Since the moment Kaelynn Dotson walked into my world, I haven’t been able to think, eat, or sleep. After having my heart broken by the only woman I’ve ever loved, Kaelynn has ignited something deep down inside me—a flame so hot that I cannot ignore, no matter how hard I try.
I vowed to never open myself up to a woman again, but there’s something about Kaelynn that is drawing me to her.
There’s just one problem.
She’s hiding something from me. Trust is something I need, but when it comes to Kaelynn, all the lines seem to be blurred. I know I should take this as a warning and walk away, but for some reason, it’s only enticing me more.
~~~
I’m living a lie.
I’m not the girl from a middle-class family in Utah like Nash thinks. I’m the heiress to a billion-dollar fortune, and that’s not what he’s looking for. He’s had that before, and it left him scarred.
If the truth comes out, I’ll lose the only man I’ve ever fallen in love with . . . I’m not sure I’m willing to give him up.
Kelly Elliott has been my go to author for many years. I have read all of her books except for one. The reason I have no idea. Lol. I love her books. I love the concept and the family atmosphere. This book was very sweet and very sexy. They have both been hurt and there very cautious. She has a secret and is afraid to tell him. He knows she's hiding something from him. Love there connection between these two. Wonderful book . But then again it is Kelly Elliott.
We are really enjoying this author's stories and this current story was really cute fun and thoroughly enjoyable.
The character's Nash and Kaelynn have a lot in common even if they don't even realize it but, its their fears and past hurts and distrust getting in their way ruining their futures relationships.
I found Kaelynn to be a sweetheart also sexy,kind,smart,driven,beautiful and a really smart confident business women but, her love life is a mess as she is ruled by all her failed past relationships.
Nash we just loved him as well and found him to be smart,sexy as sin,had a sense of humor,loving and had a good head on his shoulders when it comes to business and working hard at making his dreams come true but, he is definitely broken when it comes emotionally.
We really enjoyed being on this lovers journey to find the healing and happiness that this couple desperately needed but ,this couple made a ton of bad choices getting their.For Nash it was love at first sight and I think it was the same for Kaelynn they just clicked but, this couple continues fighting their chemistry and attraction because of past betrayals when they should be grasping happiness.
We really loved Kaelynn and Nash as a couple they were so cute together had a ton in common considering their backgrounds that was saying a lot .We loved their chemistry and their playfulness when they were together. We loved the closeness of family and friends this couple had.
Overall we really enjoyed the story as it was a ton of fun and was a bit funny and had a engaging story with a tons of great character's and we loved them all.
Nash Garret hasn't been able to concentrate on anything since Kaelynn Dotson set foot into his world. He has been shielding a broken heart and doesn't want to trust it with anyone else. But Kaelynn stirs some feelings that he just can't cope with. Nash had made a promise to himself. Never be transparent with another woman ever again. There's something enticing about Kaelynn and Nash has a gut feeling that she’s not at all what she seems and is hiding something. Or could it be him being overly zealous of opening up once more?
Kaelynn Dotson is originally from Utah and finds herself living in Austin to help her friend Morgan, who just happens to be Nash’s little sister. Kaelynn isn't your average girl. Heiress to a billion-dollar fortune is not something she has any desire to share as people see dollar signs and want to be close to her for the wrong reasons. She hides this from Nash, knowing it’s something that wouldn’t please him. Having fallen for him big time, living the lie cuts deeply.
At times I wanted to bash their heads together and found myself shouting at them to get their act together. One thing’s for sure; from the word go the chemistry is mixed with drama and some humour, making Entice a very enjoyable read. I was on edge waiting for it to fall into place for them and just had a gut feeling it would bring on a lot of angst. At times I did think it was all so trivial and wanted them to simply talk; however, every time poor Kaelynn was going to try, something came up that interrupted her chance.
This is a series but this offering can be read as a standalone. I absolutely loved the side characters and learnt that Tucker and Charlie feature in the first book, so I’ll definitely be one clicking that. There are one or two others I hope to see a story about as they’d piqued my interest no end.
To sum up, apart from the frustration of secrets and lies, I loved the banter between characters, making Entice Me a delightful read. They had such a great friendship which is a firm favourite when you’re reading a story. It enhances the protagonists with the supportive cast, and I absolutely loved Kelly’s writing style; the attention given to every small detail throughout and romance oozing from every word written.
Ohhhh cracker jacks!! This book is swoooooon city! I've NEVER read that depth of feeling of instant chemistry, instant connection, instant EVERYTHING as powerful as Kelly Elliott describes in Entice Me. Nash and Kaelynn completely overwhelmed my senses with their impenetrable attraction.
Nash had sworn off women after his last relationship ended and nearly broke him. Not only could he not trust anymore, but his pride was wounded beyond repair. That is until his sister's best friend moves to Austin to help with her budding business. Upon their first meeting, the clouds parted, Nash and Kaelynn were meant to be. The sun shined brighter, colours were more vibrant, the birds chirped louder, everything was better. My heart was soaring. This is why we read romance, the fairy tale of love. Knowing someone is out there to make the dream of love come true.
