"And there it was. In his wet hands, a tiny human child. "

I really really like the Alex Rider and the Jason Steed series, but Jason Steed seems to take it to another level. Yes Jason, just like Alex Rider is teen spy, and works for a spy organisation, but Jason is more 'Life-Like'. He cries, he laughs and he gets embarrassed like any boy his age. (He is now 14)
This time as well as an epic mission, Jason's Stepmother is about to give birth, stuck in the car in a snow filled lane in Scotland with just her 14 yr old stepson to help. It was written well, a few days later you can feel his embarrassment when she is feeding the baby.
How is this written in a teen-spy novel? That is what separates Jason Steed from Alex Rider. We have become used to the emotion from in this series, it started in book 1. Fledgling, but book 6 Nautilus, came packed from cover to cover with a roller coaster ride, of laughter, tears and action.
Nautilus carried two action stories, his grandparents cottage in Scotland and a greedy land owner, and of course the book cover explains the second story. NAUTILUS!
Scott (The nerdy friend) had a major role in Nautilus, it worked well, both boys have grown from 10 year olds into on point teenagers.

4.5 Stars.
Book 6. Jason Steed series.
Title; Nautilus
Another great story and like all the Jason Steed novel, it had two stories in one or two adventures. Scott had his biggest role in the series yet and now both boys are 14 (my age) they are still best friends and go to school together.
The Nautilus is wicked, I hope Jason uses it on another mission. The story also took a turn on the environmental issues with Fox hunting and Factory fishing in China. I liked that it added this to the story and what Jason did to the fish factory and fox hunters.
The giant squid was good and not too far fetched it fitted with the location.
Probably the most family oriented Jason Steed novel, it was perfect for a Christmas present.
Recommend you read the series from book 1.
