She walked into my precinct, a jail break on her mind. With more money than Croesus, she was out of my league, but I didn’t care. I knew I’d never let her out of my sight. She would be mine and I’d move heaven and earth to make it happen.

New York Times & USA Today Bestselling Author Piper Davenport writes from a place of passion and intrigue, combining elements of romance and suspense with strong modern-day heroes and heroines.
She currently resides in the Pacific Northwest with her author husband, Jack Davenport, and an obnoxious YorkiePoo named Pepper who may or may not be an international spy.
This is a re-tooled edition of the Sinners & Saints version, due to some necessary story line changes.
Jake is a different kind of story, and very well done! We see things from Jake, Addison, and Addie's BFF Layne's POV's, and we have two budding relationships going on (Jake & Addison, and Layne & Addie's brother, Arlo). We follow the mystery of Layne being accused of murder, and this in turn results in Addie embarking on a new career solving cases of the wrongfully accused.
While this is a romance (budding relationships, as I said), it's more about the depth of friendship these two women have, along with Addie's brother & pulling Jake into their family shenanigans.
I read this book when it was a part of a different collection and the new material and lines made it a must read for me again. Oh my goodness!! Addison and Layne are hilarious!! And when Layne gets brought up on murder charges Addison will do anything and everything to get her exonerated. Her shenanigans are absolutely hilarious. One thing stand in her way and it is a massive wall of sexiness- Jake. Jake is a play by the rules cop and secretly find Addison’s antics funny but he will not say that aloud. Will Layne go down for murder? Will her in Addison be able to clear Layne’s name in time? Will Jake know what hit him when Addison set his sights on making him her baby’s daddy?
Loved the spunky characters in this storyline! Addison and Layne have been best friends for years, and are constantly getting into trouble together. When Addison gets a call from Layne that she’s been fired and arrested for her boss’s murder, she goes into protective mode and starts raising hell to get her friend out of jail and exonerated. With help from her brother Arlo, who has feelings for Layne, they get her out of jail with the added help of Jake, a detective that Arlo is friends with. When Addison and Jake meet, sparks instantly fly, but Jake knows that she’s going to be trouble and a spitfire but can’t help how attracted he is to her. Addison is immediately drawn to Jake, and decides that she’s going to pursue him while working to exonerate Layne. This book had me cracking up constantly over Addison and Layne and the antics they get into while trying to gain proof and evidence of her innocence. In the end, all four characters get their HEA and Addison finds purpose in her life aside from what the wealthy daughters typically do. I loved the combination of mystery, suspense, and romance that this book provided! To me, this book was different than the typical book I read from Piper but thoroughly enjoyed it! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Piper girl, come on! Why you be so mean to me? ZERO romance. Not sure why it's called "Jake" because he is a side character. It's all about Addison and Layne and sometimes they were funny but more often they are TSTL The TiNY bit of steam comes way too late and I just skimmed because it was pretty lame. Truly sorry to say this about a book by an author I like but I paid good money for this and it wasn't a romance. Once again, I wonder if Piper is a collection of different author's who take turns. Some of these books are amazing and others are duds. At least with the Dogs series even if the the romance isn't up to par the overall story gets advances. Not cool, just not cool. I would not re-read.
A Dogs of Fire Story book 4. Jake and Addison. This book was simply fascinating. Addison bestie Layne is accused of murder. Addison goes on level 100 to defend and clear her BFF. Jake is the cop that catches the case. While he tries to solve the case, he falls for the kickass Addison. As Addison and her BFF try to clear her bestie name, they do some crazy ish. The dialogue and chemistry makes this book so fabulous. Jake and Addison may be opposites but they are everything the other needs. Also there is the great beginnings of Layne and Arlo (Addison BFF and brother) relationship. Off the charts chemistry, drama, angst and awesomeness.
Her books romance always moves fast, but this one was ridiculous for me. Addison and Jake were in each other's company maybe 2 times with very minimal interaction and this was the love story. Her friend Layne and her brother Arlo I felt had more but they were brushed to the side. The suspense aspect was fine, but the romance NOPE! Also found the main character annoying. Like her other books a lot more. Gave 2 stars for Arlo and Layne and hope she does a story from their perspective.
I truly enjoyed this book. It is about best friends, Addison and Layne. Layne is accused of murder and Addison tries to clear her name. Along the way Addison falls for Jake, the detective on the case. They are opposites but are truly good together. You also see the start of Layne and Arlo’s relationship. This book has it all romance, suspense and truly laugh out loud moments. I truly enjoyed this book and can’t recommend it enough.
Wow just WOW. Piper Davenport has written another great book. Layne and Addison are BFF's of the best kind. Addison and Arlo are sister and brother. Layne gets accused of murder. Arlo is an attorney Jake is the detective in charge of the case. We watch Addison falling for the Handsome Jake. We watch Arlo and Layne get closer together. Tears and laughter, ups and downs. The Dogs of Fire MC are in this book as well. So many great moments
OMG one of the funniest books I've read Addison is one of a kind and will do anything for those she loves including but not limited to sneaking a file in a muffin, carrying a loaded gun into a police station and breaking and entering to try and clear her besties name of murder charges. She's the kind of best friend I'd want on my side if I was in trouble. Loved the chemistry between all the characters. Can't wait for what Piper has coming next great story

