DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT READING THIS AS A STAND ALONE. YOU WON'T UNDERSTAND HALF OF WHAT'S GOING ON, NONETHELESS, THE RELATIONSHIP POV.

You know that book that you KNOW will be the death of you emotionally? The book that you've been waiting for since the very beginning. The book that, after the ending of the last one, had already brought you to your knees before you even read it. Yeah, that's this book and then some. I've gone through just about every emotion you can have while reading this. And now....I'm Numb.

Max. Strong. Caring. Broken. Max. Words can't even express how torn apart she is. I mean, I know that I'd be completely raw after what she's gone through this past year. Hell, this past month alone is enough to ruin anyone. But guess what? For some self inflicting reason, she's still sitting next to the man that's had her heart, even though she hates him so hard. Now what? Where do they go from here?

Dale is a D!CK! Yep, I capitalized it. We all know it. We all have witnessed the hell he's put Max through. But still. He's in a coma after taking a bullet in the head and that's got to change someone, right? Now that he's awake, the only person he wants is Max. Problem? Yeah. He doesn't exactly remember everything. And when I say everything, I mean the crap storm between he and Max. But there's something different. I guess almost dying really can change a man.

Where this series has revolved around the human trafficking issue, there's not too much of that in this one. There really wasn't enough room for it in my opinion. This was all about Max and Dale. Coping. Healing. Caring. Forgiving. Loving. Breaking. And it couldn't have been more perfect. Why did I say I'm Numb? Because if you are not downing a fifth of alcohol, in a fetal position completely crying your ass off, or gaping with your mouth open with unshed tears; by the end of chapter 23… I can never be your friend. That's why. I had saved so many quotes that I wanted to add to this review, but to be honest, they aren't needed. Why? Because you really need to experience those quotes for the first time, the way they are written and meant to be read. Because it's so raw and powerful and heartfelt (I swear I'm not crying right now), that you'll feel those words in your soul. That's why.

Sigh.....this series....

Numb. Yep that's what I was for most of Numb. And now that I'm done reading I'm still kinda numb because it was an exhausting journey that I took with Dale and Max. Numb isn't as dark or as violent as its predecessors, but it's even more emotionally draining. It's centered more on Dale and Max's relationship and less on the human trafficking aspect that the King's Harlots/Vice-One world has been dealing with in previous books. The trafficking aspect is dealt with toward the end, and a huge question is answered, so have no fear if you are really into that part of this series. There really isn't room in Numb for all the action that took place in the first part of the series, because the emotional aspect is far more prevalent and important here. That's not to say there's no violence or no action, (there is some toward the end), because this wouldn't be part of this series without some of both those things, it's just that they're not a huge part of Numb.

Max and Dale have suffered a huge loss and Max is dealing, well, not really, but she's surviving. But not with Dale at her side because he's in the hospital lying in a comatose state from a gunshot to the head. It's fucking with her head that she suffered such a huge loss, one that he's partially responsible for, and yet, she doesn't have his support because he's not conscious. And even if he were conscious, Max knows he wouldn't be there for her anyway because the last words she heard from him were cruel and cold and they're the reason the two aren't together any longer.

When he finally wakes up he wants her with him because all he can smell is her, all he can remember is how he feels about her. He can't remember his past actions that broke them apart. All he knows is that Max isn't there with him, and it pisses him off. And quite frankly, Dale pissed me off in Numb. He was so demanding of Max, so insistent on being in her life, and not understanding that she was grieving, locked in an endless cycle of pain that she couldn't seem to escape, and him being there trying to get her back was only making things worse for her. So they end up in this hugely toxic relationship where they fuck instead of talk and they go back and forth til I was completely exhausted and wanted them to just make up their minds already. Either get their shit together and talk and stay together, or break up for good and get the hell out of each other's lives so they could each move on and be happy. Sigh...the angst was high in Numb and it bothered me. But I am OK with it because Numb wouldn't have been part of the King's Harlots/Vice-One world if it were easy and pretty. No, it's gritty and raw like this whole series. It doesn't mean that I didn't want to strangle Dale more than once, or junk punch him, but I appreciated that it's part of what makes this series just so fascinating. JM Walker doesn't do pretty here, she doesn't do easy. And she doesn't do nice. So the fact that Numb exhausted and angered me is to be expected and even appreciated. Perhaps I'm just as sick as Max and Dale are 😂

