Ich bin hin und weg!
Zuerst wusste ich nicht so ganz auf was ich mich da gleich einlassen werde. Das Cover ist zuckersüß mit den Pasteltönen und den zarten, leicht verspielten Zeichnungen. Doch der Titel…Miss Beelzebub? Hatte das nicht was mit dem Dämonen zu tun?
Um es gleich mal klarzustellen hier einmal der Klappentext:
Die Unterwelt wird von der schönen Beelzebub regiert. Doch die Hölle ist nicht so finster, wie man vielleicht denken würde, denn ihre Herrscherin hat eine Vorliebe für alles Niedliche und Flauschige. Und mit ihrer zerstreuten Art hält sie ihren armen, liebeskranken Diener Mullin ganz schön auf Trab … (Quelle: Verlag)
Ja, die Unterwelt ist schön und vieles, wirklich vieles ist ganz anders als man sich denkt, fast schon ganz normal. So auch die Arbeit der Herrscherin Beelzebub, die mit ihrer sehr verträumten Art oft an ihren Diener gerät. Wobei er sich öfters an ihr aufregt und es kommt zu einigen hinreißend witzigen Situation.
Einerseits wird hier das Höllenthema (Gefallener Engel, Hölle etc.) total in die andere Richtung gezogen, was zu einigen “Schmunzel-Momenten” führt, andererseits bringt Miss Beelzebubs Art (und die Reaktion des Dieners Mullin darauf) einige Lacher mit sich – ja, der Manga gehört zum Genre COMEDY und nicht (allein) Romance.
Wobei Romance mitunter auch einen Platz gefunden hat, doch auch das wird eher ins lustige gezogen zum größten Teil.
Mit viel Charme seitens der Charaktere und herzerwärmenden lustigen Szenen hat der Manga mich um die Finger gewickelt und ich bin hin und weg von den beiden! Doch es bleibt nicht nur bei den Miss Beelzebub und ihrem Kammerdiener Mullin und ihrem Alltagstrott…es gesellen sich recht schnell einige weitere Gefährten (Dämonen) dazu und bringen das alltägliche Leben der viel beschäftigen Herrin der Unterwelt auf Trab!
Naja, sie bringen eher Mullin auf Trab, denn er rennt mit dem Terminplan und allem ihr hinterher, während sie auf der Suche ist nach den flauschigsten Dingen….
Die Zeichnungen sind verspielt, süß und es gibt einen ganz leichten Ecchi-Faktor, der ist aber sehr niedrig gehalten, auch wenn der Humor sich manchmal darauf bezieht. Daher kann ich es verstehen, warum der Verlag eine Altersempfehlung von 15+ der Reihe gegeben hat, noch jüngere würden den Humor teilweise nicht ganz nachvollziehen können.
Der Manga hat um die 148 Seiten und das sieht auf den ersten Blick nach wenig aus, es ist auch ein schmaler Band, aber er ist gefüllt mit vielen kleineren Comedyszenen und liest sich eher langsam (zumindest ich habe ihn nicht so schnell lesen können), auch gibt es im ersten Band ein Stickerblatt mit Miss Beelzebub und ihren flauschigen Freunden.
Es macht viel Spaß über die arbeitenden Dämonen zu lesen, die in keinster Weise grausig sind und ihren witzigen Alltag! Der Manga bittet nicht nur die passende Comedy für einen entspannten Nachmittag, sondern steigert sich auch immer wieder durch neue Charaktere und ihren Eigenheiten! Auch etwas Romance findet zum Ende hin mehr seinen Platz in der Geschichte.

Mir gefiel schon „Das Herz einer Hexe“ von Matoba nicht und auch dieser Manga hier ist einfach nicht meins. Ich wünschte wirklich es wäre anders, weil mir der Zeichenstil so sehr gefällt und ich die Bände daher sehr gern im Regal gehabt hätte.
Leider finde ich die Story oder besser gesagt die kleinen Episoden ohne richtige roten Faden einfach sehr langweilig. Das ganze lebt vom Humor, der sowohl in Bild als auch in Text herübergebracht wird. Allerdings liegt dieser mir nicht und ich kann weder darüber lachen, noch schmunzeln oder fühle mich gut unterhalten.
Was mir diese Geschichte um die völlig verrückten, extravaganten Dämonenfürsten sagen soll, verstehe ich nicht. Ich kann hier nicht einmal eine Zusammenfassung geben. Die Charaktere haben überhaupt keine Tiefe und ich bekomme einfach keinen Verbindung zu ihnen.
Der Zeichenstil dagegen ist voll mein Ding. Ich liebe diese niedlichen Gesichter, die flauschigen Bälle, die Abwechslung in den Panels und die Hintergründe.
Ich werde die Reihe nicht weiterlesen.

