Fans of the McIntyre Security Bodyguard Series will love this new novella featuring Beth and Shane, as well as other favorites, including Luke, Sam, Cooper, Erin and Mack. This suspenseful Christmas novella will best be enjoyed as part of the series.
I write about alpha protectors who fall in love hard and unconditionally, through the good and the bad. My characters are strong, sexy, and slightly damaged... because no one is perfect. All of my novels have happy-ever-after endings. What else would you expect from a die-hard romantic? I'm the author of the McIntyre Security Bodyguard Series of contemporary romance novels.
I live in Ohio with my daughter and more than a few dogs and cats. When I'm not writing, I'm reading romance novels and watching movies with happy endings. I'd love to hear from you! You can e-mail me at aprilwilsonwrites@outlook.com. Or, visit my website: aprilwilsonauthor.com.
If you really like Shane and Beth, then this is a treat for you. This Christmas novella set during a 24-hr blizzard is the story of what happens when a blizzard hits and Shane and Beth are stranded apart with Beth stuck in her bookshop with the potential of looting. There’s a bit of set up for the next book and some minimization of Erin’s character as someone who being an adult is unable to make her own decisions being 22 and virginal. There are also continuity issues with Erin still being 22 because if two years have passed for example in other people’s relationships, then surely Erin must be getting older. That said, still enjoying this family.
I used to always skip novellas whenever an author would publish one. However, April has created such a strong cast of characters that I find myself devouring every word she writes that adds to the McIntyre universe.
Like Merry Me, this novella moves the story line forward in a gentle, organic manner.
Once again, Ms. Wilson has left me counting down the days until I can get my next McIntyre fix.
I've read hundreds of book series but this particular one takes too prize as my favorite.
This is the first time I'm writing a review for the series rather than just giving a Star award, because I like the series it has so much to offer and don't want my reviews to be negative.
These books have a lot of potential and good characters, yes you have to suspend belief and let go to enjoy them. But they could be so much better with a good editor or some good beta readers. A lot of fans can ignore plot holes and inconsistencies, I can but I can't justify five stars for it
In one book there's nothing on the roof of their apartment block, so they build a garden great. In the next book there's a swimming pool on the roof. In one scene they can be texting and In the next chapter they're exchanging numbers despite they've been texting and so on...
This book for me was pushing the inconsistencies a bit too much. There is also too much going over old ground with who people are and what their relationship is etc. This is technically book 10, these last two novellas detracted from the series rather than added to it. Not to mention Shane giving Mack a hard time is unrealistic when looking at him and Beth and Sam and Cooper, it puts me right off him and his "nice guy" character.
I would love to see the author go back through the series and correct the mistakes and flesh out the story or characters from books three onwards rather than going back over old ground recounting previous books as the series is potentially a five star read.
I, of course, love the close friends /family attitude of we are one. Therefore, if you need help just say it, and we will be there for you. Almost like, the Postoffice used to say, through rain, sleet, or snow. It's Christmas Eve, and Beth, Luke, Sam, Erin, and, Mack are all trapped due to a category three snowstorm. There is restricted driving and loss of power downtown. With limited security, they were having to worry about looters. Because the power went out before anyone could make deposits.
Most stores had a lot of cash on hand. They also had merchandise on the floor they normally wouldn’t have, because the category of snow levels was hitting fast. People were trying to leave before they were trapped. Now, I have to say, Shane is starting to piss me off with his butting into, Mack and, Erin’s budding infatuation with one another. For him to threaten, Mack with reassignment is just wrong. Beth’s mom at the end was acting weird???
Beth is working at the bookstore and a snow storm hits. It turns out it is worst than expected and they become stranded at work with other security members. Circumstances arise and there is a security threat. Her knight in shining armor comes to save the day and show how much he loves her. It all turns out in the end and as always it’s a HEA.