Page after page, I was entranced by Nash and Kaelynn. Their insta-love, insta-lust story is completely captivating, entertaining, and super sexy. Let's not forget the HEAT!!! These two know how to spark a fire to burn up my kindle. I just loved this story!!! The Austin Singles series are some of my favorite books! I highly recommend this series to any new reader of Kelly Elliott's books, they were my first and I fell in love with her as a new-to-me author. Now I can't resist anything written by Kelly Elliott.
5 Star Review Entice Me (Austin Singles #2) by Kelly Elliott
Entice Me was full of off the charts chemistry between Kaelynn and Nash and had me riveted from the first to the last page, honestly I couldn’t put this book down and read it in almost one sitting.
Although a stand alone, since there is only one book before this one I would read Seduce Me first, but that is only my opinion.
Nash Barrett has been badly burned in the past and deeply hurt. He has trust issues and I am not sure how he will react when he realizes that Kaelynn Dotson is not what she seems to be.
I really enjoyed the story that Ms.Elliott wove about a chance meeting that morphed in to so much more. Although I also admit to a little frustration with all the miss communicating between the characters.
There is plenty of humour, drama, love and intense chemistry throughout Entice Me. Both Kaelynn and Nash are extremely likeable characters and I though Nash was totally swoon worthy at times. The banter and camaraderie within this story made me smile so much it hurt.
Can Nash and Kaelynn overcome their pasts and forge a future together? One click and find out.
The secondary characters caught my attention and I eagerly anticipate the next story in the Austin Singles series.
I came into this one blind (meaning I didn’t read the first book, note that this can be read as a stand-alone).
As I was reading, I became curious about Kaelynn and what her “story” was. She had a secret but didn’t want to tell anyone what it was. Nash was the guy that wanted Kaelynn but she “knew” that once her secret came to light he wouldn’t want her. But, can secrets truly cause them to fall apart????
I love Nash! he's one of the best book-boyfriends ever! and I loved the whole friends group in this book! ... well, except for Lily, of course! Can't wait to read more!
******************************************* #15 in my Self-Imposed-Reducing-My-TBR-Challenge #Life_in_quarantine #2020
Entice Me was delightful! Kelly Elliott put me right in the center of a lovely group of close knit friends and family that I never wanted to leave.
This is the first book I've read by Kelly Elliott, yet I felt as if I'd known everyone for years by the time I was done reading Entice Me. Yes, the story is centered around two main characters, but their lives are interwoven around their friends and family, which may have their own books, but since I've just discovered Kelly Elliott, I will be diving back into her list of written works to find out.
Nash is a man scorned by love. His longtime girlfriend cheated on him, got pregnant, and then left him because he didn't make enough money. Yeah, that is a lot to bring a man down on dating. Even months later he still felt kicked in the gut whenever he saw her, even though he knew deep down she wasn't the right woman for him. When he meets Kaelynn something inside Nash shifts, she's the first woman since he's been single that actually makes him smile. The first woman to make him feel, really..anything. That in itself is probably what scares him the most. He isn't ready to get his heart broken again, especially when Kaelynn seemed to be hiding something.
Kaelynn has a secret, one that could destroy the relationships she's just beginning to build. Morgan is Nash's sister and the reason she's just moved to Austin, starting up a new job with Morgan. Kaelynn doesn't like to talk about her family, not that they are bad, but because they are wealthy. Extremely wealthy. In her history, people tended to treat her different once they find out she comes from money. So, Kaelynn doesn't exactly feel that she is lying, as much as omitting that she is wealthy.
Once Kaelynn learns about Nash and his ex, the amount in her bank account becomes an elephant in the room. The longer she waits, the more the issue weighs on her, but she's also afraid to lose the connection she's building with Nash and his friends. What choice makes the most sense when she knows she has to eventually make one, come clean and lose the man she's beginning to care about, or live a lie?
Nash and Kaelynn have amazing chemistry from the beginning. Nash may have his hangups about dating, but he also wants what his friends have; family and a forever love. He is super swoon-worthy, a delicious book boyfriend. Kaelynn constantly comments that his ex was an idiot for giving him up, yet she's very happy she did. The two of them are very cute.
The world Kelly Elliott has built is sweet and inviting and I can't wait to revisit them.
“I'd never in my life met a man like Nash Barrett, and the thought of losing him scared me more than I wanted to admit.”
Nash Barrett fell in love once. With the younger sister of his best friend. He thought he loved her and that she loved him too. But he was betrayed and dumped for a more successful guy. After that, he decided he would not open his heart any more. Until bumping into a girl wearing an unconventional T-shirt.
Kaellyn Dotson hides secrets. And meeting Nash Barrett, her older brother’s best friend, makes her question her actions at the same time as she fears his reaction to the revelations she has to make. The disappointments she has suffered in the past makes her not easily trust people.