I would describe this series as a slice of life office romance, but the office is in hell (though hell looks beautiful in this). It's episodic, fluffy and pretty funny.
I absolutely love Beelzebub and Mullin.
This would have been 4 stars fully if it wasn't for the side character who always feels like they're going to pee themselves?! Wtf, I could do without that. She wasn't there for long, but I'm sure she's reoccurring.

It was alright. I’m pretty sure I’m not the target audience though.
I felt like the explanatory notes by the author at the end put it more in context for me since he states he wanted to make it based off an 18th century set love story and that this meant to be slice of life fluff more than actually about demons.
I didn’t mind that - I actually enjoy the slice of life fluff. When Beel checks in on sick Mullin it was actually really sweet. I’m not a fan of over-the-top boob jokes and depictions, especially since a couple of the women portrayed in that way look so young (even if they’re demons). That’s how I know this wasn’t made for me. The constant calling of attention to nudity, private parts… it wasn’t about story.
I am interested in seeing where the characters and their relationships go, but it’s clear it’s much more about depicting overtly sexual female characters (the weird panel about Astaroth saying he wishes he was a girl if he had to be tied up because girls look better tied up was… odd and made me super uncomfortable) and I am not interested in that.

This has got to be my favourite manga/ anime. Even after reading Sailor Moon. The characters are beautifully designed the world is set amazingly. There are those things that you just wish you could do again for the first time again- this is mine. I cant even decide on a favourite character (probably a first for me) as I love them all and I recommend this series to anyone, even if you’re not an avid manga reader.

The cover is cute just like the inside!!
I actually own both a physical copy of the first volume and an eBook version of it. The cover was just so cute that I bought it before even reading it and I do that a lot when I’m not working solely from home. However, I would recommend the eBook over the physical copy if you’re interested in the color spreads and extra colored posters.
The story is about Mullin who lands his dream job of an attendant to Satan’s right hand – Beelzebub in Pandemonium. Beelzebub an archdemon, is a former seraph who oversees the work in Satan’s place. However as Mullin soon discovers, Beelzebub is somewhat of an airhead and would rather relax and play with soft and fluffy items than work. Thus begins their journey as they go through each day with Mullin enforcing work and Beelzebub working yet finding room to play with soft and fluffy things.
The manga is told in 4-Koma style. Each page consists of a gag comic strip using four panels of equal size and read from top to bottom. Each page also has a subheading relevant to the idea or theme of the strip and is short yet continuous in the overall story of the manga. I enjoyed this style since it was simple, to the point and each page made me laugh or smile.
The art style is really cute. Some panels are highly detailed whereas others are simple to focus on a specific element or imagery. The font also changes in between to reflect a change in the character’s voicing. The character designs are unique and cute with each being detailed. They also seem to have their own set of facial expressions and personalities.
In volume 1, we meet a fair bit of new characters and are introduced to the main characters as well. It can be said that Mullin is a tsundere and although he can seem harsh at times, he is really caring and is easily embarrassed. You’ll find a lot of scenes throughout this volume with Mullin blushing and it’s not a hidden fact that he has feelings for Beelzebub. Alternatively, Beelzebub is supposedly strong and can take care of herself but that’s not what we’re shown. She has feelings for Mullin and is caring, competent and quiet. There are many more characters introduced such as Belphegor (or Gocchin), Azazel, Sargatanas and Astaroth who are all too cute and kind for demons.
Overall, I enjoyed this manga. It’s cute, fluffy and comedic. A fair warning though that there is a fair bit of skin showing or almost nude scenes (in the beginning mainly) so read with caution. I am interested to see how Mullin’s relationship with Beelzebub grows and develops especially since they already have feelings for each other in the first volume. This seems to be a fast-paced story and Mullin’s expressive views makes it all the more entertaining to read!

