Napoleon Hill's work has touched the lives of countless thousands through his lectures, teachings, and prolific writings. His internationally known books Think and Grow Rich and The Law of Success have become the standards of motivational literature against which all others are measured.
To make available in perpetuity the success principles he spent a lifetime identifying and sharing with others, on August 21, 1962, Dr. Hill and his wife, Annie Lou, founded the Napoleon Hill Foundation. A not-for-profit corporation, the Foundation's sole purpose is to continue to spread his philosophy of success through the co-operation and support of others, rather than at their expense.
The 17 principles of success he quantified in his writings and lectures aid not only the individual who practices them, but all those with whom he comes in contact, as well. Those principles along with his lifelong published works and yet unpublished manuscripts, recordings, and courses comprise the legacy Dr. Hill endowed in the Foundation.
Dr. Hill enjoyed close friendships with many of the turn-of-the-century business leaders who played a significant role in shaping the destiny of America and the world. Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Harvey Firestone, Theodore Roosevelt, and Alexander Graham Bell were but a few who freely shared the secrets of how they attained their success with Dr. Hill.
Andrew Carnegie so strongly believed in the universal principles of success that he sponsored the research and writing that became the first authoritative treatise on the subject, the Personal Success Philosophy of Achievement by Napoleon Hill.
This practical self-study program will help you thoroughly understand and apply the 17 principles of success in your own life, to achieve any goal — however ambitious.
Oliver Napoleon Hill was an American self-help author and conman. He is best known for his book Think and Grow Rich (1937), which is among the best-selling self-help books of all time. Hill's works insisted that fervid expectations are essential to improving one's life. Most of his books were promoted as expounding principles to achieve "success". Hill is a controversial figure. Accused of fraud, modern historians also doubt many of his claims, such as that he met Andrew Carnegie and that he was an attorney.
An interesting compilation of articles about and from Napoleon Hill. When I'm studying a book, I have the intention to pick few gold nuggets that have the potential to transform my life. From this, the greatest lesson I've carried is failure is a prerequisite for success. The journey towards success requires you to fail over and over again, it's really how you view them that makes the difference. Great inventors like Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla viewed them as stepping stones. So did great businessmen like Henry Ford and Andrew Carnegie. I hold the view that financial prosperity is not the ultimate success. You need the full package of health, wellness and positive relationships.
Gem of a book. Some of the materials are of course dated, but many of the concepts are still applicable today. It's refreshing to read a first hand account of many of the successful people in the past. Good reminder that hard work, being nice, and many of the forgotten habits / skills should be employed today.
The book was average as it wasnt clear explaining his (Napoleon) own experience rather than using many other successful people's experiences. I also did not like that there were mainly successful men that were presented in the book which in my opinion, showed a lack of equality. Of course there are some great points that were mentioned in the book but they were often too vague in description. Not every book is for everyone and this on was not for me.
One of the best books I've read in a while. This book is basically a collection of different writings both by and about Napoleon Hill. The last section of the book is a series of articles where Hill breaks success down into very digestible chunks for people to put into practice immediately.
If one wants to be successful, they need only read this book and put all of it's teachings into practice.
"Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit." If you can read this and honestly say you live that philosophy, you're either already successful or very soon will be.
Napoleon Hill explains the importance of having a positive attitude. Your attitude can either help a person fail or help a person succeed. It's up to them. Changing one's attitude takes some work, but it can be done. I love the skills Napoleon Hill reveals in his writing.
Wow this was actually better than reading Think and Grow Rich since it contains Mr.Hill’s writings throughout his lifetime. It’s more process and topic focused than Think and Grow Rich and was a great introduction to his ideas.