In the end, I can say without a doubt that I love Numb as much as I love all the previous books. It's more exhausting, less violent and less physically disturbing, but it's far more emotional. It's also the steamiest, dirtiest of the series. And by dirty, I mean DIRTY , downright lusty and hot. Whew! But of course, it's far more than just dirty, it's raw and heartbreaking and gritty like this whole series. I'm sad that Dale and Max's story is over, but hopefully there will be more of them in Rust, (Creena and Stone's story).

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

Numb is the fourth book in J.M. Walker's King's Harlot MC Series. You do not want to read this book as a standalone. I think it would be to confusing. Plus the other three books are absolutely amazing and you don't need to miss them. This is different kind of series because it involves a all female MC and a group of military men. You will love every second. Numb is Max and Dale's story.

Dale has been in a coma for a while. He doesn't remember his past entirely but he will never forget the smell of vanilla and roses. Its the first thing he smells when he wakes up and he knows with his whole heart that Max has been in his room. He has to get back to her.....but Max is determined to do everything in her power to push him away. She hates him. Every thing in her loathes the man she fell in love with but she can't control her heart and it wants him just the same. However when he had woken up Max realized she needed to end this once and for all. However an unexpected source rips though what they have worked hard to maintained. It is only then that they realize the full potential of their love.

I have been so curious, as have probably a lot of you that have read this series, about Max and Dale. I have wanted their story for a while and here if the payoff. Max was in love with Dale from the moment she laid eyes on him. However events tore them apart and the bad side of Dale came out. Tragedy struck and broke Max, but since Dale in in a coma he is clueless. This book isn't fluff and angst it is hard and gritty and down right heartbreaking at times. There is also a lot of hot stuff in this book that will have you fanning yourself at times. I swear Max and Dale could light up the darkest of skies with there chemistry. I have loved these characters for a while and Numb does not disappoint in the telling of their story. I loved how it got to the nitty gritty of what was really going on between these two and why Dale did what he did. It had to be owned up to and open up the bridge for the healing or destruction of the relationship between these two characters. I also love their group of friends an how every will rally around the others when they are hurting or lost. They never leave anyone behind and they also don't push so hard that they are pushy and unwelcome in the others lives. You get to see glimpses of the previous characters and how they are doing and what is going on in their lives and you also will experience some major events with Jay and Angel.

This series just gets better and better with each book that J.M. Walker writes. She has become one of my must read authors and I am so excited for anything that comes next. There is however one book left in the King's Harlot MC Series which will be Rust...Cerena and Stone's story. I will be so sad to see this series end. J.M. Walker has created a world like no other in the writing world of MC's. I love that it is an all female group and the relationships that each of them have. You do not want to miss a single book in this series. It is a must read and a series I will read many more times over as the years fly by.

Numb.....Ohh lordy....That's exactly how it's left me.
I literally have no words to give, so please bare with me.

Max and Dale. Numb. This is their story. This is their heartache. This is their voice.
Their story is nothing short of gut wrenching, heart breaking, dark, dangerous and twisted.
Max has lost. She has lost in the most unimaginable way. Darkness claims her daily. Trying to push through her absolute heartache is a daily occurrence. And she's doing it all on her own. And why?
Because the very man she needs and wants by her side, even though her hate for him rolls off her in waves won't wake up.
Everyday she visits. She sits, waiting for his eyes to open, waiting for him to face her, waiting for him to feel at least a fraction of the pain that he caused her.
But his eyes remained closed.

But now it's time for Dale to wake.
But when he wakes, he remembers nothing. He doesn't remember the hurt, the pain and the heartache he put Max through, he just knows he has to have her.

But can Max ever forgive Dale?
Will Dale remember?
Can both Max and Dale survive?
Or will they be each others destruction?

Again, JM Walker has given us brilliance. From the prologue I couldn't put it down. Raw, gritty, dark, twisted, heartbreaking, breathtaking. This novel was jam packed with so many emotions. My time spent reading this novel was through blurry eyes, the tears just kept coming. My heart literally broke for them both.
The subject matter. Yes there is a warning, and yes I read it, but my heart still struggled. JM gave the subject matter so much respect that I am in awe of her writing abilities. It was written with so much depth and detail I couldn't help but feel throughout the whole novel.

