1. Angela Peach 2. All proceeds go to charity.

The obvious. I won't even pretend that I didn't buy this anthology because of Angela Peach's writing. It's embarrassing what a fan girl I've become.

The collection. Full disclosure: I did skip and skim a few stories but the majority of them are really entertaining little lesfic nuggets.

The special. As with all anthologies you're bound to find some stories you'll love.

The negative. I really wish some of these stories had full length versions available. And no I don't mean AP's contribution. Her story was the perfect length.

The verdict. Anthologies are a great way to get introduced to previously unknown authors. This particular one gets a 3,5* rating.

In this anthology you’ll find a wide range of short stories written by renown British authors of sapphic fiction. I enjoyed the different short stories immensely, and loved that there is so much variety in them, ranging from hilariously funny to romantic, more or less juicy, hopeful, sad, and more. The stories are very well-written and, last not least, all proceeds from this anthology will be given to the RUComingOut charity. 5 out of 5 stars

L is For is an outstanding anthology; I didn't skip a single selection which almost never happens when I read a short story collection.

I discovered authors "new" to me and would highly recommend Angela Peach, Karen Campbell and Andrea Bramshall. (Kiki Archer is already a favorite and her contribution is very funny.) This collection is definitely a must!

There's lots of lovely writing and the distinct British feel it has both warms my heart and tickles my funny bones, depending on the title. Every story is a keeper, but I do have some absolute favorites:

"Alana Molton-Croft And Me" by Kiki Archer is rip-roaring funny, clever and a delight to read! :)

"Looking For Princess Charming" by Deborah Underwood: It's a very true to life look at what many singles know can be a horrid dating scene, with a lovely ending.

"Cloud Hearts" by Angela Peach: This is one of the sweetest stories I've ever read, anywhere. I teared up a few times.

"Feels Like Home" by Sarah Bolger is aptly titled and adorably sweet, especially as the two main characters discover what's been right under their noses the whole time.

"The Butterfly Collector" by Karen Campbell is touching and sad, yet ultimately uplifting.

"Just The Way You Are" by Andrea Bramhall: After reading this, I definitely want to check out more fiction by this writer. It has a slow build which is always nice in romantic fiction.

I could go on and on about L Is For, but I won't. Instead, I'll just add this: buy yourself a copy right away and start reading! :) Proceeds go to charity!

Short stories are great for when you want to enjoy dipping into a book, but don't want to wind up reading until 4am. This anthology by Kiki Archer is perfect for that. There is a wide range of lesbian short stories here, and you never know what genre you're going to get when you dip into each adventure. The work is tightly edited and I enjoyed all of them, and some were just lovely to read. It is brilliant when a short story sings the tune you are itching to hear, and there are gems in here that do this.

A great mixed bag of short stories, from ghosts to erotica, humor to romance.

Contributed by UK lesfic writers the profits are being donated to the charity R U Coming Outl At just over $6 (£4) this is an excellent Christmas present and a great way to support a worthwhile LGBT cause.

The British education system
Every word you say about the UK education system is abundant. The UK education system is one of the most important in the world. Many countries in the world have adopted the British school system with minor changes. Some of the UK universities are known around the world for their outstanding quality, with some particularly beating the global rankings.

Britons start their education at a very young age, usually around three years of age. At least they have to complete secondary school (compulsory school). The UK education system has a total of five levels: early years (school enrollment), elementary school years, secondary education, continuing education (FE) and higher education (HE). With its world class universities, advanced programs and teaching, the UK education system is a magnet for international students. They share a significant part of the UK student population. UK universities host more than a million foreign students. These numbers make the country the second most popular place to study after the USA.

British weather
One of the most famous characteristics of Britain is its climate; it rarely freezes under in the winter months (January and February are coldest) and in the summer months it rarely exceeds 32 ° C (90 ° F). As it covers a larger area, the climate is a bit diverse, but overall, each country has a unique climate. Anyone who has lived there for a long time is used to the damp, rainy and often changing weather. If you've seen movies that were filmed in the UK, you'll find that it rains a lot in these movies. Precipitation can occur even in the coldest winter months; Snow is rare, but it is known that it can snow as well.

Common UK misconceptions
Misunderstandings are an integral part of any country and the UK is no exception. There is a lot of misunderstanding about Britain. At some level we have all heard stories, as we have heard about every country in the world. Nobody knows how they came about. Ultimately, their overuse made them popular so that people believed them to be true. Some of them may seem very strange to us. Here are some of them

Britain is not the same as the United Kingdom
Probably the most common misconceptions about the UK. The term Great Britain or just Britain includes only England, Scotland and Wales and leaves out Northern Ireland, which is also part of the United Kingdom. Officially, the country is called the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Also, there are people who still confuse England and the UK; they refer to the later indication of the first. This can sound insulting to a Scottish or Welsh citizen so keep that in mind.

Warm beer
Perhaps one of the strangest on this list. You've probably heard it before. The truth is, a British man won't drink a beer hotter than yours. British people are known to be people who drink a lot and this fact could come from that fact.

British people drink too much tea
Well, that's not too far from the truth. It is said that the UK ranks third in the world for tea consumption. But that doesn't mean every British citizen drinks tea. Some statistics suggest that an average of 165 million cups of tea are consumed in the UK.

Not all Britons love the royal family
Although the majority of British citizens have a positive opinion of the Queen, there are many who in reality don't see it that way. It's just another misconception about the UK and its people.

Brits like the weather too
The first thing that comes to mind when you think of the UK. The UK's weather is boring, isn't it? Well, you can say it in the UK too. The British don't like it either because of the variability that sets it apart from the rest of the world. It's not that it's raining any moment, but you just can't plan your day because it can start to rain any moment.

They all have bad teeth
If you've watched The Simpsons, you probably remember an episode when a patient goes to the dentist with good oral hygiene. The doctor scares him by giving the big book of the British smile. The book featured people with bad teeth so you can guess the humor here. It's not just a misunderstanding, however.

I can't believe I just realised I haven't yet written a review for one of the few anthologies I actually really loved reading.

"L is for" allows you to step into the worlds of so many so incredibly talented and ambitious artists, who happen to be lesbians and who happen to let us lesbian readers enjoy the luxury of so many different stories for and about us.

And what a variety of authors, stories and emotions this book contains!
You literally get it all!

You could find a short story of your favourite author in here, you might even discover a new author. Plus: Your money will also be spent for a good cause. So, once you've read it yourself (and can't help but have to agree with all the positive reviews here) you could also buy it for that friend of yours, who's birthday is just around the corner. Or maybe even for the one you've always wanted to talk to about what "L" is for ...

Some stories were so good that they felt too short, others were too long. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ is my usual rating for anthologies
