The Kennedy Family #1-4

In Too Deep: The Kennedy Family

Rate this book
In Too Deep is now a standalone with all four books in one book. In Too The Kennedy Family is an urban mystery by National Best-Selling Author, NAKO. Jacob Kennedy, leader of The Kennedy Family, is known in the underground as TKF. Jacob was never interested in settling down until he met the love of his life. After a million-dollar wedding that had the streets talking for months, five children, and a few fairytales in between, all hell breaks loose when his wife is found gunned down in the middle of the street. Jacob went to war to get to the bottom of who would even think about harming his wife, being that he had no beef with anyone. The Kennedy Family was devastated, but no one hurt more than Jacob’s children, Sienna, Savannah, JJ, Jordan, and baby Savona. Nako, the author of The Underworld series and The Connect’s Wife, has penned a book series so gritty and riveting that readers will hang on to every page in anticipation of wanting to solve the mystery and discover the hidden truth surrounding the death of Jackie Kennedy. It was unfair to be left alone without their mother, and once a few layers are peeled back, the children will bond together to bring justice for their mother. But what happens when loyalty is put to the ultimate test? When blood isn’t always thicker than water, can their relationships withstand the late nights and early mornings that come along with being a Kennedy? What if being a part of this family is a burden more than a blessing? The money and fame don’t impress everyone, especially not Savona, who’d rather be broke and, in the streets, than belong to The Kennedy clan. Author's TKF Books 1-3 are INCLUDED in this book. For those that do not wish to read books 1-3 again, PART 4 starts after Chapter 33.

😩

The Kennedy’s had me in a chokehold! This was such an emotional read for a dysfunctional family, my god today!! Money can’t solve all problems and definitely does not equal happiness, as displayed throughout the book. TKF went through so much turmoil, family secrets, trauma, mental battles, and death, before finally walking away and I couldn’t be happier for the family. I gave four stars because I didn’t get closure on Jackie’s family and for such a long book, the ending happened so abruptly and there were many unanswered questions. Speaking of Jackie, she deserved what she got. Period! Check your triggers.

Not quite what I expected!!

First,I love The Tkf series but this last installment did not live up to my expectations. The first three were outstanding. This last part left me feeling cheated. I have more questions than answers. Who shot Grace, why did Van kill herself, are the other kids really Jacob's,etc. I waited for months for this book but Nako you left me hanging.🤔🤔🤔 I love all of your books. I have read them all but this one it needed more details. Looking forward to the next great book.

This is a definite NO for me!

A story has five basic but important elements: the characters, the setting, the plot, the conflict, and the resolution ... these essential elements keep the story running smoothly and allow the action to develop in a logical way that the reader can follow. With that being said, this book was a definite NO for me! Sometimes, it's not about quantity but quality. Maybe, this 800 pages book, could have easily be done in 300 - 400 pages! Just when the book began to become interesting, the story became repetitive and boring. I do understand that writing is hard and not every piece of reading material is for everyone and this was definitely not for me.

Jackie? The Driver.. Why the open ends

I am gonna get right to it. I Thought this book was gonna delve more into the background story of Jackie her family..and why they were so against Jacob. Van just killed herself out of the blue.. Who raped those kids..who shot Grace??These are vital questions and were just not answered..are we really supposed draw our own conclusions? Why was that driver always lurking? Was he the father of Sienna??Really.. The book felt like we were all over the place and too many questions were left unanswered. I look forward as always to reading Nako's work..there is another book from way back that she left us hanging on with..never gave us part 3. Maybe we will get that book..

At one point, I got addicted and read every single book by Nako. Then I moved on to other authors and promised myself I would give it some time before reading Nako again because I got so engrossed in her characters that I felt like I lost my family members when I ran out of books. Then, months later, I picked this book up and got right back engrossed. Now I'm all read up again, all the way through Dear Santa. What shall I do with my life now?