I don't want to give anything else away. But I will say this......
Guys please read Numb. A novel that will stay with me always.
Max and Dale.....Your story will be with me for a very long time.

5 stars.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book

For those of you that don’t know Max, short for Maxine, and Dale let me fill you in so you are ready for Numb.
Max is the Vice-President of the Kings Harlots. She’s and Jay have been BFF’s since they were kids. She’s a artist and she’s the good one of the club.
Dale is a member of Vice-One. He’s also a man whore. When they first met, they were totally hot for each other. That is until Max told Dale she loved him and she was preggers. Dale being the coward and man whore that he is kicked her to the curb and proceeded to fill his bed with other women trying to replace her, but there is no one like Max.
When we last left the two of them Max had given birth to a still born baby girl and Dale was in a coma.
Ok, the happy part first. Yay, to our resident sadist doctor being in this book, he always makes me happy.
Now the rest, LOL.
I have to say WOW because Walker does a great job of pulling the feels out of ya. I cried, wanted to smack both Dale and Max, and finally smiled.
These two are the definition of a toxic couple. Max hates Dale for they way her treated her when she told him how she felt, that she was pregnant, that he woke from the coma not remembering how he treated her, that she lost her baby girl, and yet she still loves him. Being with him, even if they don’t talk, is the only that makes her sane.
Dale knows he loves Max, knows he did some really screwed up shit to her, even if he can’t remember what. He just wants her back, wants her to forgive and trust him.
These two push and pull each other like a rag doll. When they're together they heat up the room, but they just cant seem to get their s**t in order. The will they or wont they drives me to drink!!! Lol!!!
Oh, oh, oh, and we now know who is the head of the human trafficking group, in the middle of this too.
Walker girl you drain me, but I can’t want for the next book ill make sure to stock up on tissues and wine.

Numb is anything but Numb. I can't even begin to start with how this book makes me feel. This author knows how to provoke some of the strongest emotions from you. I am not a crier but I absolutely recommend have tissues on standby...I may or may not have shed a few tears. This is INTENSE! That is all the warning I will give you.

The light in my darkness. The innocence to my madness.

Dale and Max were pregnant. Dale was a major d-bag to Max and Max lost their baby. While Max is coping with the loss of their child Dale is in a coma from a gunshot wound. Max is crumbling inside and fueled with rage and hate for Dale but has this undeniable pull to Dale. Her attraction to Dale is making her insane and mad at herself. Dale comes to and can't remember the bad things with Max. But he can't figure out how to show Max how sorry he is. He hates himself for causing her so much pain and the loss of their baby. All the while the "Organization" is still out there and the ring leader is still at large and wreaking havoc. Just wait for twist! OMG!!!

The sheer intensity of the love/hate relationship that Max and Dale have is overwhelming....and HAWT! The characters will attach to you and you will feel like you are part of the story. Many times I found myself yelling at the characters to just see the light! But we know how well that works, lol!

This is an absolute must read and I feel like Numb is one of the most intense of the series. Get ready for a wild ride!!!!

***I received this book in exchange for an honest review***

When the rest of the books in this series have revolved around the human trafficking issue, there's not too much of that in this book, although we do find out at the end who is the head of the trafficking ring is. This book focuses more on Max and Dale and their relationship and how it affects them and everyone around them. The book starts out right after Max suffers a huge loss and with Dale in a coma after taking a bullet in the head. Once Dale wakes up all he wants is to be with Max because he doesn’t remember all the problems they had and things he said and did to her. Meanwhile, Max hates Dale for what he did to her but at the same time she is still attracted to him like she was when she first met him. Her attraction to him is making her insane and mad at herself but she can’t help but act on it because it is the only thing that makes her feel. Their feelings for each other are intense but they need to figure out if they are good for each other or if being together is toxic. They also need to keep an eye out for the “Organization” as they are still out there on the loose trying to cause trouble for Vice-One & King’s Harlot’s. The emotions that both Dale & Max go through while dealing with their loss and with each other will take you on an emotional roller coaster ride but it is so worth it. Numb is the best story in the series so far and I am looking forward to the next book.

