Ich wollte den Manga wirklich sehr, sehr gern mögen, da ich die Aufmachung des Covers so wunderschön finde. Dieser Fotodruck und allgemein die Zeichnung darauf treffen einfach voll meinen Nerv. Auch der Miniprint, der dem Manga beiliegt, ist einfach nur toll. Leider war die Story gar nichts für mich. An sich war die Idee mit dem Labor und den Experimenten mit Menschenteilen echt gut, aber die Umsetzung war es für mich nicht. Hier hängt wirklich viel davon ab, ob man den Humor mag. Leider lag der so gar nicht auf meiner Wellenlänge. Alles soll hier witzig sein und es kam für mich weder Spannung noch Stimmung auf. Auch die Charaktere waren nichtssagend und uninteressant für mich.
Der Zeichenstil dagegen hat mir sehr gefallen. Die Protagonisten konnte man sehr gut auseinanderzuhalten und ich mochte die Art wie sie gezeichnet waren. Außerdem war alles sehr abwechslungsreich und kontrastreich.
Der Band wird aufgrund seines Covers in meinem Regal bleiben, aber ich werde mir keine Folgebände mehr holen.

Ich fand's unterhaltsam - kann aber auch verstehen, warum es viele nicht mögen.
Wenn man eine sinnvolle oder tiefsinnige Story sucht, dann ist man mit anderen Geschichten wohl besser beraten.
Aber wer sich einfach vom Zusammenspiel der verschiedenen Charaktere (jeder auf seine Art und Weise ziemlich eigenartig) unterhalten lassen möchte ohne zu angestrengt nach einem roten Faden zu suchen, der kann "King in a Lab Coat" gerne ausprobieren und dann entscheiden, ob es den eigenen Geschmack trifft oder einem doch zu strange ist.

Genial! Die Charaktere sind der Hammer und einem auf Anhieb sympathisch. Die Story ist spannend, morbide, aber auch mit viel Witz und schwarzem Humor. Bin schon gespannt, wie es weitergeht mit Shiva und Co.

Sadly, another title that started strong but failed in the end.
It was a nice idea to make them look as if they are covered in blood, just to reveal its something else (fluid from broken pipes, tomato juice... ok the last one probably is bleeding from a head wound). And I did wonder who is creepier here, the scientists or the mass murderer. Also, apparently the main guy is Italian, the others Japanese, English (of course) and Egyptian... at least it would fit as the latter three are referred to as Samurai, Tea and Pyramide and the main guy says he is from the land of Pasta and the beautiful sea. And the main guy's weird behavior is explained by stating that he knew about the serial killer.
However, that killer is a “humanoid” and not the only one. The next one here comes across rather like some dark comedy than anything mystery or horror or anything. And I really don't get the humor. If it is humor that is. I mean I assume.
And sentences like "Die miserably. Without your dreams and hopes ever coming true." Yeah... this and other sentences like this here, that no villain like this would care about, make it clear to me what sort of stories these are, some sort of commentary and all, and if that, together with the humor is your thing, fine, but it is nothing for me."
And if the girl is a robot whose skin is so hard that bullets ricochet off her, how did the mouse humanoid manage to decapitate her? These humanoids don't have superhuman strength. And another humanoid is a cat and teacher of the English guy (albeit his name is Adam Luiville) this time? How many of them run around in this fictional town?
This did not manage to catch my interest.