What a great read

First let me say I love all of Nako’s books and this was another one to add to the list of many I’ve already had the pleasure to get lost in. But WOW, I was not anticipating that bomb from Jacob (dad) In the beginning had I known or thought that he had something to do with Jackie’s death I would have been over him but them revelations about how she treated her children made me sick to my stomach. She was a selfish person. How could you tell your daughter to kill herself and sleep with someone that was supposed to be like your father? Just scandalous. Money Mal...I I can’t believe that either I’m glad he did not sleep Siana if he knew he had AIDS. I felt bad for her George seemed like a really nice guy although a pushover, however, he should have stuck with her fault for his marriage because at the end of the day he knew who her family was. What happened to Van, I wasn’t prepared for I would have never let no one push me to go out like that however you never know what people carry with them from their childhood this was a true case of it starts at home. Im glad JJ and Grace Found their way even if it was a godly way because we all need HIM in our life. I was sad at what happened to Grace but glad she made it out with her life her husband should have got his ass beat. Jordan seemed like he had a good heart and I’m happy he found true love and happiness. Savona I loved her, She had went through so much and she came out stronger than ever I understood her bitterness towards her father after she found out she had a brother. Her relationship with her sisters I can relate because I go through the same thing with mines as the baby. I loved her and Chauncey’s relationship I just never saw that happening and to lose his replica after losing him was so devastating even for me but as I said she came out on top. I hated the way Chyna Went on her they all knew who el went on her they all knew who and what her family was capable of. Jabriel was definitely A low-key hater. Her dude told her the inevitable, but she was too wrapped up in spending his money on stuff that she end up having to sell in the end. She should have started a little business knowing what type of dude her baby father was knowing she had a son just like it says in the book you never know the time you never know the hour life is short. Teegan I love her I was sad to see her go now she was a true friend. Shorty a.k.a. baby momma A.k.a. Brittni I felt like she may have been a good woman but she was thirsty. I feel like she only really wanted Jacob for stability granite they had history but again he made his choice and in the end he chose her. I know I gave away a lot but this is four books in one you have to read it for yourself.

Wow

This family was full of some shocking and jaw dropping secrets. Sienna, JJ, Savannah, Jordan, and Savona really didn't have the best memories of their mother Jackie. Judging from the flashbacks. Growing up these 5 children didn't stand a chance because money doesn't buy love. Jacob as their father is partially responsible as well. Sienna as the eldest child had such a huge responsibility as a child that carried over into her adulthood. Which ended up affecting her marriage. Plus she knew and hid a lot of the family secrets. JJ realized he wanted to change his life and no longer wanted to be a part of the family business. He wanted to live his life by his own set of rules. I believe Grace was good for JJ. She also had a huge impact on his decision to be better and want better for himself. I hated what happened to Grace and is still left wondering. Who did it but regardless. God showed up and showed out when he pulled her through it. Jordan wasn't truly happy with where he was at in life. Coming home for a family tragedy had him realizing that he needed to stay. He was right because his father needed him more than he thought. It also allowed Jacob to find happiness and his purpose in life. Savannah wanted more out of life as well. She felt like she was selling herself short. She was also suffering in silence and putting up a front. I was stunned and saddened that Savannah had made a life altering decision which hurt those who loved her dearly but she was hurting more than anyone could ever imagine. Savona was still trying to get over Chauncey while continuing to move on with her life. Although she had matured in a lot of areas in life and found herself. Savona was a little bratty due to her being the baby of the family or so she thought. Jacob held many secret's from his children because he didn't want to face the truth about who their mother really was. When he started to let tell about who the real Jackie Kennedy was before her death. I was floored. I truly love this Author. I'm never disappointed when selecting one of her book's to read. This was a awesome series.

Family first!

Mind blowing! I guess I could start with Jackie. Wow! This fairytale mom was nuts! So much to write about here without giving too much away. Papa Kennedy was the HNIC before he got sick. He ran the TKF. Jacob the heir ran TKF as well and would soon hand his power to either JJ or Sienna. Nako was a mastermind with this series and the ride through this family is soo bumpy! Jacob found out after raising 5 kids there may be a new addition to the family and will the family be accepting? How does a father keep the legacy of his wife pristine as he tries to work on forgiveness. Sienna the oldest loves her husband George but will the scales tip when she takes over the TKF? JJ always knew he would run TKF but after Sienna takes over his transition is amazing and Let's just say Grace. She is just what the doctor ordered. I am still angry about Chauncey! Jordan finally puts his foot down with Cheyanne. Sometimes we have to through something for God to show you what's in front of you. Appreciation. Savannah was up and down with Micah and it was slowly taking her to a place she would not want to go. The family did not know she was soo far gone. Sa was the baby and she was not in agreement with anyone but Grace. Sa needed piece. This series is written with every day experiences no matter about the money but religion, abuse, love, heartache and pain soo deep. Forgiveness is on the table for everyone. Powerful secrets that come out that only God and his strength can get past these transgressions. Another hit to make me and another million readers smile Nako! U did again! Bravooooooo!

I KNEEEEW IT!! OMG. SPOILER ALERT!!!

Where do I even start??

