Στο άλμπουμ αυτό του Ντυκενουά, όπως και σε όλη του τη δουλειά, οι φράσεις είναι απλές και σύντομες, η εικονογράφηση γίνεται με απλές και σαφείς γραμμές, λίγα επιλεγμένα χρώματα, ζωντανή έκφραση των ηρώων και έξυπνο χιούμορ. Εδώ παίζουν τα χρώματα : το μαύρο και το άσπρο, το κόκκινο και τα χρώματα της γης και το πράσινο, για το τέρας φυσικά !
Για τις τρυφερές ηλικίες, κυρίως για παιδάκια 3-5 ετών.

Four ghosts go on a visit to Loch Ness, to look for the Loch Ness Monster. They stay for a week at an old, ruined castle (run, of course, by bagpipe-playing MacGhost).

This is one of those children's books where the child is ahead of the characters in the book - is there a proper term? Anyway, every time they are out looking for Nessie, the moment the ghosts turn their heads away from the search, Nessie pops up behind their back. When they look again, there's nothing but a ripple in the water.

DD2 (age 3) found this hilarious; I read it twice the first night, and again nightly for the next two. Thanks for the pointer to this series, Hilary!

I am forever indebted to Alice for showing me this book. Wow. This has got to be one of the cutest most uniquely adorable picture books I have ever read. I swear each page gets cuter and cuter. From matching fuzzy robes to Loch Ness monsters in berets, this book is a trip. Do yourself a favor and read this book, or actually maybe dont because it’s out of print and I’m having trouble finding where to buy it and I want a copy really bad. Please don't take my copy. I will find it.

Tip for UK readers. This book is out of print but I found it for under a fiver under the title of Loch Ness Ghosts. Same front cover illustration as depicted. Not sure why titles get changed for different countries but hope it helps you find it.

Cute little book about ghosts going Nessie hunting. Lovely little details within the illustrations and particularly loved the tartan ribbon banding around the spine. Worth a spot on anyone's spooky bookshelf.

Would be fun to read this "blind" for the kids so that they can't see.. they could predict/infer what the surprise was at the end of the book.

I love this story, from the physical tale, to the illustrations, this book is wonderfully laid out so that you can read it over and over again and seemingly never tire of it. The goofy nature of both the tale and the characters will forever bring a smile to my lips as I have forever loved this book. I can remember as a small child having my Dad read it to me, and my refusals of letting other family members read it to me. This book is one of the only books from my childhood that still remains on my shelf and I doubt will ever leave.

Haamuissa oli kiva juju. Etsivät Nessietä mutta onnistuvat aina katsomaan muualle kun Nessie tulee näkyville. Ihan ei vielä poitsu tätä tajunnut, mutta vähän vanhemmalle varmasti hauska.
