In a war of gods and tyrants, the will of the dragonrider must never falter.
Captured and tortured by the brutal tyrant, Argonox, Reigh's worst fears have now been realized. Argonox has successfully twisted his mysterious dark power for a truly evil purpose--reanimating the long-deceased legendary dragonrider, Beckah Derrick, and her monstrous king drake. But Argonox's cruelty won't end there, and Reigh fears the worst is yet to come. Rescue is unlikely as the Tibrans prepare to make their final strike, poised to break Maldobar's ranks of proud dragonriders once and for all.
With many of its cities already captured by the Tibran Empire, all hope now rests with Jaevid, Princess Jenna, Phillip, and their mismatched band of dragonrider allies to lead the last stand and save their kingdom. Even in such frightful times, Jaevid may find he still has a few old friends ready to take up their weapons and stand at his side again. But facing down Beckah is perhaps the one thing that might break Jaevid's resolve. Can he really strike down the woman he used to love in order to save the kingdom? One final battle will decide the fate of our heroes. Can the strength dragonrider prevail once again? Or will the Tibran Empire become Maldobar's new legacy?

Action, dragons and fierce warriors. This is a tale of a kick-ass princess. Good and evil fighting to win the war. Dragons riders and mythical lands. This is a great series and I’ve loved every minute. Legend is the third instalment and these books are a continuous series. You need to start at the beginning. I would recommend you read this series close together. It’s been a while since I read the first two and it took me a little bit of time to remember who everyone was. This story has groups of characters in different locations and the story follows together. I’ve enjoyed ever twist and turn.
Argonox is destroying the balance between the dragon and their rider. It isn’t looking good for our heroes/heroine. Each person has a part to play if good is going to prevail. Jaevid, Princess Jenna and her misfit crew need to stand against the odds.
5 stars out 5. This series offers something different for me. I like Princess Jenna. She isn’t scared to stand tall. The twists and turns of the story make the characters loveable.

Now here's a series your fantasy loving middle graders will love!
The Dragonrider books by Nicole Conway are marketed as two separate series.
The first four books are The Dragonrider Chronicles. They introduce the main characters and deliver the first story arc. The Dragonrider Legacy includes the final three books. This series continues the story of the main characters after a 40 year time jump, introduces new characters, delivers it's own story arc, and puts a nice bow on the conclusion of both series. Because the two series are so connected, I consider them one, seven book series.
The Dragonrider series isn't unique and it's quite formulaic. Not really any surprises here.
Unassuming, unloved boy gets accepted into Dragonrider school after a dragon chooses him to be his rider. The boy discovers he's the chosen one, destined to unite the people of the land, restore order and balance, overthrow the evil tyrant, and save the day. Twice. You know, because there are two series. The ending to the first story arc was meh, but the wrongs are righted in the end of the second story arc. Dues ex machina is the go to solution for the biggest problems.
But if the formula works, it works, and these stories work for their audience. The Dragonrider series are definitely story driven. It was enough to keep me interested through 7 books! Battles, mysteries, coming of age, magic, elves, first love, humor, friendship, bad guys, heroes.
Plus...dragons! Like I always say: dragons are the bacon of books--they make everything better!
The Dragonrider books are targeted for upper-middle grade fantasy fans and dragon lovers everywhere. Content appropriate for 10 and up.
This was a fun ending to the series! I think that there were several things that could have been expanded upon and clarified, as they were lacking and didn't round out the story well enough for understanding. But many of the threads were cleared up and wound together, and many of the characters had satisfying ends. Definitely worth checking into this series!

Friends! I’m here today to talk about the third book in the Dragonrider Legacy trilogy! I received all 3 ebooks from Month9Books for free in exchange for an honest review of the the third book, LEGEND, along with my participation in a Bookstagram tour. Many thanks to Month9Books for this opportunity 🙂
I’m going to focus on the third book for this review, so if you haven’t read the first two – look away and go get the first 2 books if you don’t want spoilers! Overall, if you like dragons, dark magic, and overthrowing tyrannical, invading overlords in bloody battles – this book series may be for you! I enjoyed the series and gave all 3 books 4 stars.
LEGEND is the epic conclusion to Reigh’s journey. Sadly, most of the book is not told from his perspective – which I found mildly strange. However, as he was a captive of the aforementioned tyrannical, invading overlord I guess it makes sense – I just wanted more Reigh in my life, along with his adorably naive cockiness! Overall, the book provided a nice ending for all characters. Reigh is acknowledged as a Prince by his father, the King, and he continues to get to know his other siblings. There’s a few good battle scenes, Jaevid does pretty awesome, demigod-like tricks and of course, they defeat the bad guy.
