An illustrated introduction to some of science's weirder facts describes such phenomena as raining frogs, edible insects, genius brains, acrobatic fleas, furless animals, and monster mushrooms. Original.
This book was very interesting.. I learned new things that I never even heard of. An excerpt from the book: "After his death in 1892, Poet Walt Whitman's brain was kept in a jar at the Wistar Institute at the University of Pennsylvania, which once housed more than 200 brains. But a number of years ago, a laboratory worker dropped Whitman's brain on the floor, and it had to be thrown away." Very interesting and creepy... I don't really recommend it unless you're a fan of "weird, but true" stuff.. Honestly half of it didn't sound true, but what do I know? xD
This book is described as a "cartoon encyclopedia of incredibly strange things". This book would be a big hit with older students (the vocabulary is a little older)! Everything in the book is true, making the students interested in these fun little facts that they can share with their friends.