Savona watched her mother get gunned down and when she finally finally finally get herself together and find love her daddy and brother take him from her, JJ legit shot Chauncey in the head like why why why?? So now she not only see her mother gunned down, she had to watch her boyfriend get shot in the head by her brother…..I was hoping Savona would have went crazy and did the same thing to Grace! JJ gets to have a love life but Savona doesn’t no way! I’m glad Grace did take a bullet so JJ could see i go only felt.

Jordan wasn’t interesting he didn’t have a big storyline

Sienna was stupid for choosing the family drug ring over her husband

Savannah well nothing really to be said

JJ I don’t care how saved he became he should have paid for killing Chauncey I mean I thought his sister or somebody was going to put something together but nothing. I really wanted him to suffer.

Grace I absolutely did not like her! She was giving it up out of both draw legs but running to the prayer closet to repent for drinking wine and what happened with her kids were they harmed? What happened to the lady who showed up at her office?

I do feel like Savona could have been decent and said something to Chauncey’s family. They loved on her better than her own family and she just said nothing.

Jabrielle- shouldn’t have hated on Savona at the end because Savona was a good friend to her it’s not her fault she didn’t put any money up!

Jacob Jacob Jacob I knew he was the one who killed Jackie! That was crazy how it came out and all the kids except Savona was like oh well such as life

I could go on and on

THE KENNEDY'S....SO DEEP

I really enjoyed reading this book and I'm glad I waited until all parts were completed. I was glued to this storyline from the very first page. On the outside looking in The Kennedy's were that powerful family that had it all and anyone who dared to challenge them were severly dealt with. But what most didn't know was that on the inside of their home were children who more damaged by Jackie and Jacob Kennedy subjected them to. Drugs, infidelity, rape and not being able to have their own identity outside of family business is what causes the Kennedy children to be so broken on the inside. Who would've known that Jackie wasn't the ideal mother but someone that put her children in harms way for the next fix. I really felt for Jacob because he could've left Jackie years ago but his genuine love for her wouldn't allow him to for the sake of the kids. Until he does the unthinkable that sends his children on a downward spiral of emotional trauma. I was happy that JJ found his happiness with Grace, Jordan with Ming, Savona becoming successful, Sienna getting a second chance at marriage and finally becoming a mother, and Jacob being able to live his life without jackie's memory haunting him. This book definitely has its share of twists, turns, and shocking moments. As always, Great Job Nako

Meet the Kennedys! Jacob and Jackie, along with their five children…Sienna, JJ, Savannah, Jordan and Sabina, make up the first family if TKF. Each one has a place in the family, yet fight desperately to find their voices outside of it. I thought their names were not coincidental,as it reminded me of another famous family of the same name.

As we witnessed a transformation of each character, the spiritual aspect took effect, front and center. In their own way, each character struggled with the foundation that Jackie left behind. They were often reminded that they could get thru anything, with God. I loved Grace (another perfect name) for this!

Once again, @nakosreadinggroup gave her readers a mouthful of emotions, in this 💎💎💎💎 book. At times, I cried, others…horrified, spiritually fed, and grateful, too. This young lady has definitely been blessed with a gift and I'm so glad that decided to share it with her readers.

Grab plenty of snacks, because this is a long one. It also has a few minor errors, which didn't take away from the story AT ALL.

What I was promised vs what I got

Now don't get me wrong, Nako is an excellent writer. I just think she has big ideas that don't always get executed as promised. Don't tell me I'm getting a mystery and then give me what we got. I was invested in the Jackie mystery because I thought it was the premise if the book. Her "killer" fell flat to me as it was shoe horned in and barely given un screen time. However, maybe if I wasnt told that it was a major plot point the revalation would have been shocking and unexpected. Of course, since there were no clues, no real mention of her death in the fourth quarter
of the book that had to do with anyone outside of the family you had to assume it was someone in it. I honestly believe Nako's style us more suited for tv. Something that will give her more time to develop the plot and characters. I mean I LOVE a good girl boss but sheesh the women in these stories are starting to blend together.

Wow

I really liked the this series it's totally different from your other stories. I also like that you discussed mental illness in this book I work in the mental health field and also suffer from depression along with suicidal ideations and being an African-American woman it's common knowledge that mental health is often brushed under the rug in our communities I like that you showed that people still suffer no matter where they are in life both Savannah and Jordan grew up with a silver spoon and still had issues so that was very important to show us readers. I do wish we would have a more in-depth look at Savannah's final moments before "closing her book" (don't want to give anything away if you haven't read the book yet) I also would have liked to see if Jacob ever knew about any of the claims that Sienna told Savona. Also what exactly did Savona mean when she told Sienna me too? This was a great series I love Nako books haven't read one yet that wasn't Fire!!

