Picked this up for the stories I had not heard before. The stories are perfect for kids and the short histories of at the beginning of each story are great.
Most of the stories were delightful to read, however most endings seemed somewhat rushed/incomplete or sad/depressing, contrary to the blurb, where ‘there will always be a happy ending.’
It's really good, I just don't like how some of the stories were changed. I understand that the book is for a younger audience so were made much less gory, but I have an appreciation for the original stories and the gore in them. Completely understand the changes and they don't alter the stories by not having them other than in Cinderella. In Cinderella she forgives the stepmother and sisters rather than them dying/going blind, and her father is just not around rather than dead like in the original.