It killed my heart that Jaevid’s long lost love was brought back to a semblance of life to haunt him in the middle, but my heart swelled when his deal with Clysiros brought her back for good! And that ENDING. WITH KIRAN??? UGH my heart. Reigh so deserved it. I loved that he didn’t ask for any conditions in the deal, and that Jaevid thought of it for him – so considerate, and showed that Reigh really just wanted the bad guys to be gone for the good of Maldobar and Luntharda.
One critique, I wanted more closure for Reigh and Enyo. Will they stay together? Does she visit him in Maldobar? Do they ever get married?? What happened to Jenna and Phillip? Basically, I need answers. I feel like there was a lot of good closure in this series but I ALWAYS WANT MORE! Especially when love stories are involved – I want to know everything about their hopefully now mundane lives!!
I knocked this down one star because a decent bit of it was a confusing. The writing seemed a bit disjointed at times, and I felt that some transitions were lacking. Some major events occurred without enough buildup or explanation, in my opinion. HOWEVER, I would continue to read in this realm and I’ve heard (from Goodreads) that there’s a prequel series where I can read about my boy Jaevid’s first war and discovering he is the lapiloque – definitely intrigued!
OVERALL. We have dragons, war, dark magic, unconditional love – AND some pretty decent characters. Nicole Conway weaves a good mixture of those highly desirable fantasy traits that will keep you reading. I recently won a copy of Scales by Nicole Conway in a Storygram Tours giveaway, so I’m glad I have the opportunity to continue reading her work.

If you have read the first 2 in this trilogy then course your going to read this one. But the story carries on as normal. There was nothing that really took new deeper into the world or characters. Sadly I got pretty board of the writing style too. But it's a nice ending to the trilogy. Enjoy.
I flew through this book, as I could barely put it down! There is so much going on as the characters are fighting for their lives, and the lives of every one else around them. I continually found myself saying “One more chapter.” Only to have to start the next one. This book like the second switches back and forth between Riegh and Jenna’s perspective. Although. I felt the majority of it was from Jenna’s I loved seeing both sides. The romance between Jenna and Phillip made my heart dance, and at other moments I found myself holding my breath for them. Jenna’s desire to please her father and gain his approval, while still being true to herself left me feeling many emotions, because of how Jenna expressed herself. Her courage, loyalty, valiant heart, and tender spirit I found admirable, and I truly love her character! The lengths that Phillip goes to for her is incredibly terrifying and romantic. I found myself holding my breath because of him several times. I can not even fathom how Riegh or Jaevid felt with the extreme pressures their powers had placed on them. The heartache, and pain that they went through throughout the series made me cry inside time and time again. I truly cringed when Riegh talked about his torture, and what he went through. I love that Riegh takes after his father Filex in his personality and humor, because I love Filex, and being like his father made Riegh even more like-able for me. Argonox is a completely insane, sadistic, tyrant of a person. I can’t even wrap my head around his cruel and evil, heart and thoughts. The author did an incredible job creating someone truly from nightmares. I am so glad I got to see Jaevid again, as he is a character I have always loved! His selflessness, giving heart, quick brain, and humble demeanor truly make him a great hero! I am also glad that Felix is in this book, and that he is still the character I loved from the first series, that is a companion to this trilogy.
Overall this trilogy, and book were incredible! I was truly surprised by the ending after the way the first series ended. I had honestly braced myself for most if not all of the good characters to die. I am pleasantly surprised by the ending, and I am glad it needed better than I’d ever imagined it would.
Legend by Nicole Conway concludes the Dragonrider Legacy trilogy. It's time for the final showdown between Maldobar and the invading Tibrans forces leaps by Argonox. As the dragonriders mass at Halfax to protect the capital and the god treasure contained within its walls, they begin to learn the horrific extent to which Argonox is abusing Reigh's power. In the end, Jaevid strikes an unlikely and dangerous bargain, gaining unlikely and powerful allies. Only time will tell if this bargain be good or bad.
This story is broken between Jenna and Reigh, using different povs for each that drives home the disparity of their experiences. Jenna's is third person, occasionally allowing insight into Jaevid, following him instead. Reigh's is first person. A prisoner being tortured, and having retreated within himself, Reigh's perspective is muffled, shrunken down to the immediate horrors he's facing. I liked that we got some interaction with Noh without Reigh. He's a fascinating figure, and it was interesting to learn the full truth of his past.
I admit, I was a bit confused at the beginning. Reigh got caught by Argonox while trying to save Aubren, then Aubren was gone and had attacked Jenna, but I can't recall that happening. The ending and final resolution were not what I expected either. It was interesting, and I look forward to seeing it play out further in later books/series. It's definitely going to shake things up! Recommended for dragon-lovers, and fantasy-lovers!
***Many thanks to the author for providing an egalley in exchange for a fair and honest review. Reviewed via Chapter by Chapter Tours
You need to read Harbinger before reading this book.
