For teenagers Chris and Miles, working at the city zoo in the summer is a pretty sweet gig. They chase girls, smoke a little dope, and avoid thinking about their rapidly approaching futures. One is headed to college, and one to… who knows? But then the Zombie Apocalypse hits, and things get weird.
Deadly animals, psychotic house painters, and a face-humping lemur named Sexy Rexy all get thrown into the mix, with plenty of laughs and chills to go around. To top it all off, there’s something way more dangerous than zombies lurking in the shadows.
Dead Drunk 2.5 can be read as a humorous standalone novel, or after book two of the best-selling Horror-Comedy series, Dead Drunk: Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse... One Beer at a Time.
Richard Johnson is a writer and small business owner who grew up in Galesburg, Illinois during the 80's. He graduated from Monmouth College as a double major in History and English and earned a Masters degree in History with a teaching certificate from Western Illinois University. He currently lives with his growing family in a small town outside of Chicago.
Richard is a self-acclaimed expert in the zombie genre after spending countless hours watching B-rated horror movies. He is a good friend, a bad cook and a terrible dancer. If a real zombie apocalypse strikes, seek him out for protection. But bring plenty of beer.
Another hilarious zombie fest. I absolutely loved this and had a hard time putting it down! Richard has a way of getting you so invested in all the main characters, I’m rooting them on while hoping nothing happens to one of them on the next page and when it does it feels like a loss to me too... I can’t wait to see what happens next!!
My favorite zombie genre author. Actually, I'm really not even all that into zombie genre all that much anymore, but Richard Johnson is the KING of douchebag anti-heroes you just have to root for. And OMG... SEXY REXY! That horny little lemur was freaking HILARIOUS!
I hope there are many more books to come in this series.
What can I say about a zombie outbreak at a zoo with a couple of teenage potheads ? There was humor, and blood and lions and tigers and bears, oh my. A fun, quick read.
I loved this book , I couldn’t put it down . I loved the characters, the plot of the books . Kept me on the edge of my seat .I had great laughs, and also it kept me in suspense. I recommend this book .
Loved every minute of this book and the two previous books. Great story, hilarious, emotional roller coaster, unique characters, and read them all too fast!
I admit that this book is a short story, and I do not usually give 5 stars to them. This short is one in 4 of the Dead Drunk series, and ties in well with book's 1 & 2. I also know Lincoln Park Zoo very well. It is the only Zoo in the city of Chicago. Richard Johnson doesn't mention it by name, must be something to do with right's. A good fun read. Zombie action that'll have you saying eww or puhlease.