I felt Max’s pain. She struggles to make sense and move forward from the loss of her baby. This is intense, all consuming and heart breaking. As she flounders, she finds herself sitting by Dale’s hospital bed while he is in a coma but when he wakes, she stays away. She can’t be hurt by him again, she knows she can’t take that added pain but she stills loves him. Dale wakes up and doesn’t remember what he did to Max. He knows she was pregnant and that they had an intense and volatile connection. As Dale works to prove Max can trust him, he struggles with his memory loss and truly understanding how much he hurt Max. Max and Dale are truly incredible together. Will they be able to push past all the hurt and loss to truly embrace happiness? We get to connect with the entire Harlot’s and Vice One crews as a new threat looms as they continue to stop the human trafficking ring. Yes, intense suspense is layered on top of all the emotional angst which left my heart pounding and the tears flowing. J.M. Walker can truly gut a person. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

Let me start by saying I absolutely adore both the series and the author, that being said what in the ever loving hell were you thinking playing with my emotions like that?
Every book in this series will give you the feels but this one takes the cake.
Max's heartbreak is unimaginable, and Dale Lord I wanted to beat him senseless.
There couldn't be a better title for this book, Numb is exactly what I wanted to feel and Max felt.
Each book in this series is better than the last, the depth of the characters grows exponentially as does your emotional connection to them.
I want to give this book so freaking many stars but five will have to do.
This series should be read in order from the beginning to completely enjoy and understand the books.

This book was absolutely amazing to read! I HIGHLY recommend reading it and the other books in this series. The struggles that Maxine and Dale go through in this book make you actually feel like you are right there experiencing it all with them. Within the first few chapters of this book it brought out so many emotions. I love reading books that make me actually feel something and suck me into them. Once I started reading this I literally couldn't set it down. I had to know what was going to happen next between them and know if they were able to battle all the challenges that they had to face alone and together and find out if they would get there HEA. I love all the books in this series, but I honestly think this is the best one in it. I loved it!

Wow! Talk about a deep and emotional journey! My heart was ripped apart and stitched back together. This couple has been through so much and it breaks your heart, the push, the pull. And with Dale not remembering vital parts of his life with Max, it’s brutal. This couple I cheered on sooooo hard, these two are just ... I have no words lol for going though so much and going through even more difficult times and just getting through them is powerful and beautiful!

Beautiful

This book is absolutely beautiful. From the pain they feel, to the love they feel. You feel Dale and Max's pain throughout the entire book. The love that is between them is shadowed by their pain. Each have their reasons but it's the one main factor that's keeps them connected. It is truly a ugly, beautiful story. Amazingly written.

I had to stop reading a few times as I couldn't see through the tears. The way you are hooked and not let go until you see them through their emotional journey. Can't wait for RUST.
This is one of my favourite MC series out there.

weak FMC

One star because I had to. I DNFd. I don’t usually rate if I quit at 28% but this one …
I couldn’t stand the constant sobbing FMC. She let herself get so worked up over the MMC that was basically cruel to her on purpose and not the normal Ahole H he was cruel. She lost her baby. I DNFd after the BBS. I just couldn’t finish.

Heartbreaking and yet...

This book grabbed a hold of my soul and just about destroyed it. I had tears rolling down my face, there is nothing worse than what Dale and Max have had to face, devastating, destructive and just about broke me. Numb deserves more than 5 stars. I have been a huge fan of the King's Harlots MC books from the very beginning but J M Walker has taken this series to a whole new level with Numb. This is the 5th book and the series and I strongly suggest any reader interested to read the series in order. It's not only important overall to grasp the much larger story line but also it's important when it comes to Max and Dale's story. This is key to Numb. Great job, now I need more damn tissues.

This was a sad read and heartbreaking. Losing her baby and trying to come to terms with how she feels for Dale and vice versa was a struggle and what Tyler did to her, he deserved what he got and more. The ending of the book after they were married for a few years and her daughter reading a letter to her dead sister (the baby that was lost) was very sad and then she rides off with a biker? Hopefully that will pop up in another book.