Der Zeichenstil gefällt mir sehr gut. Die Charaktere sind sehr kreativ und detailreich gestaltet.
Erzählstil, sowie Tempo sind angenehm. Auch, wenn dieser ziemlich episodisch ist. Was ich allerdings cool finde ist der Seitenaufbau und die Randkommentare. Das ist jedenfalls mal etwas anderes.
Protagonisten
Beelzebub ist die Exzellenz und verantwortlich für's Dämonenreich. Doch anders als man erwartet, ist sie niedlich und liebt Flauschiges. Abgesehen von ihrer Arbeit, die sie perfekt ausführt, ist sie eher verpeilt.
Mullin ist Beelzebubs Diener und kann nur schwer verarbeiten, dass seine Vorstellung und die Realität von eurer Exzellenz stark voneinander abweichen. Er ist sehr aufmerksam und gewissenhaft. Dennoch wünscht er sich ein "richtiger Kerl" zu sein.

Ich glaube die Mangaka schätzt ihr Werk ziemlich gut ein, denn 'Wie es Miss Beelzebub gefällt' soll Entspannungslektüre während des Nachmittagssnacks sein und das trifft es perfekt.
Inhaltlich passiert leider noch recht wenig. Vielmehr wird man mit den Charakteren vertraut, die teilweise absolut verdrehten Klischees entsprechen. Auf ihre Art und Weise sind sie dennoch alle liebenswert. Oft vergisst man fast, dass sich die Geschichte in der Unterwelt abspielt.
Zukünftig würde ich mir ein paar mehr Zusammenhänge und Verstrickungen wünschen. Sodass trotz der Leichtigkeit noch etwas Spannung hinzukommt.

The cover pulled me in. I'm a fan of fluffy romance and stories about demons, but the ratio in As Miss Beelzebub Likes felt off so it just didn't click for me.
I wish it leaned more into the demon/Hell part of the concept to make the comedy more unique, to make the characters less shallow, or to color in the world where they live. The setup for this series sounds fun but it was kind of wasted.
Maybe the second volume helps bridge the characters' backstories to the present or does something really cool with the goofy, paradoxical premise. But with one of the main advertised 'reasons to keep reading' being the introduction of a character who loves young boys... I'm gonna pass.

while at first glance (at, you know, her TITTIES) you might think this is yet another ecchi...
but truth be told, there's very little ecchi in this and very much of a romcom + slice of life + LOTS of fluff. this is pretty much my kind of stuff lol
the art is gorgeous too. honestly, i feel like this caters more towards female readers than male readers, but there's some parts that the guys might like too!

at this point i won't be able to individually explain the star rankings for each volume but just know that i spent the rest of xmas eve before i fell asleep reading volumes 1-7 and the fluffies obviously got to me because like i said i did fall asleep. beel just wants to get work out of the way so she can fall asleep and hang out with her fluffies and secretary/bestie/crush and honestly i respect that

As Miss Beelzebub Likes is like a lighthearted and flavorful tea snack on a weekday but in manga format. I enjoyed being able to easily pick it up and feel that sensation similar to a refreshing tea snack as I read through the pages at my own pace. The characters, world, art style, pacing, jokes, and storytelling is something I find so pleasant and satisfying. I’m so glad the mangaka created and shared this work of theirs.

While this was a cute read, it's not a cohesive story. It reads more as a bunch of slapstick comedy and one liners thrown together which was funny but not what I expected from this manga. There seems to be a plot developing in the background, but it's not the main theme of the story like I'd hoped.

I wasn’t sure what to expect going into this manga but I actually ended up really enjoying it! It’s so funny, I actually laughed out loud several times. The characters are also just so weird and cute, I loved them. So far a fun little slice of life manga. I’m looking forward to the next volume!

Fabulous and funny, Beezlebub is not what you think she is and her new assistant is having to reconcile his idea of her with the actual person.

Unmemorable, but a cute premise. The simping amongst characters is a bit cringey. I would continue reading solely for the fact that sometimes a lame romance manga is a gentle form of escapism. 😌

Ein süßer und sehr witziger Manga, der allerdings weniger eine durchgehende Story verfolgt, sondern (zumindest in Band eins) eher episodenhaft kleine Alltagsgeschichten erzählt.