As we read the unfolding of events between Nash and Kaellyn, we will again see Charlie, Tucker, Terri, Jim and Blake. And even with so many wonderful characters (excluding Lily, of course) the protagonist of the plot is fear. It consumes both Kaellyn and Nash, each in its own way. Fear of being judged, fear of being used, fear of being deceived, fear of not being understood. Fear engulfs them as the feelings that nourish for one another grow.
Misunderstandings and some bad decisions leave the reader with a tight heart as he cheers for this couple. Nash and Kaellyn's relationship develops at the right speed to make the reader sigh and dream. A light reading, romantic and with a humorous touch. A perfect choice for lovers of a good romance.
I felt bad for Nash since the last book in the series, what Lili did to him was unforgivable and cruel. She hurt him so deeply that he now was half of the person he used to be; he had no intentions of opening his heart to anyone else, his wall was so high up he couldn't even see past his pain.
That is until he sees Kaelynn, she is a beacon of light in his ocean of darkness, but things will be more complicated than what they seem and taking a chance on her could mean taking a risk he is not ready for yet.
Kaelynn's life has been privileged but doesn't mean she hasn't had hard times like everyone else. How can you be sure someone likes you for you and not for whom your family is.
So, long ago she decided she will try to be someone else, and that's why she is somewhere no one knows her trying to get people to like the true her.
Something that starts with lies can crumble at any moment and when you hide something for so long, the truth might destroy everything you have built.
Their love story is really fast paced, they had a kind of instant love-attraction thing going, which is cute but at the same time a lot to handle.
Nash was such a sweet soul, I love bad boys most of the time, but I kind of want to keep him on my book boyfriend list forever now.
Nash and Kaelynn,❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️. These two are my favorites from this series. I was intrigued by Nash from the previous book and I’m sooooooo happy he got his HEA and that he found Kaelynn. He deserved all the happiness in the world and I’m happy it was Kaelynn. She was the most beautiful down to earth and sweetest person ever. She had her insecurities which had more to do with her families background and it sort of connected to something that happened to Nash in the past but then they got over it.
Their attraction was immediately but boy did these two take forever to get together and finally see what was in front of them. It was beautiful seeing how their friendship developed and the ups and downs that they experienced before taking a step. At times it was frustrating lol but oh so cute. He had an ex that didn’t get a hint but I’m glad we didn’t focus on her and she was nonexistent. Nash has amazing friends and Kaelynn parents and siblings were amazing. Her and Nash had that in common, they were close to their family and loyal especially Nash to his friends. The ending which I know there’s more was beautiful!!!! I loved it!!!!!
I can’t wait for book 3 to read more on these two and also go read on the next couple which I knew were going to be the next ones eventually, 😊
~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~
This is the second book in the series - they could be read as standalones, but Tucker and Charlie from book 1 do feature large too, so why miss out on the goodness?
In this story we get reminded of the potential impact of dating best friend's sibling / best friend of sibling both in a good and a not so good way. Nash's failed relationship with Lily, Tucker's sister, is still causing awkward situations to arise within their friendship group. But when Nash sees Kaelynn at Tucker's club, he suddenly realises he is ready to move on. It was a lovely moment, which he holds to him when he is questioning what secret Kaelynn is keeping from him - and undoubtedly endears him to the reader.
Obviously the road to true love is never smooth, and this is no exception, but these are two people who immediately appealed to me, and always deserved the ending which Kelly Elliott crafts for them. I enjoyed the banter, the teasing from Blake, the interference from Charlie, and the help of the snowy weather! All in all a very enjoyable book, which I devoured over the course of a night ... sleep, really who needs it?
A great addition to the series, and there are clearly more of the gang who are ready to find their HEA, I look forward to reading about it soon.
Ever since finishing Seduce Me, I have been excited to get my hands on the next book in the Austin Singles Series and I’m hear to tell you that Entice Me does not disappoint.
Entice Me follows the story of Nash and Kaelynn. From the moment Nash lays eyes on Kaelynn, he can’t help but be intrigued by her. Even though he’s sworn off women, he can’t help but want to know more about Kaelynn. As much as he’s drawn to her, Nash can’t help but feel like Kaelynn is keeping something from him. Nash desperately wants to give Kaelynn the benefit of the doubt, but when you’ve been burned before, how do you ever trust again…..When Kaelynn moved to Texas, romance was the last thing on her mind. But, when it comes to Nash, there is just something about him that can’t be ignored. He’s a breath of fresh air that Kaelynn just isn’t used to. However, there’s something about Kaelynn that no one knows. Nash & Kaelynn come from two different worlds. Will Nash be able to accept the truth that Kaelynn is hiding? Or will the truth cost Kaelynn the only thing she’s ever wanted? There’s only one way to find out….
Entice Me was a captivating read from beginning to end. Nash & Kaelynn were such a joy to watch. They both had some obstacles to overcome in their journey to find their happily ever after. At times, they frustrated me and man, do I wish they would have communicated better. But, it’s those will they/won’t they moments that kept me on my toes and left me begging for more. Nash & Kaelynn had explosive chemistry and I really enjoyed watching them learn and grow and put their hearts on the line.
