I’m a huge Rick Renner fan. If I could only have one book (along with my Bible) it would be his Sparkling Gems So i had huge expectations for this book on a vital subject
It had some fantastic insights. Renner is a true bible scholar. But it was obviously a transcribed sermon series so there was constant repetition of the same key point in chapter after chapter
I love Rick Renner’s insights into the original Greek of the Bible specifically. I also really enjoyed his insights into the actual journey of the Apostle Paul. I’d never seen before how the trials that he encountered in his ministry were actually because he was disobeying God’s specific call on his life! As a “Hebrew of the Hebrews,” he was passionate about reaching the Jews, even though they kept rejecting him (and arresting him, and stoning him, and running him out of town). But God called him to the Gentiles. When he finally fully embraced this call, that was when the blessings came upon him and overtook him. He still encountered difficulties after that, but things worked out for him supernaturally after that. Very insightful.