This is the last book in this series. The first few chapters reiterates some of the last events in Harbinger, but not all. If this is your introduction to the series, you're going to be confused.
I love the main characters of the story. And a few new characters had parts that I would have liked to see expanded. With so many main characters, however, it's hard to give them all big parts in the story, let alone give new characters complete story arcs. The book would probably be 5000 pages if she did that.
As always, battle scenes are epic and humor is sprinkled throughout, as well as a little romance.
I know this is the last book in this series, but I'm sure another spinoff is in the works. Hopefully, some of the new characters who only had bit parts will appear in her next story and have fuller story arcs.
Conway has done it again!! Legend is the perfect culmination to an amazing series. It is full of epic battles, heroes, villains, love, and of course dragons! Trust me when I say that you don't have to be a young adult to enjoy the Dragonrider Legacy series. In regards to the characters we have come to know throughout the series, Legend will play with your emotions but ultimately leave you in high spirits. I have read several fantasy series and I can honestly say that this is one that has kept me hooked from the beginning. Conway's character development draws you in and allows readers to form deep connections to both the main and minor characters. You know a book is great when you catch yourself thinking about it throughout the day and can't wait until you get a chance to read more. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end but Legend does so in an epic fashion
I'm sorry to say it, but Jenna ruined this book for me. There were so many chapters from her POV and I didn't care about that AT ALL. I don't hate Jenna, but she is not the main character here. It's Reigh. He is such an interesting character with lots of conflicts and problems, but at the same time he is brave and fearless. I wanted to read about him and accompany him through the adventure. And Jenna ... well she is brave too, but I didn't care about her and I had zero interest in reading her POV. The focus should be on Reigh - the true protagonist in this series. Why the author wrote the book in this way I will never understand. Too bad. It could have been a five star book.
All I wanted in this book is more of our protagonist. I connected with him in book 1 and then missed him in book 2, fully expecting him to be a main character in the final. Instead his story is missing from this book, and where he does appear, you don't know what has happened to him. The writing is fantastic, I just want more of him. This was my first series written in this world. I hope for more in the series that comes before this. I am hopeful, though, as the story and the world is fantastic.
I have been reading this series since Fledgling and am invested in the characters. This series, similar to Game of Thrones (GOT), has incredible highs and soul-crushing lows. Unlike GOT, you can read this book/series without embarrassment and your tweens can enjoy it too. Legend, the latest (last? I hope not!) brings a surprising and satisfying close to this storyline. I am thinking (and hoping) there is a little room for more about some of the tertiary characters. Read this…you will thank me.
Wow, this series and especially this book were awesome. I can't remember a series that had my emotions in such turmoil. Yep, tears to my eyes. Plan to keep these books as favourites for a long time. It's going g to take a hell of an author to match them. My thanks for letting me read them.
I've read scores of books, but few have stirred as much emotion in me as Nicole Conway's own phenomenal works of art. She draws you in so deeply that you can't help but feel for every character she creates. I'm not a cryer by any means, but I've shed tears as well as let loose with uproarious laughter with each book. I look forward to reading more.
The ending was full of impossible things happening some I found believable others not so much. Since readers are unaware of the deal Jae made with the gods of Life and Death and all the things that should have or could have been done weren’t I’m don’t see it.
I have loved following Jaevid and Reigh's journey. It is sad to see it come to an end. This book will make you cry and laugh as each character brings you into their life and you feel what they are feeling. I can't wait to read it again!
Legend is another great book added to the Dragonrider Legacy series. It is well written, funny and a great adventure with relatable characters. I look forward to seeing what Nicole Conway writes next.
Amazing book. The charcters are fleshed out really well. The protagonists are likable and really love the setup. Although there were indeed a few cliched moments but nothing too bad.
I hope this won't be the end of the Dragonrider series.
This book really took me to another world. It made me feel so many emotions. I definitely recommend this book! I may have gotten in a bit of trouble for reading this too long without any breaks!
A really great ending to the trilogy, that felt like it balanced happiness and sadness really well. I truly felt like each character’s story was tied up nicely (even some of the sad ones), and the whole nature restored thing is great too.
Wonderful ending to this series! I laughed and cried, it was so good! The build up to the ending made you wonder what direction this was going to take, so completely unpredictable! Loved it!
....entire series and was so sorry when I finished this last book. Adventure, twists & turns at every chapter; interesting characters and pure entertainment!
This is the real book after the first. Second was a pass, or it was just a preparation for what to come int the third. Finale was good. After a break, I will go more into the series.
Reading this book, experiencing reach character's views and thoughts makes this journey very unique. Highly recommended and leaves one yearning for more!
Dragons and Dragonriders, what is there not to love? Amazing story. I really loved the ending. I hoped it will end like it did. Predictable? maybe. But still great.