Once again, Kelly Elliott has written a story that not only kept me glued to the pages, but put my emotions through the wringer. Entice Me hit all the marks with it’s sexy good times, wonderful characters and an oh so delicious romance. Entice Me is a terrific addition to the Austin Singles Series and I look forward to seeing where this series will go next!
*I was provided an ARC copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review*
Just when I think Kelly Elliott can’t make me love her writing more she goes and releases Entice Me. This book blew everything out of the water. Nash even knocked my precious Gunner, who’s been my number one for YEARS, down a peg. I never thought this day would come and frankly I’m not sure what to do with myself now. Actually yes I am and what myself is going to do is go back and read this all over again so I can get another fix of my newest addiction. Nash and Kaelynn have that rare knock you on your butt, world tilting, life changing kind of love that hits you the second they meet. Neither of them saw the other one coming but that kind of once in a lifetime pull hit them right from the start and that magnetism grows stronger and stronger through every page of their story. The sweetness abounds even when they both try to deny what’s right in from of them because past hurts and secrets they both have. But in true Kelly Elliott fashion there’s no fighting this kind of magnificent love and these two will have you just as swept up in their story and they are in each other.
**I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.**
Entice Me is the second book in the Austin Singles series. It can be read as a stand alone without any issues but as always they are better when you read them in the order the author intended.
Nash Barrett was cheated on by his girlfriend, she ended up pregnant with the rich man's baby. Nash swear off women for good until he bumps into a mesmerizing woman at his sister Morgan's birthday party. Something about the woman draws Nash in. When he finds out it's his sister's best friend he's excited to see where it will go. But there is a lurking feeling Kaelynn is hiding something from him. Something that could destroy what they are building.
Kaelynn moved to Austin from Utah happy to go where no one knows who she is. To keep her personal life private she goes by her mom's maiden name. When she meets Nash she's hooked she has to know who he is. He's the first guy who is with her for her and not her parents money. After learning what happened in Nash's past relationship she knows she has to come clean with her secrets but could him knowing drive him away?
I am loving this series. The characters have such a real down to earth feel about them. Once you fall into the story you want to be friends with the characters. Honestly, I could read Kelly Elliott's grocery list and be happy.
What a wonderful story from Kelly Elliott. Entice me grabbed my attention immediately its a story full of trust issues, secrets, heartbreak and love.
Nash has built up walls around his heart after his ex cheated on him because his bank account wasn't big enough. He's not looking for love and especially not with someone from a wealthy family that is until he sets eyes on Kaelynn. Kaelynn is new to town and Nash's younger sisters best friend, she's also the heiress to a multi-million dollar fortune not that she tells anyone her families background. The night she and Nash meet sparks erupt but she knows a little about his breakup so keeps quite about her wealth. How will Nash react when he finds out what shes hiding or will Kaelynn discover something about Nash that will end their relationship before it even rally begun?
A fantastic story which can be read as a standalone but I would definitely recommend reading Seduce Me (Austin Singles #1) first.
Entice Me (Austin Singles #2) by Kelly Elliott 4.5 stars M/F Romance I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.
This is the second book in the series and while it can be read as a standalone, I really like this series, so far and recommend reading the first book.
Nash Barrett has been burned before. Despite loving his then, girlfriend, she cheated on him and followed another man's pocket book. While this did cause some issues among his friends since he was dating his buddy's sister, he was able to remain friends with everyone. Nash's sister, Morgan, is a force. She wants him to find happiness and when she sees that he might find it in her best friend, Kaelynn, she jumps in with both feet.
Kaelynn loves her job. She also loves her best friend. Helping her best friend be able to do what she loves and help people at the same time is amazing. When Kaelynn meets Nash for the first time, she doesn't realize that he's Morgan's brother. The attraction is instantaneous and strong. But, when she realizes that he's Morgan's brother and that he has an aversion to wealthy women, she knows that their relationship can't go further.
With perceived and real hidden truths, both will have to decide if they can overcome their past hurts and who they are. I really enjoyed these characters. They are down to earth, well developed, as well as easy to relate to. I can't wait for the next book!
Entice Me by Kelly Elliot is such a super cute story filled with amazing friendships and lots of love. This is the second book of the Austin Singles series and can be read as a standalone. They storyline is easy to follow and learning about everyone and their dynamics was pretty simple. I absolutely loved how tight the characters were, all staying best friends since college and even with a few of them dating there are no awkward moments. Everyone had each other's backs and with how down to earth their personalities were, I truly felt like I was there and part of the group.
Nash and Kaelynn meet at a birthday party for Morgan, her newest best friend and his sister, and sparks fly right from the start. Nash is still nursing a broken heart and is quick to friend zone Kaelynn, although he quickly realizes he truly does has feelings for her. There were some frustrating moments between these two figuring out what they wanted but Kelly Elliot did keep their story pretty straightforward with not too much drama. I did feel the pace was a bit fast but Nash and Kaelynn were so cute together that I didn't mind that much. I'm keeping this short so as not to spoil so I will just say I enjoyed reading Entice Me very much and look forward to getting to know these characters some more in upcoming books.