series hits the makers of funny, good dialogue, excellent ‘sexy’ talk and physical connection. I always enjoy when series characters actually intertwine together in the series. I would recommend reading each book in order to get the best of the story telling but it’s definitely not necessary…just more enjoyable in my experience.
An exciting mystery spin off from the Dogs of Fire see Detective Jake Parker and Addison butt heads as they try to find out who framed Addy's best friend, i loved the chemistry and banter in this page turning story.
I received a copy and I am voluntarily leaving my own honest opinion
The book was good and my favorite characters in this book are Layne and Addison because they are both trouble together. It was a fun read trying to figure out who the real bad guy was.
Another great read from Piper. I absolutely loved Jake and Addison’s story ❤️❤️❤️ Layne and Arlo were fabulous as well. A definite page turner and very entertaining. 100% recommend this book to everyone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ you will not be disappointed 😎🖤
Jake was a fun murder mystery and double love story. I laughed out loud as Jake and Arlo were trying to keep Addison and Layne safe, alive and out of jail. Addison and Laynes antics reminded me of Lucy and Ethel sneaking around without the men knowing.
This is the first book I’ve read in this series but I am going to remedy that the first chance I get. I absolutely love both of these authors and when they write together I’m in heaven. This book is about budding romances and a friendship that goes so deep. Addison and Dylan have this friendship that goes beyond a typical friendship, they are almost like sisters. When Dylan is suspected of murder Addison does anything and everything to help her out. She hires the best lawyer, her brother Asher, who Dylan has had a crush on since they met. Asher reciprocates Dylan’s feelings but they have not acted on it. While Addison is trying to get Dylan out of jail she runs into the lead detective on the case and she is gobsmacked by his looks and manliness. Addison and Dylan get into so much trouble, while playing detectives to clear Dylan’s name, by Jake and Asher. They really go on funny escapades all to clear Dylan’s name. Will the two budding romances endure Addison and Dylan’s trying to clear Dylan’s name or will they fizzle out in spectacular fashion? I can’t wait to read more of the series. I highly recommend this book!
**Re-read New Version**

I love a good mystery, particularly with a strong female lead. This story has TWO strong female leads, which is even better! Addison and Dylan are best friends, and the strength of their friendship is displayed even more when Dylan is arrested for murder! This story alternates between Addison, Jake, and Dylan's points of view, and I really found myself relating to Dylan. I really enjoyed the relationship between Dylan and Addison's brother Asher. Dylan and Asher started as friends, and while their feelings quickly grew to love, they have both shied away from really starting a relationship. Watching them decide to explore a romantic relationship was heartwarming to watch, and I eagerly looked forward to their scenes!
While Addison is trying to get Dylan out of jail, she meets Jake, the lead detective on the case. The two hit it off, but their relationship does have some bumps along the road. Their relationship was great to watch as well, even though it was Dylan and Asher who stole the show for me.
The characters in this book are intriguing and complex. I liked their banter and found myself laughing out loud at some parts. The mystery was interesting, and that along with the suspense angles really added something extra to the story. I also liked the appearances from characters in other series, so that was a fun surprise! So excited to read more in this series!
*I received an advanced copy. All opinions are my own.
This is one of those books. You know what I'm talking about, the kind that you enjoy the first time you read it, but each time you re-read it just gets better. I read this book when it was first published, as Dial A for Addison. I loved it then. But now, the authors have re-released it. I think I loved it even more this time! These girls are absolutely hilarious, and definitely keep their guys on their toes!
Addison is a down to earth girl, born into money. But that doesn't seem to affect her personality. Even though she lives a good life, she still has problems. Her parents are at best uninterested. She hasn't decided what she wants to do with her life, beyond helping her parents plan parties. On the up side, she has a brother she loves more than life, and a best friend that is more like a sister. Then things go crazy, and she finds herself a sexy detective!
There is a lot more to this book than just your typical romance. Addison and Dylan are looking for a murderer, trying to exonerate Dylan from the charges, and just generally getting into trouble. This is a fun, suspenseful story, with enough hot romance to keep it interesting. I'm looking forward to Dylan and Asher's story!

