A vacation's nice, but wizards need excitement, otherwise what's the point of having a wand and a nice hat?

I got my wish. The moment I returned from honeymoon normal life resumed. Normal for me. Meaning, magic was in the air, someone was messing with citizens' emotions, and there was a missing girl to be found. A very special girl.

Looked like The Hat was back in business.

I should have stayed on the beach, even with the sand rubbing at my nether regions.

Hi, I'm Arthur "The Hat" Salzman. Gangster. Wizard. Still chafing.

Ok, I just finished this latest in one of my favorite series, and I don’t know what to say. Not about the book, that was just about as fun as always, but I just found out that the series is almost at an end. My heart is broken (and empty?!?)…on to the book now. LOL! Arthur, The Hat, becomes enmeshed in another rescue mission, this time for a daughter of a friend who has been kidnapped. She’s special and everyone wants her. It’s up to Arthur to rescue her. These books are such fun, as well as well-written and having great characters. I do have to admit, I think it’s time for Arthur to retire; he’s got the love of a good woman, a great daughter, and a wonderful home…but we all know that never lasts. LOL! Anyway, another great addition to a fun, adventure-filled urban fantasy. I recommend this book as well as the series! I was provided the e-book which I voluntarily reviewed.

Full Disclosure – I was provided a copy of the book by the author as a member of his “A-Team”, however, have voluntarily chosen to write a review. All opinions are my own.

You are my Sunshine

Empty Heart is the tenth installment in the Wildcat Wizard series by Author Al K. Line. Continuing some time after the close of Death Calls, newly mortal Arthur has just returned from two weeks of bliss on honeymoon with Penelope. Upon their return, it becomes painfully apparent that something is afoot. After being rudely accosted by a Customs agent, Arthur quickly realizes that everyone he encounters is telling the truth… and it’s not all good. Ivan wants Arthur to get to the bottom of the disturbance, but he’s a thief, not a goon and this really isn’t his wheelhouse. Only when Steve approaches Arthur to enlist his assistance locating a missing person does Arthur finally take notice. An incredibly powerful shifter has been kidnapped and if this “mega shifter” for lack of a better word falls into the wrong hands it would wreak havoc with all of humanity. To make matters worse, the kidnapped happens to be Steve’s very own daughter. With the job now becoming personal, The Hat, Steve, and Vickie are on a mission to find Sunshine before it’s too late.

Now that the proverbial cat has run all out of lives it’s a much more rational and cautious Hat that we are dealing with in Empty Heart. But don’t let that throw you off, what he lacks in immortality Arthur more than makes up for in wit and ingenuity. For me, with the Hat now having to be concerned with his life, he sort of reminded me of Spark, but a lot less stylish and a ton grumpier! With everyone around him going totally bonkers as they are affected by the influence of Sunshine, Arthur also finds it increasingly difficult to keep things straight. Add in the fact that Cerberus has returned in a most unexpected way and are also in hot pursuit of this living anomaly it leaves the Hat with very few options for keeping Steve’s daughter from being locked up or put on display like a circus animal. While I am satisfied with the ending and dare I say it almost gave me the “warm fuzzies”, it does also leave a pretty huge elephant on the room. Where do Arthur and Vicky go from here? Next up is Sand Storm, and with the series starting to wind down and it will be interesting to see how the changes brought on in Empty Heart affect our Wildcat Wizard in the next installment.

One of the best in series!

Love all the characters didn't at first couldn't stand Vicky but author very cleverly developed her character. Plot twists and humour are particularly good so in always desperate to turn the page. Especially love the wizard with the hair dryer, hope to see him in next book.....what am i saying? Not SEE..READ!

A great adventure - worth a read!

I love the way the author writes these stories, it’s like listening to a mate tell a tale down in the pub. The characters are well developed, there’s plenty of twists and turns, and this one has kept me hooked from start to finish. Many more please Al! Well done, and excellent read.

Wow

Once again twist and turns. I was so happy for Steve and his daughter. I was also happy for Author and Penelope, but very sad for Ivan and Vicky. Overall I loved the book and waiting on the edge of my seat for the next

The Hat does it again!

Another delightful entry into the Wildcat Wizard series. Arthur may have tied the knot, but it doesn’t stop the chaos that normally surrounds him. Funny, touching and totally weird.

I really like this series. The combination of totally imaginary magical detail contrasts with reflections on our grimy urban areas/

Empty Heart is the tenth book in the Wildcat Wizard series by Al K. Line. The complete series is available in a boxset, twelve books for the price of one #winning. What a great way to get your book-binge on.
The Wildcat Wizard Complete Collection Box Set contains the entire Wildcat Wizard series by Al K. Line. It is an epic, original, and intriguing urban fantasy series - woven with wizards, vampires, magic, paranormal elements, action, adventure, mystery, suspense, danger, drama, humour, heists, quests, the supernatural, and interesting quirky characters.
The Hat is a great character, he’s a bit of an anti-hero, as he gets caught up in quite an adventure (or two) with a few heists, mobsters, criminals, villains, and dangerous and dramatic developments to contend with. Along with his fairy godmother, they take us on quite a ride- one you won’t forget anytime soon.
Happy Reading…

Thank you, Al K. Line!