Entice Me is the second book in the Austin Singles series, and although it can be read as a standalone, I really enjoyed book one and recommend reading it.
As Kelly always does, she made me fall in love with her characters. Nash and Kaelynn took a while to figure out they should be together, but once they did they were so sweet and cute. With some drama and a secret in the mix, we have a great story that I loved. I also enjoyed seeing characters from book one in this one.
Entice Me is well written, fun, hot, and sweet. A must read!
I came into this one blind (meaning I didn’t read the first book, note that this can be read as a stand-alone).
As I was reading, I became curious about Kaelynn and what her “story” was. She had a secret but didn’t want to tell anyone what it was. Nash was the guy that wanted Kaelynn but she “knew” that once her secret came to light he wouldn’t want her. But, can secrets truly cause them to fall apart????
I fell in love with Nash in the first book of the series and his heartbreaking tale needed a happier ending. Just when he thinks he will never find a woman worth his time he literally walks right into Kaelynn. Although an instant connection is felt it is not until baggage from both their lives comes into play and sets the romance into a standstill. Can Nash open his heart to someone who has similar circumstances to the one that destroyed him? Can Kaelynn help him understand that he is in fact good enough to love? Honest, emotional and filled with passion and understanding this was a fabulous read. I cannot wait to read the next book in the series!
'Entice Me', the second book of three in the 'Austin Singles' series, is a wholesome treat for fans of Kelly Elliott and cowboy romance fans alike. 'Entice Me' follows Nate Barrett & Kaelynn Dotson through a thrilling, comedic, drama-filled journey on their personal road of discovery, trust issues and plenty of wanting and yearning past personal barriers, holding one another back from what they truly desire. If you were a massive fan of book one in this series like I was, then strap yourself in for this review. *Warning* - Spoilers ahead.
Kaelynn and Nash meet in a very cute and super realistic way, literally running into one another. These moments where things can happen to you in real life as what happen to the characters, always make me feel more connected to the overall story, as it's not just a situation written purely to get the two main characters to meet that simply won't happen in the real world. This is what first attracted me to read more of Kelly's books, the core element and similarity to real life always draws me back to read more.
The two of course, form an instant connection in which neither of them can explain or ignore, something is just there that excites and scares them at the same time. This in turn adds the very familiar and favourable 'will they, won't they?' that we all can't seem to get enough of. From the very moment Kaelynn and Nash meet, we're already figuring out ways in our heads as to the direction their story is going to take, until our eyes catch up with the actual story written out before us.
Throughout the book, you will discover there are many themes and sub-plots which will make up the main meat of the story. One main core theme that sticks out for both characters is trust. Worked into the story in different ways, trust is one thing in which will keep our two main characters from getting fully involved with one another until they both comes to terms with, solve and work past their trust issues holding them back. For Nash, being burned by an ex to the point of swearing off women, holds him back from fully trusting Kaelynn, especially when his gut is telling him that she's holding something back from him. Something big. For Kaelynn, as soon as people learn that she's an heiress to not just millions but billions of dollars, she's seen and treated differently. Hence her trust issues in people really seeing her for her, and not for her family's wealth.
After sharing a passionate night together, finally, after several things getting in their way, the morning after does not bring bedded bliss as expected. Instead and much to Kaelynn's shock horror, she discovers what Nash had decided to do as a result of his personal curiosity and insecurity. He ran a background check on her, being handed the results prior to their night together. Waking up (alone) to find this on the bedroom floor was NOT what Kaelynn was expecting. Not knowing that Nash had told his friend Blake to get Blake's brother to cancel the background check, Kaelynn books it out of there hurt and torn over what she thinks is a betrayal of trust and honesty.
Thanks to Blake's error in not telling his brother to cancel the search before the point of no return, it seems at this stage that this is the end of Kaelynn and Nash. That is however, until Nash decides to fly out to where he sneakily found out she'd run to, hell bent on setting the record straight. Or is he? He thinks he'd going there to do just that, when it's obvious to the parties in the know of his plan, hat he's actually going to Kaelynn's side to fix things because deep down, he loves her and wants her back. Hilarity ensues as when it appears the dust has been settled between the two, he now has to contend with Kaelynn's brother and his girlfriend, sister, and two 'crafty' ladies.
Will Nash and Kaelynn survive an unexpected snowstorm that throws them together, alone, throwing a power outage for good measure? Or will the blizzard freeze all chances of them making amends in order to move forward? There's only one way to find out.
If you're looking for a love-filled, wholesome, comedic, drama-dripping, cowboy-loving story that will keep you from being able to end reading at even the end of a chapter or beginning of a new one, 'Entice Me' is the perfect book for you or for anyone looking for a read that will leave you wanting for more, more, more.