Max and Dale. Dale and Max. What a hot mess you two are!! OMG Like for realz. You two both need to go away and just eff each other until it’s all fixed…LOL

If the beginning prologue doesn’t set the tone for this book and make you tear up, well you my friend are heartless…lol….and maybe you and Tyler should date??!! EWWW Tyler..smh…..
So as we all know Dale is a DB. He treated our girl horrible because he was freaked out about his feelings for her. Not a good excuse as his actions caused Max to lose the baby and in essence lose herself.

Max is a mess because she hates and loves Dale. She loves him because you can’t stop what the heart wants but she hates him for being the cause of her miscarriage and loss of her daughter. She hates him for not waking up from his coma and loves him for allowing her a little peace in her life.
Dale wakes up and doesn’t remember everything except he loves Max. He doesn’t understand or remember everything that happened and it is making his crazy. Why won’t she forgive him? What did he do that was so bad?

Our couple is pushing and pulling away and then crashing into each other so much in this book it becomes so toxic.

When the “bad guys” come into play again our couple has even more baggage to deal with because it strips Max and Dale bare. They must figure out what they want and what they need vs what is in the best interest for each other. Sometimes love just isn’t enough even when you love with your whole heart!!

Dale and Max put us readers through it this book. If you are a fan of the series, you won’t be shocked at the push and pull dynamic but then again you might be shocked at how sweet and tender Dale can be. It even knocked me for a loop. Much like Max, I needed him to be the a$$ we all knew not this tender man!

Max needs some counseling with Dr. Santos and a few happy pills to pull her head outta her butt but I loved her strength. She didn’t go easily with Dale and fought it tooth and nail.

Last thoughts…Coby is still my beating heart but that Stone guy….HRMMMMM..yeah him I am watching with a lot of interest!!

Carla's Five Star Review

Numb is the fourth book in this series, and it is Dale and Max's story. It is not sweet and, at times, it will rip your heart right from your chest. I will warn you that this story line deals with infant loss, and it shines a light on the road that anyone dealing with grief has to travel. Tissues handy!

Numb means to deprive oneself of healing and responsiveness. Perfect name for this book because that is exactly what Max and Dale are doing. Bless their hearts, Dale and Max were both so naive when it came to the ways of the world. Once you read about their own childhoods, it becomes obvious why they are who they are today.

Poor Max just couldn't take the stress that was placed on her day in and day out, and she ending up losing their baby. She feels as if her world has been completely obliterated. Due to a shooting, Max is in a coma, and when he finally wakes up, he can't remember how things were between him and Max . Oh, but Max can't forget if even for a second. She remembers every kiss and every touch he shared with a multitude of women. And we can't forget that the first time Max told him that she loved him, he laughed, yes laughed, in her face. When he learns about the baby, he is even more riddled with guilt. He makes multiple attempts to apologize, but she needs more than words. She needs to know that she is the number one in his life. They each realize that what is needed is some time apart. They pack their bags, and head off in different directions.

Fast Forward six months, and they are both back to celebrate their friends wedding. Things are better between them but still not great. Outside forces are still working to keep them apart, but Max and Dale are tired of being apart, and they are both willing to give things another go.

I have loved this series from book one, but Numb is now my absolute favorite! It will illicit all kinds of emotions from you and will leave you doing the ugly cry. The writing is simply phenomenal. It contains depth and details that only serve to enhance the entire reading experience.

This book tackles an incredibly difficult subject, one I've personally lived through. I found myself crying at times, angry and frustrated at others. Both characters are emotionally immature, Dale much more so. Considering their upbringing that's certainly no surprise so I understand it on that level. The world is full of messed up people finding their way. You're not going to find hearts and flowers and some Cinderella romance here. What you get is not just rough around the edges, it's sharp and jagged. Dark themes underscore their struggle and compound their grief. They walk away and come back and do it again and it will frustrate the heck out of the reader. That said, it's more real and honest than other stories out there. Love isn't always pretty, in this case it's a bit ugly. But it's still love. Going into this I hated Dale. No...I loathed him. And at the end I can't say that I like him. I don't necessarily hate him anymore either, though. I pity him and I dislike him. I pity Max but I like her. And I understood how she felt over her loss. Feeling that loss is unlike anything else, it's a confusing jumble of emotions that I found was captured well. The fact that I can read a book, still not like the characters but am eager for the next book is a testament to the authors skill. This isn't all about romance. It's about a story, a journey for two broken people making their way in the world together. I read a great many books and of those I don't remember many in detail. This is one is those books that I will never read again but that I have burned into memory and am glad I've taken the journey with them.

