Poor...
This book was tedious to get through. It was not a entertaining concept and there wasn't much of any enjoyable descriptions of the country, was way too much talking about the murder. The dialogue and writing is just not appealing to me much anymore in this series.

Kendell and Pauline are on the move again. This time they are in Japan and ready for some sightseeing. Of course things don’t go smoothly for the women. When they ask directions to one of the sights, they are misunderstood and end up in an underground gambling hall.
Once Kendell realizes they are in the den of Japanese gangsters, she fears for their lives and wants to leave. However, Pauline wants to gamble. The older woman doesn’t see the harm, until an important leader of the gangsters winds up dead right next to her.
They try to leave, but the head gangster wants them to investigate the murder. Kendell and Pauline’s reputations as amateur sleuths precedes them and there’s no way the gangsters will be involving the police. So, it’s up to Kendell and Pauline to find out the truth or….else!
This is the 9th book in the Flight Risk series. I’ve read the first 8 and loved them. This was another good entry into the series. Although these are short books, the author puts together an involved story filled with twists, turns, and many suspects. She has a great way of keeping the reader guessing until the end.
There are currently 12 books in the series, and I plan to read them all. Next stop is Alaska…I so love armchair traveling.

Honestly Tailed In Tokyo is my least favorite book in Susan Harper's Flight Risk Cozy Mystery Series.
The story line seems out of place for a light hearted cozy mystery.
The heirachy of the Japanese syndicate - when mentioned in the story - was distracting. Additionally, I found the references to the violent nature of the syndicate contrary to the universal definition of the cozy genre.
With that said, the plot was well thought out and the whodunnit reveal quite a shock...meaning I didn't see it coming. However the plot seemed over the top for a cozy mystery leaving me feeling disappointed with the Tailed In Tokyo.

Bordering on the edge
I have to say this was getting close to ridiculous in the plot line folks! I cannot believe, even in my wildest fantasies, just walking into a gambling hall in Tokyo and experiencing this...better luck next time

The 9th book in the Flight Risk mystery series has Kendell and Pauline embroiled in having to solve a murder again, only this time will they make it out alive? Armed with a Japanese Translation book and a little lost in their looking for a tourist landmark asks a man on the street where they were and with a mistaken translation he leads Pauline and Kendell to a building where the Japanese mafia are gambling in a card game. Pauline, always ready for a new adventure decides to join them. Kendell in the meantime sits at the bar and talks to the wife of one of the major players in the mafia hierarchy who actually reads her blog and loves it, when the lights go out. Now the adventure begins as the woman's husband is found murdered when the lights come back on. With Kendell and Pauline's reputation of solving crimes precede them, they are told they have to find the murdered so he can be put to justice. At the same time, Kendell sees a man who seems to have been following them from their earlier adventures in Hawaii as well as their other adventures. Could he be the murderer and why is he following them. Could they be next? So many twists, but a fast read that you can finish in one sitting. I love this series and can't wait for their next adventure!

Another good story of the Adventures of Pauline and Kendell. Or maybe it should be called the Perils of Pauline. Pauline seems to attract trouble without even trying. In this story they visit Japan and find themselves hired to investigate a murder of a high ranking gang lord. Can you spell trouble? Kendell and Pauline can spell trouble and seem to always find themselves in the middle of all the turmoil. Wonder what Alaskan adventures await them in the next book.

Highly entertaining story about our two traveler's involvement with the Japanese mafia. While sight seeing, a murder is committed when visiting a gambling house. As always I loved this book. The latest tail has our hero's in Tokyo. A murder in the mist of their travels around Japan. Will they make it out alive? Of course they will. They are after all the hero's along with Dot, our favorie sidekick. If you haven't read this series before now, please start at the beginning to see how this friendship developed.

A giid mystery with humor.
Kendell and Pauline are in Japan for their travel blog. They get involved with a murder and the Yakuza. The Yakuza boss hires them to solve the murder. I love the descriptions of Japan and the humor. I love this series.

The best of the bunch. I really appreciated how it's mentioned that as travelers, the main characters should learn a bit about the country and culture before arriving so as not to offend or take advantage of people, places or things that they encounter. (Paraphrased) Really good advice.

Another adventure Kendall and Pauline as well as Dot got themselves into trouble. Definitely entertaining. I have to admit it was hard to keep track of the Japanese names...but well worth the reading. Onward to Alaska.

Oh gosh, that was intense! And a bit scary! I loved the whole cultural aspect and the insight into the darker side. I can’t wait to see what Pauline and Kendall get into next!

Not sure suspenseful but I did not like the history.
I was not interested in the gang history. Should have just stayed with the mystery part. Especially more about Dot.

Kind of hard to follow with the Japanese names. I have lived in Yokohama and was looking forward to the book. I love the henigans (sp?) but I did not feel the love this time.
