The locket that James got for his crush was supposed to be a present - but after opening it he accidentally unleashed a pair of ancient gods, reigniting a battle that has been centuries in the making.
Now he's taken on their powers, and the only way to stop a terrible evil from laying waste to humanity is to team up with an ancient consortium of goddesses who have two things on their mind; stopping evil and satisfying James.
Luckily for James, he's got time for both.
Warning: This story involves violence, monsters, an enchanted axe, two goddesses that the main character gladly satisfies, cross-dimensional travel, roof-jumping, embarrassment, library shelves toppling like dominos, and security guards generally having a bad time.
'Joe Everyman' gets jilted by his college crush, unleashes two ancient gods who hate each-other, puts on 20 pounds of muscle overnight, gains a dong that horses would be proud of and starts collecting and bedding beautiful 'goddesses'.
This is about as cookie cutter as Male Power Fantasy can get and has about all the plot-strength of your typical porno flick.... a goddess who was around during the late 1930s who doesn't know what a CAR is being just one of the many complaints I have about this book's plot!
Even the sex scenes are so generic and samey that they lose points, which for harem erotica is really damn poor! The only reason I got as far as I did in this book was that I had no internet access during a thunderstorm! This one's going in my top five worst books of all time...
Peter Parker gets bitten by a radioactive locket just after he catches Mary Jane making out with... someone (we all know how Mary Jane is). Next thing he knows, he got locket powers of super-abs and stuff, and he is super hot (literally). So far, so standard. Then comes a manipulative bitch (which he recognizes as so), and manipulates him, and he lets her, because reasons. Then, she enslaves herself to him, also because reasons.
The rest of the book is about the MC being swept around by the plot and everyone in it, until he gets almost fucked to death, by which time I was skimming ahead bored. The sex scenes are some of the most boring stuff I've read, and they came at the most inopportune of times, which completely detracted them of their sexiness.
While not a deep read, this book was a very fun book to read. I enjoyed it simply because I like easy stories that don’t require an advanced degree to understand. I spent 41 years reading the heavy stuff (I have a Masters Degree) and now I read for pleasure. Looking for a fun book? This just might the one.
Characters need to be given more depth in order to improve the quality of the story. So far they are severely two dimensional as people or gods/goddesses or whatever.
I really enjoyed reading this book, it was very well written. It’s a very interesting world within its pages. I look forward to the next book. I recommend reading this book.