This is Max and Dale's story and you must read the previous novels to understand their journey. Now I have wanted Max and Dale's story from the moment we met them in Grit; Dale was a major buttmole to Max and he deserved everything he got. However, Max did not deserve what happened to her and her daughter. I can't say too much because it will give too much away, but Dale is in a coma and while he sleeps, Max suffers through something very traumatic.

I really did enjoy their book, but I felt they argued about the same issue repeatedly ending with the same result. There are many many steamy moments but there are heartbreaking moments as well. It was a very emotionally draining book so please be prepared.

Creena and Stone are next and it's the last book in the series I believe :(

Spoilers (I'm serious):

I wanted Dale to suffer from the moment he rejected Max and the baby, it was such a buttmole thing to do. I expected Max to take out all her hatred and anger on him which she sort of did, but in an odd manner. I did enjoy their story, but they mostly fought over the same issues repeatedly throughout the entire book. They left each other multiple times just to get back together and fight and repeat the cycle. I'm not sure any of their problems actually got solved, but I was happy to see them heal eventually. I would have loved for Max to have had a relationship with someone else just to give Dale a taste of his own medicine.

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

This book took me on an emotion rollercoaster JM Walker has a way of jarring the emotions from me. I have to say the opening of this book had me hooked and the ending had me choked up. Lives change in the blink of an eye can Max and Dale find a way to deal with the changes. What happens when evil reaches your loved one and tortures them?

Max the VP of her MC has dealt with having her heart torn out by the one she loved the most now is dealing with the loss of her baby girl and now the person responsible for her hurt is laying in a coma. Max cannot let Dale in again not with the way he treated her heart the last time.

When Dale does wake up from the coma he cannot remember all the hurt he caused Max but tries to figure out why she being this way toward him. Max cannot let him in again not with the way he treated her heart the last time. See when someone has never been loved he gets scared when he has it and doesn’t know how to deal with it. Dale shows us a sweet side of the a$$ of a man.

There wasn’t much verbal communication between Max and Dale but they did have some numbing sex scenes. To watch what Max and Dale endured in the past and now is painful and how can they overcome all that has occurred. Everything Max and Dale went through had my heart bleeding for them. I cannot image what is going to happen in the rest of this series and I for one cannot wait to read it.

* ARC was received for an honest review!

This book definitely cannot be read as a standalone otherwise you would not have a clue of what the fudge is happening. You definitely need to start at the beginning. This series I guarantee you, you will fall in love with these characters and there stories. This author has slayed this series by bringing a female Mc and military together.

This is the moment we have been waiting for. We finally got max and Dale story. There story isn't an easy one , for one it's full of so much heartache.

Numb, I loved this so so much. I enjoyed the ride that we were taken on and the journey to love. This story is gut wrenching , heartbreaking, dark, dangerous and twisted.

Max has went through any women's worst nightmare, loosing a lost like that has changed her. Darkness try's to claim her everyday, trying to get through that struggle of lost is breaking her but most of all she is doing all of this on her own.

The one person that she needs is dale and he won't wake up. His in a Coma. Everyday she visits him hoping he will wake up but he doesn't. She just wants him to wake up so he can feel just a bit of her pain.

When he does wake up, he remembers nothing , he doesn't remember the hurt, pain and most of all the heartache that he put max through.

Can max ever forgive Dale ?
Will dales memory every come back?
Can they survive or will they be each other destruction?
Will they get their happily ever after?

I was so looking forward this book and it didn’t disappoint me at all. That’s why I love JM Walker, books she never disappoints with the storyline.

“I only wish I could remember so I can right the wrongs I’ve caused you. I will never forgive myself. I need you. Not to forgive me. I can wait for whenever you are ready.”