My sides hurt from laughing so hard. I was sent to my room for being loud, By.My.Kids!!! The Three Stooges have nothing on Addison and Dylan. The authors need to write more comedy. They are killing it and my sides.
Have you ever read a book and thought "this would make a great TV series?" I would love to watch these bumbling amateur detectives as they try to solve a crime.
Addison and Dylan are best friends even though they are polar opposites. Addison is the spoilt rich girl. Dylan went to a private school on a scholarship. Addison lives in a fancy condo. Dylan's apartment has more issues than I can count. Addison lives off a trust. Dylan works hard for every penny she makes, until she doesn't.
When Dylan looses her job her world comes tumbling down. She is soon arrested for the murder of her ex-boss. He was conveniently found dead as a doornail outside her front door. She and her bestie, Addison, won't sit idly by while she is railroaded. They may have grown up on opposite sides of the tracks but they stick together. Hopefully the will both survive the adventure that ham me in stitches.
Can't wait to see what the authors come up with next.

I loved this latest book by Piper Davenport and Harley Stone. This is the story of best friends Addison and Dylan. Dylan loses her job and her friend Addison comes to the rescue like a best friend should. When Dylan gets arrested for the murder of her ex boss....Addison jumps right in wanting to prove her bestie's innocence. Now that Dylan is out on bail they both work diligently to prove Dylan's innocence. Their antics kept me in stitches...they are so hilarious sometimes!!! Of course while solving a mystery...romance is in the air!!! Addison with the detective working the case Jake and Dylan with Addison's brother Asher. The romance aspect was a nice balance to the story.
I freakin loved this story and can't wait for Addison and Dylan's next story!!! I highly recommend this story to everyone who enjoys a good mystery, laugh out loud moments, hot romance, and great banter. Well done!!!
Are you looking for humor, mystery, romance and a fun plot? Yes, then this should be your next read! This is one of the funniest murder mysteries I have ever read! I laughed out loud several times while reading this book! Addison is a no holds bard woman on a mission to prove her friends innocence and Dylan is the friend that we all would want to have! The story alternates between Dylan and Addison's points of view and it totally works!I was excited to read each section and see what each character would say next. In this book you get two romances for the price of one! I loved reading Dylan and Asher and Jake and Addison falling in love while solving a mystery. They both have off the charts chemistry! Yes, to top it all off there is a mystery to be solved! This book has strong women, alpha males, humor, romance and a page turning plot!
3 chapters into the book and I could not stop laughing. Addison is my kinda woman lol. With her quick whit and no filter mouth she instantly was my favorite character in this book. Dylan, Addisons best friend, gets caught up in a murder case and accused of killing her former boss. With the help of Addisons brother Asher and police officer Jake Dylan is determined to prove her innocence. Dylan and Addison of course take matters into their own hands, very much to the dislike of Asher and Jake. Secrets are revealed and Asher and Jake have to fight to keep the woman they love safe. Piper Davenport and Harley Stone are a phenomenal matchup. This book has it all...humor, action, love and lots of banter between the characters. I was hooked on this book from the first to the last page. Incredible collaboration by two amazing authors.
Book 3 in the Sinners and Saints introduces us to Jake, Asher, Addison and Dylan. Jake and Asher work together occasionally as one is a detective and the other is a lawyer, Addison is Asher's sister and Dylan is her best friend. Let me just say the banter between Addy and Dylan is pure gold. Real, heartfelt and comedic, these two are true BFF's. Jake is pulled into the mix when Dylan is accused of murdering her ex-boss and Addison does her level best to get her bestie from spending time behind bars. As the story progresses, we get the beginning of not one but two budding romances. Addison is immediately attracted to Jake and vice versa while Dylan is struggling with her feelings for Asher. I love the feel of this story and can't wait to see more of these four in the next book, Asher!
Ok, she’s done it again! Piper Davenport has sucked me into a story and not let me go and then left me wishing her next book was ready and waiting to read! Piper Davenport is one of my favorites and based on “Jake” I’m thinking that fact isn’t changing. This book had me laughing out loud at the wild antics of Addison and best friend Dylan, think Lucy and Ethel in 2020...oh my word! Anything that can happen, will happen and Addison will be right on top of it with her sky high heels and designer bags, dragging poor Dylan with her. Throw in gorgeously alpha male, Jake, and equally sexy, Arlo and you’ve got an amazing story! Loved this book! Great job Ms. Davenport, didn’t expect anything less and can’t wait for more.

Jake is a different kind of story, and very well done! We see things from Jake, Addison, and Dylan's POV's, and we have two budding relationships going on (Jake & Addison, and Dylan & Asher). We follow the mystery of Dylan being accused of murder, and this in turn results in Dylan & Addie embarking on a new career leading into the next story, Asher.
While this is a romance (budding relationships, as I said), it's more about the depth of friendship these two women have, along with Addie's brother (Asher) & pulling Jake into their family shenanigans.
I really enjoyed the read & am looking forward to reading the next one, as it will continue these themes (and relationships)! : )