Book 3, 'Adore Me', comes out June 27th 2019, keep your eyes peeled and your finger on the 'pre-order' button for the final standalone book in this darling series! I know I will.
I could not wait to read Nash's story. Oh my book lovin' heart, it was amazing!
Entice Me is the second book in the Austin Singles series by author Kelly Elliott. These books in this series are stand alone but honest to goodness you want to read them all as with any of Mrs. Elliott's book series. I say this each and every time I write a review, this author never fails to deliver the absolute best to her fans. I am a picky reader. I want my happily ever after but I also want a book that moves me. I want an author to tell me a story and through their writing I can see the images in my mind and author Kelly Elliott's writing does just that. When you can close your eyes and actually envision a scene you've read or when a scene is written with such emotion FEEL what that character is experiencing......that my fellow book readers is the work of a true artist.
Entice Me gives of the story of Nash and Kaelynn. We met Nash in book one of this series (if you haven't read Seduce Me....add that to your TBR list). Nash was in love, in a relationship he wanted to share with his friends but she didn't. After an ultimate betrayal, he's done. Not only did she break his heart but his pride. He will not allow himself to be made the fool of again. No spoiled rich girl will ever betray him like that again. Fast forward to his sisters birthday. A bump into a stranger, a funny t-shirt all lead to a moment that will forever change the direction of his broken heart.
Kaelynn Dotson has a heart of gold. Longs to help others and will use her family's influence and money to do just that. Yes, you heard right..she has money and a lot of it. That alone is why she is guarded. People don't want to get to know her, Kaylynn. All they see are dollar signs not the heart of her. Her dreams and hopes. How does she know who to trust? While attending a friends and business partners birthday she chances upon a handsome stranger. Color her shocked when she discovers that stranger...those dimples belong to her friends brother.
Nash and Kaelynn fight these feelings that keep pulling at them. It seems every time they take a step forward something happens and it's another step back. They both know this pull isn't something that will just go away. Nash knows Kaelynn is holding something back but what he just doesn't know. After having his heart shattered secrets are something he just cannot live with. Once the heart finds that true match how do you walk away? Miscommunication and yes secrets eat at both of them. Once that secret is, well no longer a secret how will Nash respond? Will he understand or will he just see another rich girl? How do they move beyond, can they? One thing is for certain...the secret is out and he wants answers and he will follow her anywhere to get those.
Oh my goodness, to revisit the host of characters in this book was a true delight. The family feel you get in Mrs. Elliott's books is like a warm hug. Yes, family because that is exactly the feelings portrayed by the friends in this series. You feel as if you know each character personally. Find yourself cheering, crying, laughing and yes wanting to smack a couple in the noggin'. It's her writing that allows fans to feel apart of these books as they are reading. With Nash...you felt that utter betrayal with is ex. The heartache and reason for his distrust. Kaelynn you felt the love she had for others. How she longed to use her money to bring others joy. Her volunteering her services to start organization for the greater good. You also knew why she held back, why she too didn't trust. To see these two characters maneuver their way to love was a joy to read. That path to love is never straight, never without falls, never without hurt......but once you face all those battles and see that beautiful light that is love, it's so worth the battle scars to get there. Yes, I would definitely recommend this book. Beautiful story!
I’ve always been intrigued by the idea of chance encounters and the role fate plays in making them happen. And while I’m not completely sure about fate and free will’s relationship or if they co-exist amicably, what I do feel strongly about is that timing is everything and that being in the right place at the right time allows people to heal, to succeed, and to move forward in their lives to the best of their ability.
Nash Barett and Kaelynn Dotson unexpectedly met each other, and from their first exchange, it was clear there was mutual attraction and perhaps even a spark between them. But these two come from different worlds and since Lily, Nash has sworn off women, which means that as much as Nash is intrigued by and interested in Kaelynn, the repercussions of those feelings might be too much of a risk to take.
I can’t say that I blame Nash for safe-guarding his heart after his ex cheated on him and his trust and faith in women was broken. It has to take a lot for those ill-feelings and unhappy memories to not dictate how to proceed in life. But there’s something about Kaelynn that calls to him…that makes him want to take a chance, the problem is, Kaelynn’s lack of honesty about who she is and where she comes from might make their connection impossible to keep.
On some levels, I understand why Kaelynn hid her real identity. She has anonymity in Texas unlike in Utah - she can be herself and be accepted for who she is as a person not due to her last name or the status that goes with it. It has to be awful wondering if people like you and/or want to be around you because of your bank account and what you can do for them or if they truly want to be your friend. But because of what Nash had already endured, I would have thought that Kaelynn would understand the need to be completely honest, even if her reasons seem logical.
A relationship issue that frustrates the heck out of me is a couple’s lack of communication, and this flaw threatens to destroy what Nash and Kaelynn are building and that’s on top of the secret Kaelynn is keeping about her family background. Either one of these issues can upend a relationship, so the fact that they have to contend with both of them definitely makes it seem like there are just too many obstacles standing in their way.