Seriously one of the sweetest and most romantic love stories (even though it has taken a lot of time to get there). He’s an alpha and always is out to protect her. I love how all the other characters and couples get in on this story as well and you get updates. Such an intriguing and heart warming story!!!
Start with the beginning of this series and learn more about each couple you see in this book. You won’t regret it!!! ❤️❤️
Beth is at the bookstore with Luke and a blizzard is happening outside. Shane wants her to head home. Just as her driver gets there, one of her employees goes into labor so she sends him to take her to the hospital. Beth is freaking out. There are looters out breaking into stores and vehicles. Sam and Mack send her, the baby, and Erin to the panic room. Just as the looters are trying to break in, 4 masked men show up. Shane is beside himself knowing that his family is stuck at the bookstore. He has to get to them. This means walking because there is no traveling allowed. Once they get there, he is so angry with what he sees. They take care of that situation quickly. This is all happening Christmas Eve, will they all make it back for Christmas?
Love this book. Love the fifth installment of Shane and Beth’s romance story. This book is a short story. It’s Christmas time in Chicago. During Christmas Eve, Chicago gets a huge snowstorm. Shane and Cooper want Beth, Same, and Luke home. So, Beth’s driver comes to pick them up. During that time, one of Beth’s employees goes into labor so Beth has her driver drive to the hospital instead of taking Beth, Luke, and Sam home. Beth, Sam, and Lucas along with some of the bodyguards and Beth’s friend, Erin end up stranded at the bookstore, Clancy’s. Shane, Cooper, and some of Shane’s employees start hitchhiking to Clancy’s so Shane and Cooper can be with their significant others. Love this addition to Beth and Shane’s romance story. Worth the read
A good holiday novella with the McIntyre clan and their friends/family/team. A whiteout occurs on Christmas Eve and potential danger occurs in the form of looters at the book store, but Mack and Sam hold the fort with some timely help by a perfect timed arrival of friends/family and team. A few sweet moments and poignant moments aka Mack and Erin get us to Christmas and a safe return to everyone’s home. We get to see the whole family together and get some fun updates from a few couples, potentially a problem from a couple and a possible new couple?!? I also am wondering who and if Tyler gets a story and HEA or if he will be always stoic. Either way it’s an enjoyable read and full of great details to add to this family and world.
Snowbound is another one of April's stories that leaves you feeling like you want to know these people personally. The little snippets into all the other couples makes me so happy. I love the dynamic between Shane and Beth, but also Cooper and Sam, though they are completely different. The only problem I have with all of these books is that I never know where to go once I've finished. I cant start reading another series right away because I find myself wanting to reread the previous books. Well done Ms. April.
I just love this series. This was another great one. There is a snow storm in Chicago. Beth and Luke are stuck at the bookstore. Sam and Mack are there to protect them. But, there are looters outside waiting to take advantage. This book was a nice slice of the lives of Shane, Beth & Luke. We got to see Sam and Cooper (a must) with a little foreshadowing for Mack and Erin. There was also a little something with Beth's mom and her driver that I hope will be developed by the author over time.
Lots of excitement. Love how everyone bands together. One thing I don’t like is how Shane is to Mack about Erin. It’s BS. Especially since he is 11 years older than Beth. Mack is 13 years older. He is being a hypocrite. And threatening Mack like that. I didn’t like. But I guess we will see. He seemed to come around after Beth had talked to him and told him that. Love the big family ending. Yay for Annie and Jake!! Hopefully Jamie and molly are next! I hope Ingrid gets a HEA. and Tyler too!!
On Christmas Eve Beth goes into work against Shane’s wishes and they have a snowstorm. For some bizarre reason Beth has a massive panic attack because it’s snowing heavily! Good grief! Shane is sending urgent messages for her to go home. So on the busiest day of the year he wants the manager of bookstore to go home and leave her staff, again!!! I feel really sorry for the staff there as the manager (Beth) is never there!!! This book is set over Christmas, which is really nice and ends on a positive note. That’s pretty much all I can say!
