, but under stood why she did things the way she did. I also enjoyed that the story took place on a ranch, and Robin was a Veterinarian, things you don't often see in romances with characters of color.
Written With Love by Joy Avery had an odd type of paring. Zahra is a romance writer and Gregor is a football player who can't seem to stay out of trouble in the media, or so it seems. The banter between the two were hilarious, especially a certain scene with some other ladies .
Two well written stories that were very enjoyable reads.

“Then Came You” by Kianna Alexander! An Excellent Read on Second Chance Love. High School Sweethearts who parted ways under extenuating circumstances and end up back together at Robyn’s family ranch. While each of them have issues, they find a way to work through them to end up with want they each ultimately want - each other! This doesn’t disappoint!
“Written With Love” by Joy Avery! Another Excellent Read that captured me from Chapter 1 through the end of the Epilogue with Gregor freaking Carter and Zahra freaking Carter!! And, we can’t forget “Waterspout!” This was an emotional roller coaster of fun, laughter, tears, why’s, oohs and ahh!! 🤗😉 Joy did the “damn thing” with this Book as her last Kimani Romance! Definitely Highly Recommended!!

Written With Love is the last book in the Cardinal House Men series and it is bitter sweet. I have enjoyed this journey with these exceptional men that all were in the same foster home that grew up to be very successful men with loving and tender hearts. This story was about Gregor Carter a bad boy QB which is what everyone believed he was but Lil did they know he was just as sweet and tender hearted. I was so into this story that I experienced heart pain when Zahra experienced it.
This was a true Happily Ever After Read with some heat and I loved every word of it. I could not put this book down. I laughed, I teared up and I got angry this book was full of emotions.this has been a great series and I highly recommend it.

Joy Avery story was great
This was a double novel. I really enjoyed Joy avery's story with Gregor and Zahras story was relatable. I enjoyed c watching their v trust and live grow. I also enjoyed that Gregor was connected to her previous novels.
The other story was just ok by Kuana Alexander. Troy was a bit annoying an d overly sensitive and Robyn self absorbed. It took a lot longer for me to get through
that story because Troy was a bit too sensitive for my taste he was a rancher but did not come across as very tough physically or emotionally but that's just a personal preference in my heroes.

"Written with Love by Joy Avery is truly amazing, and full of heart. The H/h Gregor and Zahra are perfectly matched. They'd met previously but we're with other people. Then met again by while recovering from bad break ups from two horrible Ex's. Gregor's also recovering from an injury and Zahra has writer's block. I fell in love with this couple. Gregor's a Professional Football QB and Zahra's a Author of romance and Photographer. Check out this book. It's a two for one. The other book is Then Came You by Kianna Alexander.

Zarah and Gregor were so much fun. This is a classic happily ever after and I looooooved it. It was seamless in its transition from angry opposites to friendly associates to lovable friends.
It was like watching a movie with the scenery, emotions, and interactions so deftly described by so many colorful words, the emotions just jumped off the pages.
This was a hit, and I definitely recommend it.

Enjoyed both books
Then Came You was a story of love renewed which I enjoyd. Written with Love was hard to put down and was two people who found what they both needed in each other.
