Relationship: Neil Josten/Andrew Minyard
--------------------------------------------------
He saw the duffel.
It was battered all to hell and the strap was nearly torn from the bag, but it still glowed almost neon in the darkening night and streetlamp glare. Neil would never…
He dropped to his knees beside it and rifled through it, looking for any sign, any clue as to where Neil might have run. Nothing, nothing, nothing. Until his fingers found the keyring. Until he found the phone.

Andrew's perspective on the Binghamton riot and the walking tragedy that is Neil Josten.

THE RIOT AND AFTERMATH FROM ANDREW'S PERSPECTIVE

From now on, I am recommending this as the first fanfic to read after finishing the series

I lack the words to describe how it made me feel.

"Baltimore Blues" is basically the riot + kidnapping + after match but from Andrew's perspective.
It's incredibly well written and SpangleBangle did an amazing job capturing Andrew's side of the story, his emotions, thoughts, actions. It all felt so canon. I got shivers!

We can feel the emotions portrayed as well as the train of thoughts in a way that makes it feel like it's us that are experiencing it first hand and not reading. I was so immerged in it that I barely saw the time passing.

If you're looking for Andrew's side of the story along with a bucket of emotions then this story is definitely for you!

I think I would have liked this even better if I had context for this fic since I can't get all the little nuances and references without having read the books, but even so this is a great character study relationship focused fic. There's hardly any dialogue which makes the internal narrative that much stronger, providing the emotions a fuller range of depth which the excellent writing serves to highlight. It's almost enough to make me want to read the books, which all truly great fanfiction inspires in new fandom readers.

eeeeek i love andrew and neil sm. I loved getting to see Andrew's perspective on this so much but it made me pissy that it wasn't written as I viewed his reactions in my head lmfaooo. Makes me want to write my own version with a finer detail to the little things I'm sure Andrew did when he had fear clawing at his heart. Also was so sad that it only took an hour to finish reading, i wanted moreeeee

Hope was a dangerous thing, he knew that very well. But he thought, perhaps, he liked it.

This was much needed Andriel dose.
Loved it.

lessons in cartography place holder

2nd book in lessons was extremely sad. neil loves the fox hole court sm and it was really hard to see him struggle so much with saying goodbye to everyone and and palmetto.

andrew pov will forever be a stab in the heart, his view of neil is my favourite thing in the world and the gentleness they give each other is real soulmateism, i'll never get sick of them

I listened to this one. It’s a solid start to an older series and that somehow I’ve never read even though it’s totally up my alley with a female PI protagonist. I’m not in a rush to continue reading, but I’ll get to the next book at some point.
