Depression is killing people. Suicide is the most prominent cause of death in men under the age of 49 in the U.K. Many people are stuck in a continuous loop of hopelessness and misery. Many people have little hope for a future which may already appear bleak. Many people feel utterly alone. Many people do not see a point to any of it and see no way of moving forward. The Long Climb is a response to these sad truths. Cross offers his own personal experience of Depression and spares little detail in his suicide attempts, self-harm and issues with medications. Cross channels these experiences into his personal development coaching and is helping others within his community to move forward with Depression and Anxiety. Using widely recognised exercises and personal development principles, the reader can manage their mental health issues and reduce the grip Depression has on their day to day lives, and ultimately reduce the risk of suicide. The Long Climb will promote higher self-esteem, mental fortitude and personal responsibility. It will restore a sense of purpose and provide a reason to get out of bed in morning. It will provide the tools necessary for the reader to move towards a life of happiness and emotional freedom.
