In the tradition of such works as The Romance of Lust, The Boudoir, Suburban Souls, and Beatrice, this powerfully poetic, powerfully sensuous story of an alluring, enigmatic young woman learning about the infinite manifestations of love, holds a revered place in the Blue Moon Victorian Library.
I didn't enjoy this book as much as Dorothea, the first book I read by this author. This story is very well written and exciting in places but it was also a little confusing. Somehow these ghosts or spirits make appearances and just as quickly disappear and I didn't understand the meaning of it or deduce their purpose. This was not a science fiction or mystery novel. I was kind of lost on their purpose and felt I was missing something. Perhaps I'll have to read it again.