I spent a lot of the story wondering when the truth would be revealed and how Nash would find out, at some parts, I was actually begging for Kaelynn to expose the secret because I knew the longer she took, the more difficult it would be for these two to get back what was more than likely going to break them.
It’s more than clear as the story progresses just how good these two are together, and while it does take them a bit of time to figure things out, once they do, the steamy and heartfelt scenes more than illustrate what they’ve come to mean to each other.
One aspect of Kelly Elliott’s stories that I always love is the roles that the main characters’ family and friends play in the lives of the hero and heroine. Kelly Elliott surrounds her main characters with supportive and comforting people, but also ones who are more than happy to call them on their crap and help them see the truth when it’s unclear to them.
Entice Me is another great read in Elliott’s Austin Singles series; it has a great balance of steamy scenes, dramatic encounters, and heart warming conversations. Nash and Kaelynn have a number of layers to their personalities and I like how the author unravels that information as their story continues and does so in a way that allows readers to truly understand who the characters are and how they feel about everything that plays out in their book.
4.5 Poison Apples (The Fairest of All Book Reviews)
Nash never thought he'd be able to trust another woman after his best friend's sister broke his heart. However, the moment he meets Kaelynn Dotson, he finds he's unable to stay away from her, even as he suspects she's hiding something. However, when he discovers the truth, will Nash and Kaelynn be able to overcome the fact that they're from different worlds or will they go their separate ways?
Normally, Ms. Elliott has the ability to pull me into her stories right from the beginning, but this story I struggled to get into because of the hero's ex that didn't deserve the hero's attention and the fact that the heroine thought hiding something so huge about herself was a good idea. Couldn't Lily take a hint that Nash wanted nothing to do with her? Why couldn't the heroine open up to the hero about her family? Is she really desperate to hide that she comes from a family that has money just because Nash doesn't want to be with another person who comes from a family with plenty of money? However, in saying that, by the end of this story I absolutely loved it.
As for the dialogue, it was intense and entertaining due to the main characters back stories because they're from two different worlds and neither are looking for a relationship. Yet, they find they're drawn to each other and can't seem to resist being around each other. Furthermore, both the main characters are interesting due to their back stories and their journey to happy ever after is filled with tough obstacles. Yet, I liked that the hero took a chance on Kaelynn, even knowing that she's hiding something; something that could very much put an end to their blossoming relationship if he discovers the truth.
With the main characters, the heroine is strong and brave for taking the chance that she has in starting her own business instead of working for the family company. It shows how much initiative she has, especially with the work she does to help veterans. I also liked that she gave Nash a chance, even knowing that things could end in disaster once he learns the truth of what she's hiding. Then again, the means he goes to in order to discover her secret could just as easily cause a rift.
While the hero, he's resilient, courageous and I liked that he took a chance on Kaelynn because she's the first woman he's been interested in since his ex broke his heart. I also liked the close friendships he shares with the small group of friends he has and that they're always giving him advice because they believe he needs to move on. Certainly, Lily broke his heart, but it isn't the end of the world and Kaelynn is good for him. Yet, what I liked most of all about the hero was the tight bond he shares with his sister and that they always have each other's backs. Then again, their father isn't the easiest man to get along with. There's stubborn and then there's being too set in one's ways to ever be able to compromise, which is how I imagined the hero's dad to be when the siblings talked about him at the beginning of this story.
Overall, Ms. Elliott has delivered a really good read in this book where the chemistry between this couple was strong; the romance was delightful and had me loving that these two took a chance on each other; and the ending had me worried for this couple's happy ever after because of the heroine's reaction to something Nash does, but had me loving the way they make things right between them to achieve their happy ever after. I would recommend Entice Me by Kelly Elliott, if you enjoy the sister's best friend trope, the opposite attracts trope or books by authors Corinne Michaels, Kristy Bromberg, Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland.
~ 5 Enticing Stars ~
Well Kelly Elliott has another great story to the Austin Singles Series. Entice Me was a truly entertaining read.
Like Seduce Me, this is what I have come to expect when reading a Kelly Elliott book. Yes some of it was predictable and I thought some of the miscommunications was a little too much, I wanted to shake both Nash and Kaelynn, but I fully enjoyed this book and would recommend to ALL of Kelly Elliott fans.
Entice Me is the second book in Kelly’s Austin Singles Series. This book is a standalone novel but I would recommend reading this series in order. Just because there are reoccurring characters that play a big part in this story. This is a chance meeting style story, that is told in Dual POV. I thought the pace and flow of the story worked well for these characters and the journey they went on. My only negative, was I wish they had better communication skills. That caused a lot of the drama that I thought didn’t need to really happen. But that didn’t ruin my over all enjoyment of the story. Just a personal preference.