I loved reading Dale and Max story. The ups and downs these two went through, is amazing they didn’t killed each other. Sometimes love is not easy at times you have to go through the bad before the good comes. I’m not going to lie, I was mad at Dale at how he treated Max before the accident, but something changed in Dale after the accident that actually made him finally feel. This story had you going from the first page till the last and you didn’t know what was going to happen till the end. You had a really good storyline along with some really good sexy scenes and the secondary characters that you enjoyed as well.

“I’ll take all of your pain…all of the heartache I have caused you. I’ll even take your hate. Just don’t stop looking at me.”

Throughout this series JM Walker, has not disappointed me in her writing and she gets better every book she writes. I can’t wait for her next book in this series.

“I love you, Maxine Stanton. And nothing is going to get in my way of showing you just how much I do, in fact, love you.”

F*ed up love is still love
I have been waiting for Max & Dale's story since Grit. Anyone who read it knew that it was going to be a heart-wrenching story, but I would've never thought it would lead to this. My heart had physical pain reading about these two.
Max blamed Dale for the loss of their daughter, everyone did. But it's hard to hate someone you still love, especially while they are laying in a coma. But when Dale awakens and has to be told what happened while he was out from his best friend, it doesn't sit well with him.
What continues after this is what happens when you mix gasoline and fire...things explode.
They know they can't live with each other and the know they can't live without each other, so where does that leave them? Where does Dale fit into a heart that is no longer there after losing their baby?
Every book in this series so far has made me yearn for more, and this is no exception. There were so many parts where I had to actually out the book down and walk away to get ahold of myself. It's a reach inside you and rip your heart out kind of love.
Just when you think you have it down and all emotions in check, the final chapter throws you into deeper tears! Be prepared!

Numb COMPLETELY crushed me!!! I mean ugly cry snot running in my tissues....... ALL. THE. WAY. TO . THE. VERY. END!!!
Once again J.M Walker takes us back to the world of The King's Harlots and Vice One. and she DOES NOT disappoint. Every single page was filled with angst and grief! We hear the complete story of Max and Dale.
I must admit that I was NEVER a fan of Dale in the previous books, BUT......... I fell in love with so hard!!
There were SOOO many MIND BLOWING twists that I YELLED at my kindle like they could actually HEAR me telling them what to do...
We are getting ever so closer to finding all of the missing pieces that connect The organization and to bring them down to their knees FINALLY!!!
Loved catching up with each and every one of the characters we have read throughout the entire series. I feel like I am a part of the Sisterhood and I loved every minute of it, even though I wanted to crawl in a corner and rock myself till it was all better!!!
Definitely a must read!!!

Numb by J.M. Walker is the fourth book in The King´s Harlots MC Series.
I recommend to read the books in order, this is not a standalone. Numb picks up where the previous book ends up.
The King´s Harlots MC and Vice-One suffered both great loss.
Maxine - Max-, the VP is devastated. She´s on the lowest point of her life. And the man who caused this pain and hurt her so deeply can´t hear her rage. She´s depressed and bitter.
Dale Michaels was shot and nobody knows if he´ll live or die.
Both are broken people, shells of their old selves.
Let me tell you, this book gutted the hell out of me! I had more than one ugly cry and was asking me, how can somebody come back from such great tragedy.
But not only these two were hurt. The actions of the clubs enemies hurt the other members too. Some might never recover from such evil.
Numb is raw, it is gritty and it hurt reading how the characters suffered.
I highly recommend Numb and give 5 stars. Thank you so much, J.M. Walker !

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader’s Copy of this book. Numb is book 5 in the amazing saga of The King's Harlots MC Series by the talented J.M. Walker. This is the story of Maxine "Max" Stanton, she's Vice-President of the Kings Harlots and Dale Michaels, a member of Vice-One and their relationship. This's the story you've been waiting since finishing the first book and OMG! the author doesn't disappoint. The plot is raw, strong and profound with lots of drama, struggles, sadness, loss, anger, darknes, heartbrake, hate and Love. It was an emotional rollercoaster and very intense journey for Max and Dale. I like that you read glimpses of the previous characters and how they are doing. This book was packed with so many emotions, for me was breathtaking. This series just gets better and better with each book that J.M. Walker writes. It is a must read and I strongly recommended!!!! Cant wait to read the next one!