Whoooooo

I don’t know what was the mystery surrounding Moma Kennedy and her twin sister. Mal Has AIDS so that sound be his main reason for not pursuing a relationship with Si. Si was the Moma hen of the house and family planned both funerals. How could Van kill her self other than hearing her mom saying it took a toll on her because that’s all she had to remember from her mom, she wasn’t there to see the progress Van has made in life, if Jacob hadn’t killed their mom Van might not of killed her self, but from all the info that came out about her at the very end, shooting up, kids getting sexually abused, her cheating in front of Si, with Papa Kennedy, so she was headed down a dark path anyway, good read but the ending came crashing on me felt kind of rushed but overall i loved it!!

The story started out great I was drawn in, it was entertaining and then things took a turn. The ending felt rushed so many things happened with little to no explanation. Were Grace's children being molested ? Did her ex husband have her shot ? Did Jacob know his wife allowed their daughters to be raped ? If so after van why did he allow it to happen to Sa and Jordan ? Who did it ? Did Van really kill her self or was she murdered ? How did Sa end up in her dead boyfriend's cousin presence after her sister died? Did he have something to do with Vans death ? Did Mills have something to do with Vans death? Are any of his kids his father child? What did Sa grandmother know ? Was Jackie sleeping with her driver ? The story line ended with much to be desired and very little making sense.

TKF! Wow!

The Kennedy Family was one that only the devil himself could rival. This book touched on relationships, love, pain, addiction, mental health, secrets, jealousy and God’s forgiveness. It was long, but I’m glad that I could read it all without having to wait on the next installment. When I initially started reading this book, I almost stopped. I was so angry at JJ and I wanted to see the relationship between Savona and Chauncey thrive. I’m so glad that I didn’t. There were still some unanswered questions, but the biggest one was answered. We finally found out who killed Jackie and why. Absolutely loved this series and would definitely recommend it.

Loved it

I loved this book. It touched on mental health and therapy which was amazing. I loved the growth in Sa. She was favorite character in the book. JJ was in for a close second. That surprised me because after reading the first two installments I thought I would never forgive him. I really like Jordan. I learned a lot about Jacob Sr too. He was the most misunderstood in the book. The ending really cleared a lot up for me regarding him. Especially during the empty chair scene.

Whew

I’m shocked that I didn’t shed a tear this time! This was a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Nako, you definitely did it again. I now understand why each child had their own issues. I really can relate to so many of the personalities in this series. I’ve excepted my past as just that but I’m so glad that you touched on mental health in this last book. I’m surprised that 1 of the characters took that step and began therapy. This ended beautifully, there was nothing left to address, in my opinion. Great work, you are definitely favored.

"No family is perfect"

I absolutely love Nako's books. This particular read I felt was rushed everything kinda just thrown in it to complete the book. There's so many things that was brought up that we will probably never know the answer too. Like Jackies driver and did the detective shoot JJ? It also left me feeling sad. I was rooting for Sa to find love seems like where her heart was concerned she never healed. She deserved a happy ending and true love. Overall still a good story but just was looking for more like her other reads.

Love love

This was everything when I say I laughed and I cried through out this read I self reflected on my relationship with my daughter I feel like I’m Jackie and she Savanna this book was everything but I have questions what did the driver have to do with anything in his pop ups? I mean what was his reason. Did she really kill herself I mean it’s some open ended situations that left me wanting a little more other than that I loved the series and each character was relatable jib well done

I love all the characters but JJ and Grace were my favorite I love the way God changed him I cried so much because I could feel Gods prescence while reading this book. Full of truths

Whew, In Too Deep is the perfect title for this story plot! Every emotion is pulled out with the Kennedy family secrets and transformations. Just because the outside appear to be happy doesn't mean that it is! But baby when you give it to God and allow Him to have his way happiness can overflow from the inside out! All I can say is if you haven't read In Too Deep you missing out on a lot! Nako is such a profound storyteller!

Love the hell out of it

This family is so corrupted within itself it's scary to see how friends make out in it. I was not with how the family did Chauncey, he was a real man. Savona needed to find her way to grow up though. Van always was rebellious towards the family by no one cared enough to inquire why she acted that way. They were all a selfish bunch of people when e everything came full frontal. Great page turner and it kept me wanting more.

OUTSTANDING

I had already read parts 1-3 as they were released. I decided to start from the beginning an I am so glad I did because there was some parts that I forgot happened. I love all of Nako’s books. This one did something to me. I was happy to see Van in another light in the finale. I have to say I connected with her more than anybody. This series is definitely another masterpiece. If I can give more stars I would.