In this book we follow Nash and Kaelynn. Nash is the older brother of Morgan, Kaelynn’s BFF, and he is also Best Friends with Tucker and Charlie (from Seduce Me) Nash works with his father at the family construction company, but really wants to take over and would like his did to release the reigns a little. Nash has been burned din the past by an ex girlfriend so he is very leery to trust someone new. That is until he literally runs into Kaelyn at his sister Morgan’s birthday party. Kaelynn is the BFF of Morgan and has moved to Austin to help her Morgan start up her new business venture. Kaelynn also comes with her own trust issues, so she has learned to protect herself anyway she can. That is all thrown out the window when she meets Nash. Both taken by complete surprise meeting each other, are they willing to break down there walls?? What happens when a secret comes to light?? Can they find their HEA?? Read this book to find out.
I loved following more of Charlie and Tucker’s story and getting to know both Morgan and Blake better in this book. I look forward to their book next….I hope ;)
If you are looking for an entertaining story with laughs, love, steam and some drama, then you will want to read Entice Me. You truly can’t go wrong with a Kelly Elliott book. You know you are in for a real treat when you pick up one of her books.
Nash Barrett has been hurt before. Just when he’s ready to move on, he bumps into Kaelynn Dotson. There is just something about her that ignites something deep inside him, he can’t seem to get enough of her but he knows she’s holding something back, a secret from him. Being Nash’s younger sister’s best friend gives Kaelynn insight to Nash’s life. She knows what he went through with his ex, so telling him that she’s an heiress is out of the question but giving him up is the last thing she wants to do. If the truth comes out, she could lose him for good!
I was gifted the book in exchange for an honest review.
Nash Barrett works for his father’s construction company. He once thought his life was set until the rug was pulled out from under him. Now that things are starting to get back to normal, the only thing left is to move on. Nash loves his family, especially his younger sister, Morgan. With her starting a new business and hiring a consultant has him wanting to make sure she knows what she is doing. Little did Nash know, the woman he bumped into at his sister birthday party would be the one who got him out of his funk. Also she just happens to be the consultant he thinks his sister doesn’t need.
Kaelynn Dotson is looking for a fresh start away from the fake people she’s use to dealing with. Meeting Morgan Barrett has been refreshing but she is keeping a secret from her. When Kaelynn bumps into the hot guy, who just happens to send a jolt through her body. Little did she know that he just happens to be her best friend’s brother, Nash Barrett. Knowing his past thanks to his sister, Kaelynn decides keeps the fact she comes from money from both of the Barrett’s.
Nash and Kaelynn have this undeniable chemistry. Just a touch sends electricity through them. What is happening between them is more than both of them have ever felt and this ends up scaring the crap out of both of them. This leads them to do things that had me wanting to reach into the book and give them both a shake. Fate has brought them together but these two just seems to keep adding up the mistakes which brings them to the one place they don’t want to be, running scared.
Kelly never fails her readers. She bring her characters to life and made me feel like I was actually in the story while I was reading. There is just something about Nash that had me coming back for more. He had this kind of bad boy vibe going on and Kaelynn is like the girl next door. She’s the one you want to get to know and you want as your friend. Both Nash and Kaelynn are characters you love to read about. I found myself wanting to get back to the book as soon as I put it down. This book flowed so well, that I actually forgot what time it was when I was reading. I loved this book just as must as her others and this is another amazing read by Kelly!
Sweet Love Story. Just not my favorite. Spoilers Included
No cliffhanger Standalone though part of a larger series Told from both POVs Editing issues throughout.
I love Kelly Elliot and all the books she writes. I think I have read every single one of them and she does a great job of not making them all seem the same but something about this book just didn’t capture me like past books. There were also quite I few editing issues. Nothing I couldn’t get past but still noteworthy.
Perhaps it was all the unresolved drama (see spoilers below) that left me wondering what happened or perhaps it was just that Nash was too sweet, who knows.
Nash is the hot guy with a heart of gold but has been burned in the past. He wrote off women so he doesn’t get his heart broken again. Especially women who come from money.
Kaelynn is the heiress to a multimillion dollar fortune but you would never know it. She keeps that a secret because she has been used in the past to get to her money.
Talk about a disaster waiting to happen. A women from money who hides it falls for a guy who wants nothing to do with liars or wealthy women. What could possibly go wrong.
I won’t give away their love story. My spoilers are more just moments that left me scratching my head.
Overall it was a sweet love story. Just a little too sweet for me. I like a bit of a bad boy or an alpha male.
SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS ... ... ...
Don’t say you haven’t been warned. These are really just a few moments that felt unresolved to me.
1. Nash’s ex keeps trying to get back with him but then just disappears never to be heard of again on the book. Where is the closure? Where is the karma moment where she gets what she deserves or at least sees Nash is happy and in love with someone else. 2. Nash and his father have a major falling out but it is never resolved. Did Nash’s dad finally trust him to run the business or not? Did they kiss and make up? There was an opportunity at the end of the book to bring closure to that part of the story but instead his parents were “out of town”. 3. Does Nash have money or doesn’t he? He says he is a simple man but then there’s this throwaway line about him investing his money well and then he is buying 59 acres and building a dream home on it. Those things just don’t add up.