It’s Christmas Eve and an unexpected snowstorm leaves Beth and her son trapped at her bookstore. Chicago shuts down and everything comes to a halt. Nothing will keep Shane from his family, not even a snowstorm that shuts down a city.
I love this group so much. With each story, I’m reminded just how much. Getting to re-visit with all the McIntyres is a great Christmas gift! Enjoy this perfect holiday read that reminds us about what’s most important...being with the people that you love.
Loved this short story. To have someone who cares so much that they would do anything to make sure you are safe regardless of the situation or conditions is love we all wish to have. This has made me exited for Mack & Erin's story, also Tylers, he has to find love. The surprise was Ingrid, there is a love story just awaiting for her and Joe, at least I hope so.
Amazing April Wilson, blown out of the park again.
Another 5 Stars for another great read from April Wilson. This novella kept me caught up in the story until I realised I was 70% through, I did not want this to end, so severe measures had to be taken ........ I cleaned the kitchen ready for Christmas Day tomorrow ( well later today really!) Still have to wrap presents though ! Really enjoyable. Thank you April xx
As I read each new book April Wilson writes in the McIntyre Series I feel as if I've come home to the family. April's writing is so crystal clear I know I'm in the room with this family. Hardest part of reading this book is knowing it will end and I will have to wait for the next installment!
Catching up with the McIntyre clan is always special. This winter Christmas special was wonderful, Just can’t get enough of these books. You can see new stories in the making developing in this one. Looking forward to Mack and Erin’s book and possibly Ingrid and Joe too 🤔
I remember being in a blizzard. Snow so thick you can't see three feet in front of you....and here we have a lovely Chicago blizzard and we get to share their experience! Ms Wilson again has us travel with them in our heads, although we feel we are physically there, and enjoy this new adventure. Thanks for another great read!
Shane and Beth are back with a short and sweet little adventure while she and some favorites are stuck at work for a bit. With some suspense and lots of love!!! I didn't want it to end!! Eagerly anticipating the next book to come out. April Wilson is one author that i will buy all her books when they come out.
Great novella! Heartwarming on a cold winter day! I can't wait for Mack and Erin's book!
I'm not sure how she does it. Seriously, April Wilson has a way of sucking you in to her stories with the characters. When she introduces new characters they immediately become someone you want to learn more about.
I am a huge fan of this series, and am constantly anticipating the release of the next book. So the surprise release of this Christmas novella was an excellent Christmas present. I also love the fact that April always takes the time to interact and respond to fans on social media. Keep up the great work April!
This novella reconfirmed why everyone has fallen in love with Shane & Beth McIntyre and the whole McIntyre Security family. Even mother nature is no match for Shane when Beth gets stranded in a blizzard wiith Luke at her bookstore. Love love love it. Roll on March for Mack & Erin!!!!!
I loved this story. Simply put, it gives a glimpse into the continuation of Shane and Beth's epic romance. I love the reader's about other characters in the McIntyre realm, both those who do have their own stories, and those whose stories are coming. Hooray for April!! This is just great storytelling!
Another novella that to me could be a chapter or two in a novel. This story revolves around Beth and Shane with all the other loved characters appearing. This convinces me that I am not a fan of novellas hence the 3 Stars, however that is just my opinion read it for yourself and make up your own mind.
A huge snowstorm traps Beth and baby Luke in the book store with Erin, Mac, Sam and the security guys. Shane is not happy when Beth has her driver take one of her employees to the hospital because her labor started, he understands, but not happy. Then, the power goes out. What else can go wrong?
Beth and Shane. Beth is at her bookstore, Clancy and Shane is at his office. It is Christmas Eve. It is snowing outside. Blizzard conditions. Looters, action, power outage, drama, suspense and so much more.
I love the characters, the McIntyre family and friends. The plot and storyline are great too. I love❤ this series.
