Ruby Dixon is an author of Science Fiction Romance. She likes fated mates, baby-filled epilogues, and cinnamon roll heroes. She also likes to write biographies of herself in the third person, because it feels more important that way.
Ruby also loves coffee and dirty books and will probably be a cat lady at some point. :)
How grumpy Drenol and young Lukti become friends. Drenol obviously will also become Lukti's mentor in wood carving. Very beautiful story that shows clearly the loneliness of elder people during Christmas holidays, when they have no family left.
A super sweet story between one of the kits and a lonely elder. If you are really invested in the barbarian world, don't miss out on this heartwarming story!
This was a lovey short story and it was interesting to see the point of view of and Elder! If you want to read this for yourself, just search ‘A Gift For Drenol by Ruby Dixon’ and you can download a free pdf⭐️
A cute story about a little boy, Lukti, making an unlikely friendship with a grouchy old man Drenol. Drenol has had a hard time at life and with all the adjustments in the tribe but he's happy to have the company.
A touch heart-achy & very heart warming 💙🩵💙🩵💙 Don’t actually remember reading much of Drenol… good thing Lukti has befriended him!! Super short, wish there was a few more paragraphs after Drenol agreed to show Lukti to carve.
❓Question: how exactly did Drenol get the basket(s), carvings, and tools out of/from the cave??
Grumpy-at-the-world elder Drenol might be set in his ways, but he’s no match for the sweet, caring and emotionally intelligent Lukti.
Being a bonafide series-junkie, I freakin’ heart-eyes adore it any time the next generation feature in any way, so these super-short slices in the IPB series that feature them turn me into a loved-up, goofy grin on my moosh, lump of happy.
This one will warm your heart. I like how Lukti was curious about Drenol and kept asking questions about him. It led to him making a great connection to a lonely old man.
This is such a sweet short read. I can't lie part of it sad but it's also such wonder thoughtful little read. And honesty any Barbarians books makes me happy.
Not a standalone - this won't make sense unless you've read the other books (maybe not all of them, but quite a few - it's supposed to come after the 17th book in the series).
This one wasn't a story about a couple; it was a short story about one of the elders of the tribe, Drenol. Drenol is grumpy - he's old, there's hordes of kids running around, and he misses his mate. But during the holidays (No Poison Day!), Lukti (Tiffany and Sulukh's son) decides he'll be Drenol feel less lonely.
This was a sweet story and gave us a different perspective of the tribe, from the point of view of an elder and a kit.
