Jane Creary wants to resume a normal life for her family after being immersed in the railroad scandal that delayed the train’s arrival to Noelle. Christmas is coming, and her mother is dying, so Jane is determined to fill this last Christmas with as many good memories as she can.
Romeo Johnson is a gifted stained-glass artist whose parents believe his skill is a waste of his family’s academic heritage. Exiled to Noelle to be taught a lesson in humility, he’s doing his best to help his cousin, who blames the Crearys for the railroad’s delay. When Jane asks Romeo to make a stained-glass window to brighten her mother’s final days, he is forbidden by his family from helping her. In this twist on the classic tale of Romeo and Juliet, will Romeo’s gift to Jane finally bring the town of Noelle together, or will their sacrifices tear them all further apart?
A self-professed crazy chicken lady, Danica Favorite loves the adventure of living a creative life. She loves to explore the depths of human nature and follow people on the journey to happily ever after. Though the journey is often bumpy, those bumps are what refine imperfect characters as they live the life God created them for. Oops, that just spoiled the ending of all of Danica’s stories. Then again, getting there is all the fun.
Pretty harmless. Sweet little feel good book. Everyone gets happy ending. Nice. But... I didn't like it. I was bored most of the book. Also, it's the last book, published 2018, and there's too much loose ends in the story of Noelle. I don't like that. Too much praying and emotions to my taste. And it didn't feel genuine. Too much talking about things, too little acting. Like "I'll pray for you". I have always found that... "goody-two-shoes" "better than thou" kind of show. Pray for me all you want, but don't advertise it as if that made you a good person, or that praying is all it takes. I mean, the good will is always a nice thing, but... I think Romeo is a better person than Jane. Romeo was being nice and kind and generous and forgiving to everyone, even the villains of the story, Jane was being "why would I be nice to him, when he isn't nice to me?" “Sol is not the only person on this earth to have suffered injustice. You don’t think I’m not suffering injustice?" Frankly, I didn't see Jane do anything nice to anyone who hadn't done something nice to her first. I wish Danica had taken more cue from Melanie Wilkes. Now, that's a lady and a Christian.
Ah, the age-old problem of the Montagues vs the Capulets is revisited in Noelle, Colorado. Of course, the story is one of reconciliation, redemption, love, romance, and celebration. A delightful read. There were a couple of technical errors where Rosalind's name was written when it should have been Jane's. Likewise, Sol's name was written when it clearly should have been Romeo.
HOWEVER!! (The following comment is not directed at Danica Favorite nor should it be construed as such.)
I am so disappointed that the subplot that has run throughout both Twelve Days of Christmas Mail-Order Brides, and Brides of Noelle: Love for All Seasons was not concluded nor there is there another book in the series. Perhaps there will be but at present, there seems to be no resolution.
Romeo, thrown out by his cousin, Sol, is given a place to stay and work on his stained-glass artwork by a friend. Sol is a bitter man, judging Noelle by the last town he was in; lawless and corrupt. Romeo is in love with Jane, daughter of the man wrongly accused of blowing up the railway bridge. The family has suffered since the death of their father, but remain kind and caring. Will Romeo be able to have his happily ever after with Jane, or will Sol ruin everything?
Jane: A Christmas Day Bride (Brides of Noelle Book 10) is a delightful mash up of the Gift of the Magi and Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. Themes of reconciliation, redemption, and love. My favorite romance in the series Brides of Noelle. Danica Favorite crafted a well written story filled with humor, head shaking at Sol’s delusion and stubbornness, and heartbreak of loss of art and life.
Romeo's cousin Sol is a hard and bitter man. He has had a tumultuous life and doesn't believe in goodness in anyone else's life. Jane Cleary and her family are the focus of Sol's hatred. When Romeo and Jane begin a friendship, both families are against them. Will love conquer all?
Oh this story! So good. I’m a sucker for Romeo & Juliet with a happy ending! The play on names & the use of Jane is cute. The only thing I would have wished for is to have a scene with Jane & the family’s reaction to the daisy stained glass window. That would have made for a real tear jerker! Totally love this story!!! 💞💞💞
What a beautifully written story. Danica Favorite is an amazing author who brings alive once again the story of two meant to be people and this time there is no woe.
Enjoyable read, the mystery continues. I enjoyed the characters of Romeo but he was a little unreal as he seems too perfect and wise for such a young man. I wanted to see more of the who done it with the sabotaging at the railroad and murder of Joe. So where is book 11
Romeo and Jane I enjoyed reading this captivating story that has some Shakespearean references. Their story is well written and has a sweet and complete HEA .
Another great story in a great series. I loved Jane and Romeo's story. I am really enjoying reading about the characters in Noelle and look forward to more books.
